Asked them by e-mail to keep the order, and they replied "Thank you for your response. We were able to ship your order on 12/19/07." Except, my credit card was not charged, and the Dell website says the order was cancelled.
Maybe I'm getting two for free. Yeah right... I wonder if this is...
The MSI 8800GT exists. newegg had them for a while and I received my 2 from shopblt.com ($242/ea) on 12/14, from a 11/21 order.
I agree they're going to the high bidders first. Dell probably sold these $208 MSIs at zero or negative profit and is now stalling until their costs drop enough to...
I ordered 2 MSIs from Dell 11/24 9PM (12/17 ETA) but kept my original 11/21 order w/ shopblt.com. Late tonight BLT said "We have processed these items for an estimated ship date of Thursday, December 13, 2007." The charge is now pending on my CC, and the status page says "Your order has shipped...
Several 8800GT cards are usually in stock @ newegg, ~$260-280, at least $90 below the 512MB GTS. Those are probably a better option if you can't wait for Dell, shopblt, etc
Over 21? WTF? 18 is legal majority. At 18 you can consent, have a credit card, own property, go to jail for your felonies, and die for The Man in unjust wars, but you can't sign for a UPS package?
shiiiiyat. I wonder if the UPS drivers actually card people
2 weeks is typ enough time to build + test thousands of cards..
I wonder if the delay is related to the fan control problems or some other technical issue
Or, if vendors have a huge stash but are keeping supply low + prices high until after christmas
Same here. 12/10 -> 12/17 for my 2 MSIs ordered 11/24 ~9PM
[posts of hundreds weeping]
But I will wait rather than pay $200 more. Time to whine for next day air
mine shippx0r3ed!!!!!1111!
this was a test of the dell 8800GT shipment notification system. if this were an actual shipment event, today would probably be 12/10, or after. thank you for your participation in this test.
shopblt.com is showing a 12/01 ETA for their MSIs. Then again they've missed 4 or 5 estimates so far. Also, seems they have had ~100 backorders cancelled recently.. bet they love Dell..
I wasn't kidding about the $30 1800W PS. Its possible to build a Redundant Array of Inexpensive Power Supplies if you know basic electronics and study the ATX spec at formfactors.org. Basically you need to connect PS_ON from the motherboard to PS_ON on all the supplies, and combine PS_OK from...
Right out of newegg [H]otDEALS for 11/21, also listed on their "daily specials":

Burpy did you see tracking info on the web first, or did it just arrive?
I ordered 2 on Nov 23.. they still show "In Process" with no ETA
BTW thanks OP. This was pretty [H]ot vs other BF deals
[H]ot. In for 2. ETA 12/10. If shopblt actually ships on 11/25, I will cancel at Dell
Hopefully, by now, NVIDIA has taken the hint and has an entire city building 8800GTs full bore
Backordered 2 MSIs from shopblt.com @ $242.70/ea . AFAICT they are the only vendor that is a) still asking ~MSRP, b) providing ETAs, c) allowing cancellation w/o fees prior to shipment, d) not in CA
Shipment ETA is 11/25. Unfortunately their incoming shipment for today is now overdue.
The 8800 GT was basically a paper launch.. checked 15 stores in socal, none have stock or even an ETA. I am pretty sure every honest vendor on froogle is sold out and they're going for $330+ on eBay (one for $600)
Guess I'm playing crysis w/ crap settings for a while. Thanks NVIDIA
FS: ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 256MB AGP 8X/4X. MINT in original retail packaging with all retail cables, manual, CD, and DVI->VGA adaptor.
8 DirectX 9.0 rendering pipelines with 256 bit memory interface.
Solid video card for DOOM 3 + Half-life 2 on an AGP system.
Asking $100 + $6.95 USPS...
It would probably take more than $200 worth of engineering time to interface the AllElec $11 LCD.. if you just want something that works, it makes more sense to eBay a VGA LCD.
I was looking for a <= 7 inch LCD + touchscreen for an in-dash truck install. The Dynamix 706 (assuming it arrives)...
I briefly considered that $11 LCD for a carputer, but instead eBayed a Dynamix 706:
- 7 inch 800x480 color
- Touchscreen
- VGA + RCA
- IR Remote Control
- 400cd/m^2 brightness
- 12V Power
$210 shipped.
$120 is an awesome deal. The 3000 vennies will hit 2.4 and often 2.6 @ 1.5V without going over 55C on the retail HSF. Use PC4000 or PC4400 DRAM if you are worried about the multiplier -- its often cheaper than the overpriced "enthusiast" PC3200 and is guaranteed to reach the speeds you need...
Last week I received a refurb 6600 which worked in the BIOS for about 1 minute before its lame sudden death. No VGA, DVI, output at all. RMA'd.
Getting ready to test a new 6600GT now.. if its DOA I am back on ATI for life.
BTW most systems still draw less than 200W in the BIOS. Headroom is...
Just received this refurb from newegg. no audio module, no cables, no backplate, no manual, no mint under the pillow, but no major surprises there. At least it still has the clock battery. Has coax SPDIF onboard. No legacy serial or parallel ports. The dual 1000mbps ethernet is awesome for $85...
The screen door effect is a result of the panel technology and is not a unit-specific manufacturing
flaw. Not everyone notices or is bothered by it, though.
Personally, I sent a 2001FP back because its "shimmer" + screen door effect gave me a
headache and vision artifacts after 30 minutes...
Ordered 03/07, Estimated Delivery to Los Angeles 03/22-03/24. :(
Some 03/04 CA people shipped today, so I am hoping mine ships tomorrow.
If not, maybe Dell would let me fly to their closest in-stock warehouse to
pick up my precious?
Every review and every screenshot makes these Dell...
California [H]ers: please post when your order arrives (with original order date)
Dell is still listing a 10 day shipping delay for CA. Horay for 10% taxes and a
one week delay. :(
So how come the French ship in 2 days? WT[H]? They didn't even support our Oil War!
