+1. Got a pair of them on order, 12/12 est. ship date. After Uncle Sam's cut, etc. they came out to $216.88/ea. I'm going to still wait a little longer, as I don't think there is going to be a comparable price in the next few weeks. If there is, I might cancel this order. My 7950GX2 is getting me by fine, so I'm not in too much of a hurry. :)

I chatted online with a representative. She said they're back ordered. Chances are we're going to have to wait another 10 days if not more. I'm not holding my breath. I ordered an Inno3D card for $274. I haven't canceled my DELL order since I don't know if this site is going to pull a DELL as well. :mad:

If I end up getting both somehow I'll sell one on eBay for profit or keep it for SLI.
 
so...did anyone who ordered the XFX card get theirs shipped too? I wonder if there was a similar delay or back order of these cards too. I know about the 6+ shipping time on the card right now. But when I ordered it, it was scheduled to ship tomorrow.
 
I ordered on 11/24, and it says est. 12/10. Not cancelling it but can wait.

UPDATE: Just got email from Dell - order delayed, est ship 12-17-07.

Mine was delayed to the 19th.


We need to get together and order a bunch of a distributor ourselves. Only way to get a cheap one.
 
I chatted with a Dell person and he said that it would probably be shipped on the 12th but I also got the email for the 17th. I ordered pretty early on 11/24/2007 (before the deal was posted here at least) so I am hopeful.
 
2 weeks is typ enough time to build + test thousands of cards..

I wonder if the delay is related to the fan control problems or some other technical issue

Or, if vendors have a huge stash but are keeping supply low + prices high until after christmas

I just don't believe that is likely because then they wouldn't be able to sell full systems with such card, but guess what? They do!

What is more likely is that they messed up on their site and now are delaying orders on purpose to see how many cancel.

... It's not like the assembly line guys are ripping open MSI and XFX 8800GT retail packages and shoving them in PCs.

MSI and XFX probably heavily prioritize the OEM shipments to Dell and others, which could be part of the reason they are totally failing to ship the retail parts.
