Perhaps the company you bought it from could get in touch with them and have them contact you. As a retailer, I certainly would be willing to do that if I had a customer having such difficulties. However, if they bought it through a distributor, they might have the same trouble as you.

Does it shut off immediately, or does it stay on for a minute or so? Does it go into shutdown or just switch off like someone unplugged it?

A couple of people on here have had positive experiences with buying at Koolertek.

Another idea is to use velcro. Put some self-adhesive tabs on the knobs, then put a strip across them. Small children probably won't think to pull the velcro to fiddle with the knobs.

I would like to think that that fan controller can handle two low power fans like those, but you might want to check specs.

Thermal pads aren't hard to remove if you use the right chemicals. I agree with playah, though...a good thermal compound is better to use.

For 120 fans, I'd go with Scythe Gentle Typhoon. No lights or anything, but they're a much higher quality fan than the sleeve-bearing fan you linked to. They're pretty universally liked, and they can be found for 14.79 to 14.99 depending on the store. The Google Shopping thing is what I tend to...

For 35 bucks with the 1366 adapter, you can get a Core Contact Freezer, it includes a fan...still a very good cooler. For 43 bucks you can get a ThermoLab Baram, no fan, but a great sink. For 53 bucks you can get a TRUE 1366 RT, with fan...excellent cooler. All are cheaper than your current...

No matter which of them you run, you're well under any temp that would cause problems.
