Regarding AI, I get tired of seeing a lone wolf come and attack where it probably should run away. Same when you are a bad ass warrior and some toll road minion is trying to collect some taxes. They should either run or make small talk and act like nothing is going on to get you to leave them...

These companies use it for marketing/research purposes, there's no way they would hold on to this data voluntarily unless they were being paid for the storage.
