since I installed these drivers i had afew crashes with COH so I think I am going back to 10.2
anybody else having issues with company of heros? not the first time for ati :(
yes, I believe so.
I got the same board and keeping the Jan bios to unlock my 550 ;)
By the way my north bridge gets very hot: up to 65C when gaming thanks to the heat from the GFX below, and I running at stock 3.1Ghz!, what about yours?
i believe it does but not sure!
it has sb750 anyway.
Sorry, I just realise I was talking about the latest biostar TA790GX and the threath is about the 780G :rolleyes:
have you tried using one stick alone? changing memory slots? I got the same mobo with 2x1GB supertalent running happily at 275 CL1. I remember the ballistix were the fastest but used to break down easily due to heat problems. I would try a clean install with the memory to see what happens....or...
I am expecting delivery of this board and thinking to buy an X3 710 or 720, are you getting good overclocks with it? any luck unlocking the 4th core guys?
Not very lucky here: Furmark stable only at 935/1000 and temps up to 88C at default fan speeds.
Autotune 965/1105 but crashed Vantage after most of the tests.
I wonder what increase should I get on my 8800gtx with the new drivers which i haven't installed yet as I read a few guys with problems with them :confused:
All the tests I have seen only use the 260 or 280 and mainly new games that I don't have :rolleyes:
I don't have any problems gaming anything with an opteron 170 at 2.82 & 8800gtx so I don't see the need to upgrade. However I wouldn't buy a 4870X2 or another 8800 to SLi with my opty as I am pretty sure my cpu will bottleneck a great deal trying to run 2 GPUs at the same time.
I can't believe nobody say anything bad about the ATI yet ;)
I'd go for the ati as I love having a dual monitor set up. Also the ati uses very little power when not gaming
If you go for the GT make sure you get one with better cooling than the original, otherwise I 'd go for the ati
If you not play many games I'd get the 3850
The market is not big enough for 2 high performing AGP videocards. Ati arrived before so Nvidia doesn't bother to develop a new design just to sell a few hundreds boards more. Also don't forget that a high performance videocard needs a fast CPU to shine; I am pretty sure the difference between...
I also considering a 8800 gts or a 3870x2, waiting for some reviews and price after the ati is released. I wouldn't buy a gtx unless the price is just a bit more than the gts
check this link testing crysis with single, dual and quad cores. Also with many low performance gfx:
http://www.amdzone.com/amdzone/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=8505
you can see going for single to dual core at the same speed almost double the performance
Considering many actual games including bioshock are faster with a double core processor would be a good idea to replace your pc if you can afford it ;)
I am running everything at high at 1280x1024/19" getting an average of 33FPS with the following custom configuration:
e_shadows_max_texture_size=512
e_max_entity_lights=7
e_water_ocean_fft=1
r_DetailDistance=4
e_view_dist_ratio_detail=22
e_terrain_occlusion_culling_max_dist=180
r_sunshafts=1...
I replaced my opteron 146 at 2750 for a 170 running at 2830 in summer (bit faster in winter). New opterons 165 and 170 overclocks very well and they are cheap ;)
There is a review around showing that with the same video card a double core gets much better scores than a single core in this game so yes upgrade your cpu ;)
My Asrock used to run at FSB of 310 without any problems so something is wrong with your set up.
BTW I also went to a A8n32 and couldn't get more than the asrock :o
I got the 320MB and I regret not spending a bit more for the 640MB but when I bought it I was playing at 1280x1024 :o
320MB is not enough for some games at 1680x1050 and sometimes the fraps drop a lot because of the video using system memory :(
