I can verify that even after a successful patch, you can continue to re-patch the drives after a reboot. The ONLY way (that I'm aware of) to functionally verify that the patch was successful is to use the SMART test (and even then, you can only really be certain when the test fails... you can...
The salient feature of that dump is the line "Bugcheck 109".
Error code 0x109 is CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION; not too helpful on its own. Try testing your memory with memtest86+ and updating all drivers.
Check with any local colleges or universities--many of them operate their own internal recycling program. You might be able to snag an old system that way.
Indeed--I just bought 3 for a small NAS I'm putting together to house my MythTV setup. Not a bad deal at all for 3 2TB drives for $284 shipped.
And as usual, the folks in Canada miss out...
Thought I would post an update since I've changed a few things. New speakers (Madisound Cygnet Mk. II kit), got a sub (AV123 X-sub, in front left corner of room), and trimmed down my equipment rack by getting rid of a few items.
Yep. I bought them. They came from GIK Acoustics--I can't recommend them enough. Glen and Bryan are fantastic guys to work with when planning out room treatments.
I just recently bought an AV123 x-sub. It doesn't ship until the 7th of December, though, so I can't tell you what I think of it just yet. However, it's gotten pretty decent reviews in the past.
Yeah, I decided to hold off on a speaker upgrade until I got at least some treatments in my room. Now it's time to do some in-room auditioning to figure out where I'm going next.
It's the LVM-37w3. Since I'm also using it as a PC monitor, I really wanted the added resolution of 1080p (the w2 is only 720p)--not to mention I got it for only $820 shipped.
I figured I would post an update now that I have some artwork on the walls and my bed lofted.

Yeah, I'm in the process of auditioning some nicer speakers. I still need to listen to a pair of AV123 x-ls and some Ascend C-170s. Really, though, I'm more of a headphone guy than a speaker guy...
I'm just about finished moving into my new room. There are still some boxes laying around, but it's mostly setup. Enjoy.

I don't have any problems with vibrations (I have some of that non-slide, rubbery-type matting under each speaker), though there is a noticeable hump centered around 100Hz from (I presume) resonance from the shelves. Since my computer is the only source I use, I fight the peak with EQ.
They were around $250 each about 3 years ago. They have since been discontinued. They are certainly a "fun" speaker, but nowhere near hi-fi.
The Yamaha receiver was purchased from a garage sale 4 years ago for the bargain price of $15.
