I installed clonezilla on my ubuntu server and so far it is working great......for all my wired computers. I can clone the workstations and have my backups. However, we have some desktops that are in new offices that are working off wireless adapters. Clonezilla does not support wireless from...
I have had an E8400 @ 3.6 ghz, and an E7400 @3.6ghz and the 8400 had better FPS in every game I have played. It didn't have a higher peak FPS, but it didn't have the lows like the 7400 did.
OK, the WMP12 thing worked, but does this make any sense. Shouldn't my SSD drive get a better score?

It is the Ultimate edition. I am not so worried about the WEI not working, or basing how fast my system is on it. It just makes me wonder what other things might have problems if I don't fix it.
I think I am using the N version, I will try the WMP12. What exactly is the difference? I just downloaded it from my technet account cause it had the newest date.
Q9550 @ 4ghz
Gigabyte E45-UD3P
4gb OCZ 1066 @ 471mhz
60gb OCZ Vertex

I didn't get this problem before, but I just upgraded from the RC version to the full version yesterday.
Has anyone else gotten the error when they try and run the windows experience index:
Cannot complete the requested assessment. This system does not have the necessary multi-media support to run the requested assessment.
To be honest 64 bit really doesn't have any advantages other than allowing more than 3gb or RAM. That being said, it wouldn't be a bad idea to give them the option in case they want to use their money to add RAM later on. Applications are using more and more ram these days. There is no price...
Is anyone else only able to download Windows 7 @ 56k speeds on technet? I haven't gotten higher than 7kb/s and it usually kicks my download after like 300mb. I had no problem downloading Vista or XP @ 500kb/s
Microsoft has fought back, just in a less obnoxious way. You know those commercials where they need to find a laptop that does what they need for under X amount of dollars, and they go to the apple laptops and say...this looks nice but is way too expensive.....
Over 90% of the real world...
I will let you know tonight whether it has one or not. I am picking one up at Best Buy after work. I think it also depends on how old the inventory they have is. Corsair is starting to send out the CWH50's which have the brackets for 1156 and 1366. I am getting mine for 775 so I am not worried...
Just as an FYI, if you live near a TigerDirect, they have the same deal going on this monitor. I only say this, cause I live near one and it is worth the Tax to take it home myself instead of USPS. But great deal either way...
I have a Q9300 that I don't really need as I don't have a single muti-threaded app that uses 4 cores. So I have decided to go with a dual core with a higher speed. The Q9300 is at 3ghz right now because I only have 800mhz ram. It should go higher as the temp idles anywhere from 35-42 depending...
To be honest, I don't think I need to use these. I don't really even stress my CPU except for video games. When I check my temp logs after I play, the temps never go over 53. So for me, my load temps are 50-53c. I have also gamed for a couple hours at a time to test it. Still never reaches 54.
It went down to 17s when I OC'ed to 3ghz. I don't really think my ram is very good at OC'ing. I might try higher, but these things run at 2.2V stock. Oh, and I also worry about my temps. This chip idles stock @ 41c, during games it gets to 46-47. At 3ghz it idles around 48-50 and during games...
Hey guys,
I have a Q9300 @ 2.7ghz(for now). I was just wondering if 19 seconds is about right for the 1M time? A while back I had seen some scores of 14 seconds IIRC. I don't plan on going past 3ghz cause for now I only have 800 ram.
Just wondering, thanks.

Hey guys,
I am deciding whether or not to get Left 4 Dead. It is getting great reviews from what I have read. In your educated opinions, do you believe my E4500, 2gb RAM, and 7800GT can handle this bad boy, or will it be unplayable?
TIA
For anyone who cares... The Microcenter in Chicago on Elston has A TON of i7 CPU's and MB's. They had about 10 Asus PQT boards, and 8 Intel boards. They had at least 30 processors sitting on the same table as the MB's. They also had a boatload of DDR3 ram. It didn't look like they have sold too...
I thought this was a pretty good deal from TigerDirect. I have on by me here in Chicago, so I will probably pick it up at the warehouse.
1080p and BlueRay player.
The downside is the 60hz and it probably isn't the best picture if it is priced that low, but for those of us who are still...
Yeah, the CSS engine puts a lot more stress on the CPU than the GPU, that is why you got a bigger jump from the OC. Unfortunately, a lot of newer games like Crysis, put more stress on the video card than the CPU.
From the looks of a lot of benchmarks, if you can get your 6400 to 3.2-3.4 than...
Does this only affect PCI cards or do the PCI-e cards fall into this patent? If they do, then this is a problem, if not, who cares? How many people own a PCI video card anyway?
Majority of store bought PC's are onboard. Majority of enthusiasts are on PCI-e and maybe a few laggers on AGP. PCI...
Unless you do a lot of networking stuff, like VPN, Vista should work just fine. I stick with the 32 bit version, but that is cause I don't see a difference in 64bit except some driver problems.
Windows is all up to date. I have tried using the software that comes with the adapter, but I don't seem to get connection in either Vista or XP when I use it and disable the windows one. I'll check on those patches though.
I have a D-Link dwa552 wireless card in my pc. I also have both vista and xp installed on my machine. When I am connected to the internet in vista, I have no problems. But when I am connected in XP I get disconnected all the time. I would say one per 10-20 minutes. And gaming on XP you might as...
