just remember though; as seen by Antec and their abandoned high quality Trio Power ....... once the knife gets too sharp and the product is crippled; "even a god king can bleed"
I apoligize for the cheezy shot :o
I think there is a substantial portion of the membership here though that would like to see some top notch grade units reviewed,
hell; anyone thats going to lay down the $$$$ for an E6600 or higher and 8800 GTS and above really arent or shouldnt be...
may be much safer to test PSU;s from manufacturers that dont have the "big gun" engineers that will "correct" you when you are wrong during your testing procedures
test the seasonic & PC power & Cooling
sure they wont give you any freebies >>>> they dont need to!
I agree with JG 100%
if you are dishing out all that money to buy high powered video cards, why take a chance trashing your system with marginal sized or quality units ?
especially when JG has so many excellent reviews on better choices to run such a rig?
if you want to really save...
Ok then pray tell; if the quality of the general build doesnt need to be higher and the wiring more of a premium nature then why doesnt the Ultra 1000 make the 85% eff grade ???
if its nothing of conseqence to make the 85% mark, hell why not do it ? and the extra heat produced with...
the OCZ 700 will do the job just fine; but there isnt the overkill that many think their is with this unit
#1 >>> its not rated at 50C; which often translates to its wattage claims are attained at 25C temps
#2 I recently read a review at toms hardware where the actual wattage is really...
I would respectfully disagree with that response. Higher efficeincy units are just plain built better, it takes a higher level of quality across the board to achieve the energy savings.
Which over the coarse of three years (average warranty period) can easily account for the difference in...
The Seasonic 600 has slightly better "guts" than the Corsair 620 but the Corsair is a great unit too
dont get buyers remorse, you bought a great unit that will run your system very easily and forever!
The antec true power 550 was known for having saggy 12volt droop
the antec TRIO power line is by far much better & different OEM that manufacturers them!
basically for about the same price you can get the trio 650 the trio OEM is alos Seasonic but the trio is much quieter and the efficiency is better
I would eagerly go with the TP-3 650 over the Neo offereing but the Neo is no junker!
and yes the Corsair HX 620 is another great...
I was concerned abit by the diff in exaust temps under the torture test when comparing the Ultra X3 1000 watt and thermal take toughpower 1200
both testing the same way in the torture test, both at an 80% load yet the TT showed notably favorable exaust temps over the Ultra. Although the TT...
perhaps ???????????
I just didnt know if this was customary, 3 weeks for RMA seems long to me, thats not the shipping time included either.
how many of us still have the original sales receipt after 8 months of ownership?
I guess I may be in for realignment on my thinking...
Has anyone in here had any experience returning a PSU to fortron
I have a collegue that RMA'd a 450 watt unit to them, it took over 3 weeks, he had to show original purchase  and he no longers lives at home, he is away at college, they would not send the unit to him at school, they...
Hey Fellas:
check out this fairly new utility I stumbled accross, its the fastest utility I have even used with windows. and it has a freeware version!
It does a registry scanner, temp files cleaner, spyware scanner, system analaysis and more!
lightening fast let me know if...
two options for ya:
there are several vendors on ebay that sell bios chips that are very fast shippers. Just go to ebay and perform a search for "bios chip"
or if you know someone with the exact same board you can hot swap flash it ???
You should definitely try another PSU; the lights operating on the motherboard are a far cry from being any sort of pass / fail analysis. Coupled with PSU pins that look to have been cooked would definitely warrant a try with another PSU; make sure you try a good quality 550 watt psu or larger...
the 127 gig barrier you are experiencing is a bios limitation caused by the lack of 48bit LBA
update your bios for your motherboard if you were stuck at 137gig thats the windows OS barrier which is cured with SP 1 & 2 you can download & install sp-2 then install a drive larger...
I agree with u0pt 100% >>>> that a great quality PSU but I would not spend any effort playing with the adjustments >>>>> other than to tweak them to specified ratings of your system >>>>> other than that the boards voltage regulator is going to "try"to compensate for any exteme adjsutments...
there are also a bios flashing "how to" at www.bootdisk.com (on the main page ) that explains the procedure of flashing your bios with a cd-rom drive the worst way to flash a bios is from within windows >>>>> I now avoid like the clap !!
http://www.bootdisk.com/txtfiles/flashcd.txt
Asrock makes one >>>> and if memory serves me correctly Asus has a model that is either >>> agp or PCI-express

IMHO cache size at this point in the hardware generation is really a useless condiseration >>>>> the cache only makes a difference for a milli second >>>> one the 8mgs are filled the drive then dumps the cache and begins the write process >>>>> wheter your cache is full at 8mgs or 16mgs when...
There is some very credibile advice given by poster above about PSU. But then again Maxtor drives are at the VERY bottom of the food chain >>>>> their sales strategy is cheap drives >>>> not quality drives >>>> same old same old you get what you pay for !!
And for those that cant...
xxclone can clone both ways a 120 gig drive to a 250 aqnd visa versa >>>>> providing of course the amount of actual data does not exceed the size of the smaller drive
i.e. clone a 250 gig (source drive) with 100 gigs of info >>>> it can clone that to a 120 gig drive
it can clone...
Your raid will not get messed up as long as your replace with the exact same model motherboard >>>>>> if you upgrade or alter the motherboard chipset model or brand >>>> then yeah you will get sucked into rebuilding and lsoing your array.
good luck
No the MSI line is not crappy >>>>>>>> they are very good actually >>>>>> given the fact that you have now furnished us with more info >>>> I can say for sure the MSI board you have listed is a very good choice.
enjoy:
Hello:
you can also go to ebay and do a search for "bios chip" look for a vendor named ANGELIB I have used him many times excellent communicator and very fast shipping >>>>> usually costs about $10.00 to $15.00 with shipping. Far faster than Asus; although thats a good appraoch...
