Hell no I love the thing!! It's just that after a day or 2 the huge size is not that "overwhelming" anymore. My ex gf said the same once, come to think of it... :D
i just tested flash mx 2004 here and i notice no problems. not with small flash files nor with huge ones. My best guess right now is that it would be a video driver issue don't you think?
this is my office in the evening: http://www.e-volutionmedia.nl/temp/dell2405.jpg (2 week old photo)
during the day its brighter. but because every monitor is different my exact settings wont always work for the next guy. I found it pretty dim as well, however it is correct. It's really one or...
Here is a little update on my color settings for you graphic designers out there!

Only usefull thing on there are the drivers which you can also DL from the dell site can't you? The other thing is a specs and Q/A sheet that's the same as on the website.
But you could always order a new cdrom from dell I guess
I have a mx1000 a GF 6800gt but dont have this problem at all. It might be worth testing what happends when you go to you display properties > settings > advanced > troubleshoot and DISable "Enable write combining". I keep that off cause the games run faster for me with it disabled.
Why would you want to do a thing like that? The monitor runs at 1920x1200 nativly not 1680x1050.
For what it's worth to you my nvidia 6800 GT does support 1680 and so does my ati radeon 9700 card in my laptop. it's the laptops native resolution. but im using very old drivers on it (6.14)...
My original foot didnt have any sagging at all to be honost, it was perfectly leveled.
This stand cost me 91 euros, so it should be around $90 i'd say.

I just love the screen! I Also own a lacie 22" CRT for graphics work but the 2405 even seems to have a much wider color range and much better contrast and sharpness! I dont know what crack people have been smoking that think it looks washed out but they might have to spend some time adjusting...
When playing High Definition video material i see some small glitches in the video (only in the video!). I tried different video players, all with the same result.
Anyone else experienced this? Wonder what is causing this..
It actually does NOT look like crap out of native mode, it scales very nicely. you can choose to keep a 4:3 aspect ratio throught the screens' menu if you prefer though.
Double post this is, but i know people here want to know about this here too.
Allright! I got my pixel perfect 2405 in today and have been working on the color settings to get a result that is as close to my Lacie 22 blue IV CRT monitor as possible.
I have to say that the colors this dell...

I have to say that the colors this dell beauty can produce are really astounding. Although I really love the default SRGB...
Ah, don't you worry, they just need to get used to it (bunch of wussies j/k). I currently have a 22" crt lacie and when i just got it i was overwhelmed by the size but after a day or 2 you'll be used to it and want something bigger :)
A lot of big American corporations are starting to focus more on Europe because there is more money to be made there now thanks to Georgies oil war. And don't forget that Samsung, the maker of this LCD, is not exactly an american company either. H'm lets see, hey they are Korean. ;)
i am the guy with the lacie but youll have to wait about a week before i get mine in unfortunatly. In the meantime aren't there any other designers in here that got it in already?
Btw, I also ordered a calibration spider today which is also supposed to calibrate lcd monitors. But they had to...
That's just what i was wondering about.. I'm currently on a 22" CRT and the 2405 almost looks small to me.. hope its just the pictures. Could someone tell me what the height of the actual screen itself is (so just the viewable area)?
I ordered this calibrator today: Lacie Blue Eye 2
Works with both crt and lcd.its around $250 here in holland ussually (I paid 200) it sais $278 on the lacie site.
(Off topic: I noticed the last couple of months that, for the first time ever, hardware is getting cheaper for us in europe...
