I have been having some issues with my desktop computer for quite some time now when it comes to connecting to my house network and the internet. It has a Crosshair I R.o.G. motherboard and for some reason the computer is not recognizing either of the ethernet ports on the board, not sure why...
I have some timeshare weeks that I will not be using this year, so I figured I would post them for sale in case somebody wants to take a nice vacation to Mexico this year. When you can go is based on Availability, but you can NOT go Christmas to New Years with this deal.
Occidental Allegro...
Alright so these have been sitting around for a long time now and I haven't played any of them in years. If somebody wants to give them a better place to live and actually play them you are welcome to any of them..

Thought it would be cool to start a thread where you could post a unique mod you did, also a place people can get some cool ideas as to what to do to their computer.
Now, I'm not looking for fully modded cases but small things, much like the individual sleeving of power cable wires. Or maybe...
I am thinking I may have to upgrade my motherboard here in the near future and was just wondering, will a newer say am3 motherboard be backwards compatible with a am2 socket cpu? I currently have a Athlon 64 x2 5000+ and don't have enough money to spend on both a motherboard and cpu at the same...
Some of you may have seen my older threads about the graphics card issues I had been having. Once I got the replacement GTS450 I noticed that the card was not able to "start" based on what hardware manager was telling me in windows. I found to come out that the power supply I was using was short...
I found some of my old CCFLs and want to throw them into my case again, but the way I want to position everything the wires from the ccfl rod itself it to "ballast" are too short. Are they any special type of wire or is it just a basic 16awg wire? and is there any problem with cutting them and...
I have been trying to determine whether my power supply is actually dead or not. Unfortunately I don't have another "high power" power supply to throw into my computer in order to test to see if the power supply is actually bad or not. My friend has a 400W power supply which he is willing to...
I've been having some issues with my computer and have ruled out the graphics card as the reason, issues are graphics related. After talking with EvGA's tech support the guy mentioned it may be my power supply going bad. So I am just wondering what are the signs of a dead power supply?
I...
So.. I RMA'd my 7950 gt ko out due to the fan going out on it and EvGA sent me a 8800gt 512mb. I threw it in my desktop today, and got all the drivers downloaded and such and got the computer up and running right again.
Well i played a little bit of doom (30-45 mins ish) and no problems at...
I was having this problem a few weeks ago on a Soundblaster card, so I took that card out and put in the sound card that came with with my motherboard (Asus Crosshair 1) and still can't seem to get any audio from the right channel. Faded the volume all the way right and it's just quiet no music...
Noticed this a month or two ago when I cleaned my case for the first time in a long while. I do believe it's from the fan malfunctioning, as there was not a large amount of dust on the card. It was fairly clean when I cleaned the case out which actually surprised me.
Anybody else have had...
Alright so I was sand blasting a case to get some old paint off the do some work to it.. and after while sand blasting one of the side panels I noticed it was starting to warp. one of the panels corners ended up being bent upwards (interior side started to fold over).
Is there anyway to fix...
The PCI-E cable coming from my PSU is kind of short for my case and I was thinking about taking off the sleeving cutting the wires and soldering in some more wire then of course re-sleeving etc.
Has anybody done this before?
I am just wondering why graphics cards coolers are facing down, woulnd't it make more sense for them to face up and have the fan pulling heat away from the heatsink upwards (the natural way heat moves). *Of course if the gpu was on top*
Just kind of wondering if anybody knows why it is this way?
I am trying to install Windows Server 2003 on a server that I recently got and the computer for some reason will not boot off the setup cd.
I downloaded Windows Server 2003 here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=d8eecd75-1fc4-49e5-bc66-9da2b03d9b92
And burned...
My mom's work recently upgraded to all new servers and were going to throw the old ones simply in the trash. My mom asked if we could get one for a home server and they said sure.
Only problem is there is a Administrator password login screen and I don't know the password nor does my mom's...
Well the fan on my 7950GT is on it's way out, so seeing as I can pick up a new card for slightly more than what it costs to get a new heatsink/fan I think I am going to go that route. Looking to keep it around $100.
I was recommended a used GTX 260 by a few members. But I was looking on...
Well the fan on my ancient 7950GT HS decided it doesn't want to spin unless given some incentive to spin now so I think that I am going to be looking at getting a new HS all together. I'm not sure what are good as far as coolers but I was looking at this Zalman one, seeing as Zalman seems to be...
To start, this is my first real modding of a case so the craftsmenship might not be perfect. Also there will be a good amount of pictures, fair warning. Also, don't ask about the color scheme on the lian li... It will be changed shortly.
This is part one of the worklog, the Apevia case work...
Well, I just swapped my rig into a "New" case and just fired it up to see a GPU temperature of 93*C at idle... I really don't remember it being that high in the other case. Does this seem like a little high for you guys?
Note: Using rivatuner I bumped the Fan speed from 40% to 75% and it seems...
I'm looking into building a computer, nothing crazy, but the only piece I am missing is a PSU. I basically am looking to figure out how to determine what size PSU I am going to need for this build.
The build will consist of these main components...
Well, my dad is always complaining about how slow is computer is, and I hate how slow it is when I actually need to use his computer, so I have decided maybe i'll build him a new faster one. The one is he using now is a hand-down from my moms work that is pretty slow.
My question is, what...
Like I've said in my other thread I am not exactly new to the computer world, but the little details I am sorta a noob at, ex: cooling items etc.
I'm just wondering what makes a CPU heatsink, and a heatsink in general, good? I didn't see any stickies that could point me in the right...
Well I just recently hooked my desktop back up after not using it for like 3 months and now there is only music out of the left speaker and not the right. The last time I used it, 3 months ago, it worked fine and no issues at all.
I have moved the sound card from one pci slot to another to see...
Well, I'm not new to the computer world, just never been registered on here before. But I have always wondered,
How do you determine how to setup your fans in your case?
LIke, how do you know which ones to use for intakes/exhausts?
My current case has (2) 80mm fans and a single 120mm on...
