hmm, how would I know sure.
I thought there was something fishy with the RAM error, cause I just ran memtest86 for 9hours! straight and no errors, while the RAM is in the second slot. but when I run it in the first slot I get loads of errors, why is this.
and is there a way to know sure...
well it's a smartpower 350Watt which came with the SLK3700BQE(not my idea, thank my dad)
I ran memtest, RAM in first slot = crapload of errors in first cycle, RAM in second slot = 2 clean cycles.
I thought it was a go and proceeded to install windows, I got to the part where the install...
hi guys, I just got my new pc in, specs:
AM2 3200, Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe, 7900GT, OCZ platinum DDR2-800 and a samsung P120 200GB
now I'm trying to setup windows but I get this error after formating, I think it's when it's searching for the source files:
"the following value in the...
hello everyone,
I'd like to buy a new HD for my pc, it has an Asus A7N8X-8X socket A mobo, I was wondering what interface HD I need for this and if I can just add it to the already existing 60 GB.
thanks in advance.
... what chips PQI memory uses, it seems like a pretty low-budget brand, but I'd like to see what memory chips they use so I can see if they oc nicely.
any info would be appreciated.
I found this on the MSI website, it's just for the MSI K9N SLI (platinum) but atleast it's something.
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=729
(scroll down a bit to see the chart)
I think the cheaper Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400 not C4 should work aswell...
well here, there's a 2 difference in price between those RAMS
and both of them are tested w K9N SLI so that's good,
which one would you choose then?
I think I'm leaning towards the ballistix,
and how bout that guide? :p
so which would you suggest? the corsair or the ballistix? I love the look of the ballistix.
oh and Eclipse, any chance of you writing an AM2/DDR2 oc guide? that would be awesome!

yeah I read a couple reviews and they both said they couldn't get far.
One got to 255 FSB and no higher
these were the sticks used

is this a good/bad overclock, because I'd like to get those with an AM2 3000 to oc it to some...

whoa great!,
Here in Holland, prices on single cores have gone down 20-35 euro!
the AM2 3800 is now the same price as the 3200 was yesterday! :D
*waits for 4000 to get to 130 euro*
...what, a guy can dream
Hello again,
Which one of these would be best?
DDR2 PC-5400 4-4-4-12
http://www.newegg.com/Product/CustRatingReview.asp?Item=N82E16820141210
or
DDR2 PC-4200 3-3-3-8
http://www.newegg.com/Product/CustRatingReview.asp?Item=N82E16820141202
both have lifetime warranty and will...
seeing that, I think it's better for me just to get an AM2 board,
I also found that the Arctic Cooling freezer 64 Pro fits on the AM2 boards, so that's good
Thanks for the help :)
I've been looking at AM2 and it seems to be around the same price, so I thought of this,
MSI K9N SLI Platinum
AMD Athlon 3200+
PQI Turbo Memory DDR2 pc-4200
7900GT
anything uncompatible?
there's a PC-5400 module also available, what would be the advantages of that?
and what heatsinks...
hello,
my problem: I was planning on getting a 939 set up:
AMD Athlon 3700+
Asrock 939SLI32-Esata2 mobo
7900GT
1 gb OCZ Platinum EL
but the AM2's seem to be priced nicely, but since there are no AM2 budget mobo's it wouldn't be SLI compatible, the DDR2 timings are slower too, but I...
it states that some guy got it before the release date, some info about it being 2 7900GTX's, it seems there was a little trouble getting it to work in windows and they had to alter some .inf file. temps: 67 degrees centigrade with benchmarks, 47 degrees centigrade idled,
then they say it's...
to not have something suggested that is way out of my price range(since the prices are different here), these are the choices I have, everything else is 30-100 euro's more
http://www.azerty.nl/producten/product_detail/160/7884/evga-geforce-7900-gt-ko-256-mb-ddr3-pci-express-x16.html
just look at the price, thanks for the help, but I gave 3 specific cards for a reason.
I'm looking for the best price/quality ratio and I decided not to go with any fancy stock overclocked stuff, just because they seem to have some trouble and ofcourse they're more expensive.
choices:
Asus EN7900GT
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814121003...
ah mk
so
Samsung Syncmaster 997MB
http://www.ncix.com/products/index....facture=Samsung
or Philips 109B60
http://www.epcbuyer.com/products.asp?recnumber=3364
TIA
how would the philips compare to thise one?
Samsung SyncMaster 997MB
http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=15618&vpn=LH19ISBBHQ&manufacture=Samsung
again price is negligable, so it's just the quality that matters
yeah, I found it on a dutch site, thought it might be nice to give you an english site so you could understand what's going on :p ,
there's a 2 euro price difference so it's negligable, but if the refresh rate is faster I guess that draws me over the line
thanks
so, 2 choices
Acer AL1717AS TFT 17 inch
http://www.pricerunner.co.uk/computing/peripherals/monitors/511868/details
or the Philips 109B60 19 inch CRT
http://www.epcbuyer.com/products.asp?recnumber=3364
the main advantage of the CRT is that it gets to 1600X1200 at 75 HZ, which sounds...
thanks Ren, good luck to you too.
I think this thread is now rendered useless since you guys helped me a lot in every way and I'm very glad you did.
thanks for the help everyone that helped!
I have the exactMat+exactRest and a copperhead, the exactMat won't fit on this crap thing where my pc is standing on, so I'll have to wait to get a new desk before I can use it, I have tried it for a little while and it's a lot nicer then the cheap pad I'm using now.
