So many TY-140s in that case. Very awesome. I have the Silver Arrow as well and it is fantastic. I wonder if there's any difference between putting the fans like you have compared to mine which are in the front and center slots of the cooler.

Trying To Decide Between Two Laptop Models

Reading up there right now, and connecting to a TV might be the deal breaker. I'd probably rather spend 125 more and have all the horsepower I need than not have that option ever. That'd be cheaper than buying a separate HTPC as well. I'll try to find some real examples of people using the...

Trying To Decide Between Two Laptop Models

The Intel HD Graphics 3000 is the default choice. For $100 more, I get the 6490M. For $125 more, I get the 6770M. If I'm not gaming, which I do not intend to really be doing on this system, is there any other reason to get the video card or should I save the hundred bucks? Does it impact...

Trying To Decide Between Two Laptop Models

I'm trying to see what I use that would even implement all of those cores. Handbrake is used for encoding video on my desktop, but I don't plan on switching over to the laptop for that task. Other than that, I think most programs I use are strictly dual core as of now so the higher clock speed...

Trying To Decide Between Two Laptop Models

I am a Teaching Assistant at a University this semester, and I can no longer only rely on my desktop. The time has come to get something more portable. These are the two configurations I have come up with to choose between, and I'm trying to decide if the more expensive model is worth the...

Would have gone with the Asus STX myself, but damn that is going to be a sweet rig.

    Corsair: 650D

I'm using a 120mm Scythe S-Flex at 800RPM, which is rated for 33.5CFM at 8.7db. Would the 200mm make that much of a difference? Mounting the Scythe wasn't a problem at all, and I cannot hear it. Just a thought, if you really find dealing with a 200mm intake to be that much of a hassle.

Because it's overnight shipping and they're made out of titanium and come with full acoustic dampening?

Sent you a reply Bruce! Any idea how much this mesh side panel is gonna cost? I'm tempted to get one and just try it out to see what it does for my CPU. That combined with Fall/Winter coming = much cooler PC. :)

    Corsair: 650D

There are plenty of fans you could use on the mesh side panel (whenever it becomes available) that would be practically inaudible. I'm very curious as to how much of a difference it would make on the CPU temps. I'm fine with my GPU temps, but if you're running SLI or Crossfire you'd probably...

    Corsair: 650D

I took off the front panel, unscrewed everything just because that made it easier to handle. I then removed the cables by simply lifted them up and out. Pretty sure you can remove everything. All I have left are the audio ports and 2 usb ports. Everything else was gutted. Wow. That board...

    Corsair: 650D

Mine are both horizontal toward the back still. My top is exhaust, as is the rear fan. I haven't had the time to experiment with orienting it in a vertical fashion. Has anyone else done this and noticed a significant difference? I recently went from 2x2GB to 2x4GB, so I'm trying to do...

    Corsair: 650D

What you might lose (and I say might) to other cases regarding airflow could be negligible unless you are under circumstances where every single degree matters for the stability of your system. This system can also become much more quiet than several other cases people have mentioned having...

    Corsair: 650D

Oh I agree completely. I was and still am ridiculously impressed with the case and have no regrets about paying the premium for it when I did. Can't believe I put up with my old Antec clunker for so long. For anyone building a system right now that does not absolutely require a full tower...

I will be sure to get back to you about the games. That'd be a great first time at the park for sure. Especially with the turnaround the Braves have made and how insane the pitching is. I really appreciate the offer. The site says the GTX 460 mounts up, but they sell those attachments which...

    Corsair: 650D

Still around! Haven't gotten around to grabbing those MK-13 adapters, so I still have one Noctua fan sitting around. Things are very quiet, not silent but damn near close. I honestly am not sure what difference putting any acoustic foam would make. Currently working on rebuilding my OS...

    Corsair: 650D

Are there no reviews for the H100 anywhere at all yet? Off topic, but right now I am running 4GB of RAM. This used to be the sweet spot, but now it seems that 8GB is more than worth it. Only thing holding me back is I am unsure of what 2x4GB kit to get that will allow me to keep my current...

Either this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103073 Or ask Redbeard to send you a new one. I'd say I'd send you one of mine that I'm not using, but I'm trying to barter with Redbeard to hook me up with a discount or a side panel. He did say he'd do what it took to...

Can I return my 2 200mm fans for a gift card or a solid side panel?
  23. J

    Corsair: 650D

It's not heavy at all I would say. It was rather light until I put my Silver Arrow and 4 hard drives and PSU in it. Definitely easier to deal with than the Antec P180. As for cumbersome, not really. I slide it out from under my desk, I pick it up, I lay it down to operate on, I put the side...

I would recommend one of these: http://www.prolimatech.com/en/products/detail.asp?id=159&subid=688 I would say that the Accelero Xtreme GTX Pro would be an option, but a lot of people have issues with VRM cooling which would be extremely problematic. The MK-13 plus a Thermalright TY-140...

Depends on how much you want to spend, how much noise you are willing to tolerate, and what your temps are now. Need more info about your setup.

    Corsair: 650D

Good points Bruce. I might try the Notctua/Silver Arrow Switcheroo. Right now I'm using the Megaflow as the top exhaust. Also, regarding the MK-13, looks like I need one of these: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12117/cpu-pro-21/Prolimatech_MK-13_Adapter_Kit_-_nVidia_GTX_460.html I'll...

    Corsair: 650D

I will look into what I can do with it. Maybe there is some sort of bracket or mounting element needed. In the meantime I gotta find a place for the leftover Noctua fan. Do I need the resistor on it no matter what?
  28. J

    Corsair: 650D

Bruce, not sure what the deal is but the MK-13 would not fit properly on the GTX 460. The mounting bracket underneath just doesn't match up right. Was frustrating after taking it all apart only to be thwarted. On the plus side I did apply new thermal paste to the stock cooler which took off...

    Corsair: 650D

So what would your recommended configuration for the 650D be?
  32. J

    Corsair: 650D

Haha Bruce my system is pretty solid now. I would loveeee an SSD, but I don't know if they are at at prince point which I find acceptable just yet. Not for 512GB at least. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but I know once I get that speed I'm going to want it for everything. I have yet to find time...

    Corsair: 650D

The only part of that description I would agree with is the hard drive trays. Those are flimsy and brittle. I've broken at least two of them basically from looking at them. Other than that, the case is rock solid.
  35. J

    Corsair: 650D

No problem at all. Right now I have the megaflow as a top exhaust with the noctua resistor on it, one of the noctua fans doing rear exhaust, and the scythe s-flex doing front intake. I may or may not switch the noctua and the sycthe. Or maybe take the resistor off the Megaflow. So many...

I really appreciate it. I was not expecting so much awesome stuff. Good to know there are some nice people out there in the world. About to install and move fans around. The MK-13 will be the last thing I do. Gotta take a look and see what the optimal configuration for things is. Right...

    Corsair: 650D

I'll be installing the fans in a little while. Not sure when I'll get around to the MK-13, but I am excited to see how much better performance I get. I've got so many fans now, just gotta decide what goes where. I'm like a kid with Lincoln Logs, but instead I'm playing with a multi...

Yes, they are all removable. You have to take them out of the black box they sit in after you've taken off the front panel. The only connectors I have in mine currently are the USB 2.0 slots. Everything else is gone.
