Why doesn't he compare overclock for overclock? A 8350 at near 5ghz scores almost 30% faster than his 1090t in multithreaded cinebench. http://www.techhum.com/amd-showcase-fx-8350-at-5ghz-near-idf/That would be the most fair comparison. But when you have an agenda you skew the results to...
What benchmarks? These from some random Chinese guy nobody knows? Also please provide some proof on power consumption for Vishera since you seem to know it's power consumption when overclocking.
He never mentioned measuring performance. I think he's saying benchmarks aren't everything. For example SSD's. There are multiple different ones, you can't run tons of benchmarks to see which one is the absolute fastest, but you probably couldn't tell a difference between most of them. I got...
So if a chip were 10% lower in IPC but could clock 50% higher at the same power usage that wouldn't be "looking good"? Not saying Trinity can, but just because something has a low IPC does not make it look bad. Just like a high IPC high that can't clock high is bad.
"In a move than could very well be interpreted as exchanging one problem for another, Advanced Micro Devices has decided to stop focusing so much on the PC business and get its act closer together on the mobile front. "
This thread needs retitled. It does not say AMD is getting out of CPU's...
Wouldn't say sucks. It's pretty even with there previous processor. Was it what they were promising, no. Can it get there, yes. Do I need to jump off a bridge because OMG FAILDOZER, IT'Z SO HO33IBLE, no.
Yeah, performance kinda sucks. But it's bad performance is overblown. Just like this review it's not a catastrophe. From review "The desktop Bulldozer benchmarks were a horror show performance for AMD. The newest and greatest architecture often failed to beat its predecessor, let alone the...
What do you want them to say, that there stuff is crap? When was the last time a company was pushing a product and told you it wasn't good? Just look at actors pushing their movies, all of them are so awesome. Do you boycott everything?
My point was to the fact c3k said things would be different if they called their modules as cores instead of each module as 2 cores like they currently do. That wouldn't change benchmarks, that wouldn't change the fact that AMD misrepresented performance, or won't change anything about the chips.
"If they'd labelled the cores as being 1/2 the number they list on the packaging, I bet no one would say they'd failed."
Who cares about core count? If it were 100 core or a single core it's about performance vs. cost. If it's one big core and performed like the 8150 would it be an awesome...
Still true cores regardless of how crappily they perform. They share more parts then traditional chips. On some motherboards you can actually disable one of the cores on each module, so in reality you could run an 8150 as an actual single core, or as you would say "½ core". Sandy Bridge...
Windows 8 actually does exist. It's likely to be released sometime in 2012, hardly talking about years away. Not to mention SB and BD will hardly be old and irrelevant. You still have a q6600 which is what 5 years old. If BD will be old and irrelevant in a year how are you holding onto such...
Really? Sales off so you actually couldn't. You use a deeply discounted sales price at a store that there is not too many of and then you jack up the sales price by $50 of an unreleased processor. Avg. selling price of a 2500k is around $210, the recommended price of the 8150 is going to be...
I am going to air cool my 700d and was planning on adding a ZALMAN BR123 which is pretty cool and cheap if my cards run hot. You can add up to 3 of your own fans and blow directly onto the cards from the side. If that doesn't help it then I plan on cutting a side window. Still have yet to...
I'm using a G1 without a data plan. Even got it from T-Mobile for $179 about a year or so ago. Just dropped the data plan after a few days and they didn't even charge me for it. The phone is a little slow but works pretty well overall through wifi.
Oh noe the sky is falling. Everyone it's the end of the world. Intel going to 32nm before AMD and Nvidia coming out with a card nobody knows anything about isn't a surprise.
I'm using mine for a WHS build. I have 2 open PCI x8 slots, 3 PCI x1 slots, and 10 sata's. I have the potential for a 30 HDD or higher build using cheap software raid cards.
You could always demo WHS to see if it's what you need. I think you can do a 120 day demo or something like that. Also, Unraid is another good option that gives you a 1 drive protection. I'd definitely stay away from hardware raid, especially if you are wanting to go cheap. Hell a 8 port...
There is always a balance that they have. Have you looked at a Dell system. Cheap motherboard, cheap PSU, cheap video card. They are not high end quality systems unless you order them as such. Plus with tech products manufacturers are always selling products with an unknown reliability...
