Like I said before, I was just thinking they could require a scan of ID or schedule as a deterent. Not that people couldn't fake that, but it would deter people away that don't have the technical expertise. I was assuming it was something along those lines.
Yeah, I've found the student discount rates for her school but I don't see how they can verify it online. Maybe ask for a ID scan or a current class schedule? At the store, of course they can just ask for ID.
How does the student discount work? I am not in school anymore but my girlfiend is.... how does she prove she's a student since I may have her buy it for me?
I know, it's killer waiting for Leopard. I'm in the same situation. I'd like to buy a Macbook now but don't want to shell out the money only to have Apple release the new OS a month down the road.
Then again, I could be waiting until June.
Hmmm, such a strange problem. It works fine under load here at work but I will say that the PC I powered would not be as large a load. Even so, it's more than a few fans and it worked connected to a motherboard consistently.
I get absolutely nothing on my home PC.
I've got an older 480 Antec NeoPower. I just moved into a new apartment and box will no longer start up with this PSU installed (or even sitting beside the case by itself). I have shorted it and placed a few fans on it for load and it comes right up outside of the case. I've used another power...
I really need to block streaming media on my network. I'd like to do it solely by blocking ports. Can someone give me some tips on how to block streaming from my network? Maybe a comprehensive port listing? It seems there are tons of ports and even port 80 can be used.
How can I prevent...
just checked reseller ratings.....
Atacom isn't the best but decent.

The board listed there is not the 754 model, it's 939.
I don't feel like the difference is huge on about 3 different models that I've tried. It's really more of a crisp solid picture versus the VGA image quality. No analog conversion has got to be a good thing regardless. If you can get a cable relatively cheap (or free) then you certainly won't...
I've got some major issues w/the above 250 GB external drive I just bought. I recently ALMOST lost my whole media drive so I was scared straight like many are in terms of backups.
My problems are two fold:
1). The buffalo software is awful in my opinion. It frequently locks up and won't...
hahaha, agreed
you'd have to admit it's ridiculous that everyone is getting bent out of shape about this stuff, i guess it means your life is good when that's all you've got to be upset about
Who knows? This whole debate is stupid b/c only Nintendo knows how big it's cock is and when they're ready to whip it out. To think Nintendo hasn't been preparing for the next gen is pretty crazy though.
The xbox was essentially a typical single core x86 PC in a black/green box. Never said THAT was hard to develop for.
It's obviously developers will have some legwork learning these new systems/architectures.
i don't agree that they have nothing. What they have is certainly not as powerful as the other two and so they elect not to flash the specs around in fear of being laughed out the building. However, it's not all about specs and it'll be just as easy to develop for as the GC was.... can't say...
it really does make sense for them to distribute games this way, hopefully this means we'll be able to download the real games as well at some point.... i'm guessing the size of the games will hinder this from happening anytime soon
oh there's no doubt they'll be taking a hit, but they'll do it anyway to make sure they move consoles
it is interesting that Nintendo wants to take the low cost approach again, but current get gamecube hardware was up to snuff against the rest this time around
i'm hoping Nintendo knows...
Guess that answers the question about why we didn't get specs.... it's not as powerful as the 360 or PS3. He puts a spin on the question but it's obvious from his answer. Tech specs aren't the end all but it does make you think what exactly is under the hood...
I was actually a little disappointed. I guess I was expecting that Nintendo would unveil a little more about their console.... kinda makes you think there isn't much to show yet and/or it's not as impressive as what we've seen from the other 2. No specs, on controller, no games..... no excitement.
recently it was just REVEALED to me that the Revolution will be backward compatible, and I did post something earlier about the actual Revolution being REVEALED .... calm down man, i never said it was the same but it does relate to details about the Revolution being REVEALED
I thought the only format they would take are the smaller DVDs, I can't tell the real size of those DVDs from the picture. It's not like Nintendo to use a totally open format for their game media.
The system is very sexy, but it does make me wonder if it'll be blown away in terms of...
Yes, AGP really does limit things. I have a 6800NU that is AGP and i'm finding that I wish I had got the PCIe version.
I'd be interested which boards people recommend for socket 939 w/AGP as well.
yeah the good ol days are gone.... G4 has been moving the Screen Savers further and further away from it's originally intended audience, now it's so different that had to change the name... and the other new Kevin on the show, he's an @ss
the new shows sucks, hard
