OMG ... I really am getting old
So yeah, it helps if you have the HDMI port you are plugging into on your reciever turned ON in the reciever software.
I am an idiot ... sorry to have taken up your time.
Thx for the help though :)
Ok .. so went straight from the GTX to the TV ... worked fine
So why won't my reciever allow the passthrough?
Again, the problem is that if I do it this way I can't use the home theater audio.
Wow ... fast triggers there guys
I will give it a shot but that'll leave the audio out of the loop which will kind of defeat the purpose (unless I am missing something again)
So it dawned on me today as I was playing Crysis 3 that it would be a hoot to play this on my TV. I lugged the tower into the family room, ran an HDMI from the 680 port to an open port on the Denon reciever and fired it all up ..... nothing. Best I get is a brief "No Signal" message from the...
Just wanted to give an update and thanks for Corsair. I got my 8500C5Ds just moments ago from UPS.
Corsair has gone above and beyond the call of duty here. I had THOUGHT of going with some other companies with my recent build (G-Skill and OCZ come to mind) but stayed with Corsair as they...
Hey hey, wasn't meant as a complaint, just a question if you all were in or not this week, thats all.
Got an email from Marisol and will be calling in the AM with my info.
Thx for the fast reply though. :)
Is the Corsair office out on vacation this week?
I send my memory in via FedEx and showed they recieved it on Friday 12/22/6. Now I know its the holidays and all but its now the 27th and I have not heard ANYTHING from them, even reguarding just recieving the memory. I fired off an email...
I'm not talking about doing a soldering job, I was thinking of more like a BIOS boost.
I had seen the article but they never say how much they increased the voltage to by doing that modification.
I was thinking of thermal adhesive, but that is REALLY perminant. I haven't had any issues with this setup since I made sure it was in place (pulled down, pushed on). Its not like it moves on its own or anything. MCP is pretty much a constant 40C, so its good.
If you have any better ideas...
LIGHTS, WATER, ACTION!!!!!!
More to come (and a little more wire management.)
I did some finetuning and was able to get 3.6 solid so:
The secret was to bump the SPP to 1.55. Have not had any issues since then. I could probably bump the CPU even...
Cooling the MCP (SB) on the 680i is a bit of a bitch with a 8800GTX. Bluntly it was REALLY poor planning on Nvidia's part. I had been thinking about this for weeks now as the MCP does need cooling but I didn't want to put a little chipset screamer down there.
SO, I did a little cutting work...
While I have done some minor moding in the past (mostly blowholes) I've decided to make a run with this case.
The case is a P180B w/window. I am not only going to watercool this thing and run with a red lighting motif, but I've decided to go with a Dark Side Star Wars theme.
In order to...
Does anybody know how/where I can get a custom cling made? I think I would rather do this than a paint job as I can get a more detailed look to it.
Basicly I want to be able to take some pics and photochop them into the arrangement I want and then either take that file to somplace and have...
I've been giving the DD 8800GTX block a look and doing some measurements on my EVGA 680i board. From what I can tell (without actually having the thing in my hands) is SEEMS as though it would be possiable to put a Maze 4 chipset block on the MCP IF one also uses the 8800GTX block.
What do...
Does anyone have a template they can post for a black ice radiator?
I need to cut the holes for the rad nips and I want to make sure I line it up right.
Thx
What is the general take on radiators on the inside vs the outside of a case?
Better temps? Less noise?
How much does having one inside the case affect overall case temp vs placing outside the case?
Thx
What do you think?
Suggestions?
All are from Danger Den with 1/2" OD (ID for tubing)

Maze 4 Chipset (NB?)

Stealth GTS 120 Black Ice (Rad)
Single 5 1/4 Bay (Reservoir)

As I understand it, there are rumblings from DFI that they are going to cancel their current 590 board and release one later (November?) with the next C55 chipset.
So, the wait might be a little longer, but I would anticipate a MUCH better board.
As I understand if you record a song from the radio (internet or otherwise) and only use it for YOURSELF (playing in the car/house/mobile MP3) then its not illegal. If you use it to distribute the music (torrent or otherwise), sell, or public use (club, meeting, ballgames, whatever) then it is...
I believe the ASRock 775Dual-VSTA has both.
Anandtech used in recently for some Conroe/memory tests.
Not really a review of the board, but here:
http://anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2810
It also supports DDR & DDR2 so you can use your old memory if you need to.
Well, honestly, from what I have read the 965 boards are having "issues". They just don't seem to be working very well. I think there is alot of HOPE around here that Intel can get this resolved as the 965 IS the only Intel chipset DESIGNED with the Conroe in mind.
The 975s and 945s seem to...
Actually the ARIA / NSK 1300 have their own proprietary PSU size. You CAN fit a standard PSU in there but it takes ALOT of modding. About the largest heatsink for the CPU you can get in the ARIA/1300 is a Zalman 7000.
Did you REALLY loose a 3rd PCI slot to the GPU/Zalman? Judging from the pics and the Newegg shots of the board I'm pretty sure you could use the PCI slot 2 down from GPU. Ithought one of the advantages of the Zalman design is that you CAN place cards close together without loosing much of its...
Well to actually ADDRESS THE QUESTION (guys!!!!) ;)
I'd say it looks like you have some good choices there. I'm not that familiar with the 2MB vs 4MB cache in flight sims, but I'll take your word on it. From what I have seen with regular game/apps its a 5-10% increase at SAME CLOCK SPEEDS...
Ahhhh ... didn't realize they didn't work on an AM2.
Odd that their own forums would contradict other REAL WORLD data .. then again, they are trying to sell ......
Anywho, that all being said, you got me on this one.
I honestly don't know about the shuttles (they lost my interest 2 years ago) but my Aria fits it just fine (the 7000 only, the 7700 is too big)
Since most ATX mobos have the socket in the same place AND the Aria in very close proximity to the socket I would ASUME that most mATX cases would...
From the 2 reviews I read (don't recall where now .. but I think one was on silentpcreview) the 8000 is a step backwards for Zalman. More noise, less cooling. Also the fan is all but impossiable to replace.
Anywho, just a heads up for those looking at it. The 7000 is a quieter and better...
Give me this in a mATX form with heatpipes to the North and South chips and I'm sold!
I do like the clear area around the CPU .... wish they had continued that around the 1st PCI x16 slot.
