ASUS did... The prices on their official store skyrocketed.ASUS jacked all prices of their cards on the egg or egg jacked them. Dunno but paying 2500 for a TUF is a TUF pill...![]()

I heard MSI did on their store as well.ASUS did... The prices on their official store skyrocketed.
Remember they had someone from MSI scalping cards on eBay a while back? Can't remember which line of cards, but I think it may have been the 30 series. None of this price gouging surprises me at all. They'll blame it on tariffs I'm sure.I heard MSI did on their store as well.
They did. They had one @ MSRP and a couple under $2400. Now, only one is listed @ $2379. Top is nearly $2800 with the bulk going for $2600.I heard MSI did on their store as well.
Scalpers already bought out all the stock with BOTS. It's especially hard to get them on BestBuy.Was kinda hopping BestBuys wait in line thing would work but no. Newegg and B&H never showed me stock.
Who wants to bet that 5090 sales is not even an Nvidia priority? They make much more profit selling their top end GPUs to AI farms and the like.I guess I’m surprised people are going out of their way to try to get one of these day one, for multiple reasons.
I’d wait a month or two, this isn’t pandemic era. Nvidia should have stocked if they intended to sell these. It’s not about supply constraints and shipping issues, let’s be clear it’s about Nvidia being Nvidia.
In that case people need to direct their angst in the right direction. It’s looking to me like if Nvidia wanted these to be sold they’d have had stock. This is a paper launch and not beyond something nvidia and amd have done before.Who wants to bet that 5090 sales is not even an Nvidia priority? I addressed this is another thread. Most of us are level headed, but some people are just in the "we need instant gratification now" mode. I don't see these sort of shortages changing anytime soon, so they just have to grin and bear it I guess. In that case people need to direct their angst in the right direction.
Or you can fake internet rage for clicks and act dramatic and self entitled. I prefer your approach.I addressed this is another thread. That's what makes this launch so weird. They didn't need to try to sell these cards if they had so few, so why the rush? It's not like they'd miss the opportunity to sell them.Who wants to bet that 5090 sales is not even an Nvidia priority? They make much more profit selling their top end GPUs to AI farms and the like.
They don't. All the money is in AI and Data centers. I don't see it changing until the AI bubble bursts. That's what makes this launch so weird. They didn't need to try to sell these cards if they had so few, so why the rush? It's not like they'd miss the opportunity to sell them.
Could've waited a few months and then done a proper launch. I'm guessing they were genuinely fearful AMD's 9070 cards would suck up alot of their sales so they rushed out the door as fast as possible to make people who can't get one wait and not buy AMD instead. Luckily AMD, never being one to miss an opportunity to fail have yet again lived up to their reputation!
Honestly, how many people do you think would have snapped up an 9070XT having got hyped over a 5080 but then not secured one?
It's gotten to the point where GPU makers straight up don't want to make and sell graphics cards to gamers anymore. At all.
I stupidly thought one of the reasons nvidia was launching the 50 series cards later than usual was so that they could have a decent stock of them on release. Instead it seems like one of the weakest releases they've ever had. That's what makes this launch so weird. They didn't need to try to sell these cards if they had so few, so why the rush? I don't think AI is the bubble, even with compute cost of training AI going down, the overall demand for AI solutions will persist for forseeable future.... we need to ramp up fab production. We continue to severely underestimate the future demand for advanced chips. They don't. All the money is in AI and Data centers. I don't see it changing until the AI bubble bursts.
Well they can't just spin up more fabric capacity. We are still years out before the new plants go into operations.I don't think AI is the bubble, even with compute cost of training AI going down, the overall demand for AI solutions will persist for forseeable future.... we need to ramp up fab production. Exactly - planning and immense cost add to all of this. As nobody can predict what the demand will be in 5 years, which adds to projected conservatism.Well they can't just spin up more fabric capacity. We are still years out before the new plants go into operations.
Throughout the day?The day for stalking Best Buy is TODAY and the time is NOW. Expect drops throughout the day.
I don't know for sure but I doubt this was the only drop today. I think they release in batches. They clearly were restocked today. Anyway it is good news Best Buy got another drop only 13 days after launch day. It means all the bullshit conspiracies you have been reading about stock are WRONG. I'm thinking you will see drops at least every other week.
If you are in line, you've done all that you can do. At that point it is luck.Got in line for third wave and lasted another 5 minutes...but still was unlucky. See if anymore happen today (I think sometimes Best Buy will do a later one...they did at launch).
Got it in your cart?
It seems other outlets aren't having the issue with their cards, but it may just come to down to certain scenarios I would guess. If you are getting a decent upgrade going to a 5090 then I say go for it.Is the 5090 FE still worth getting?
I only wanted to get a FE because it's the cheapest. But with all the reports of the power connectors and cables burning, I'm almost expecting a recall and redesign soon.
Yes, because that talk, just like the initial 4090 burnout talk, is wildly exaggerated. Less than a percent of a percent of 4090s burned up. A minuscule number.after all the reports about the connector and burning cables, even if the 5090 comes back in stock in big numbers are people really running out to buy one?
Probably wishful hoping. Supply won’t be more than demand for a while.https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-...tx-5080-cards-but-not-selling-them-separately

God I hope so, fuck the scalpers.
