No 5090 - Cool!

No, I meant "extra" tires and wheels. The Bronco only has 8,000 miles on it, but on the stock rims and tires. Just thought I'd dress it up for the nicer months here and keep the stock rims and tires for winter.
In this case it sounds like the difference is getting nicer looking wheels. 8,000 miles will not put any significant wear and tear on the original wheels to need replacement.

So do you want nicer looking wheels when you're driving around and people checking your ride, or you want a faster GPU that is the fastest money can buy?

It's really up to you but a 5090 will actually make your games go faster, the nicer wheels won't make your car go any faster.

This is all true. I just like having the nicer wheels for myself.

Nvidia VPA is running plus GTC needed cards. So makes sense that BB didn’t get them.

Same. I find him more awkward than anything. He makes false claims and some very odd jokes. Maybe he’s AI himself..😂
He's just another rich CEO. These people don't live in the same world as normal people. They always come off as odd or weird when they are trying to act like a regular joe schmoe.

Maybe he always was weird or odd. He used to be a regular joe eating at the denny's.

Lets be real here... at least 50% of this forum (if not more) are "weird" or "odd" to talk with in conversations not relating to technology... lol. :ROFLMAO: Whenever I start to talk about overclocking one of my PCs or some cool new features, my wife glazes over and will respond with "I do not know what you just said, but I am glad it makes you happy".

I wouldn't really know honestly. But I typically don't talk about hobby stuff with people who aren't interested because no matter what it is they won't care.

GeForce RTX 5090 with missing ROPs now offered as B-stock product by German retailer, costs €2899

I have nothing to comment on the price, but if functionality is not hampered in any way by the missing rops, then it would make sense to sell them to customers for cheaper. For one who already has a defective unit could be offered a rebate - I'd assume many would take it since the performance loss is so meager compared to the possible long wait for a replacement. No reason to waste GPUs (or repurpose them into much lesser model).

My new 5090 has arrived surrounded otherwise by new computer for Dad. The old two birds with one stone. Though I've never understood the animosity towards our feathered friends...

How about millions of years ago they used to be dinosaurs, and they probably ate our ancestors? That said, I don't have direct animosity towards them, but I certainly don't lose sleep over them getting murdered by cell towers... or stones.

Is the increase based on tariffs or we rounded up everything to screw you even more routine?

It functions, just 5-10% slower. So the missing ROPs do make a difference. At least they are being open about the defect.

The shitty thing is it doesn't matter because, similarly to during covid, they have cover now to do so. The 'why' in the AIBs case is to claw back some of the margin they see going to scalpers in secondary markets.

However the big difference between now and covid is that the Trump tax is completely self-inflicted, the economic version of "what if we inject bleach". And now anyone that doesn't actually have to raise prices has the cover to do so anyway without a care.
