dual-link is different than dual-dvi. Dual-dvi is two DVI ports.. dual-link dvi will be a single dvi port but there's no way of telling whether it will hold that resolution other than contacting dell and asking. Unless there's something on the spec page of your laptop. I'd just call Dell...
it's not that i'm saying that ati is better... i'm just saying that the source engine is built for ATI. However, I still bought my 7900GT knowing that because of a) it's lifetime warranty, b) evga's step-up program, and c) i was just getting tired of ATI and wanted to try nvidia.
I'm very...
he's right, source is made for ati cards. i have a 7900GT though and it rapes as well. I play on 1680x1050 on my dell 2005fpw 20.1" LCD. 99 fps constant except in heavy battles with a lot of smoke etc. I also play with everything on high with aa/af. either one would be a good choice. If you can...
if you could step up with ati cards i'd say go for it... but right now it's not worth it. your card is good and an x1900xt would not be worth what you'd pay to upgrade. you probably couldnt' sell your x1800xt for anywhere near what you bought it for and you'd be buying the x1900xt at a high...
if you check the evga forums ... there are other people that have received just oem cards and they've complained and evga has fixed it for them. no that's not what's supposed to happen. Contact evga and if that doesn't work post on their Step-Up Forum complaining and they'll fix it right there...
He said he could sell his 6800GS for MORE than what he was buying the x850xt for.... so it would mean money in his pocket and a better video card in his computer. I don't understand how that's a bad thing.
i don't know why everyone is suggesting the x1900xtx. the 7950 outperforms it in everything except for oblivion (which is loses by a small margin), and has 1gb of memory.
Indeed. However the comment i was referring to implied that the Gainward 7800GS was equal to the 7900GT when that is not the case. The 7900GT outperforms it by a fair margin and also costs half of the price. Also, with me saying that... the extra $200 you have to spend (that you didn't spend on...
i've got a dfi lanparty nf4 ultra mobo and i see that it isn't supported on the evga website. Any idea as to when it might be? I've only got 4 weeks left to step up my card!@! omgwtfbbq
yes but remember you only get off what you pay for it. So if you paid $575 CDN for it (515 USD), you'd still have to pay the difference + shipping + whatever the border decided to tax onto it. I was thinking of stepping up my 7900GT and paying the difference but i'm afraid the border will add...
i think you're just paranoid with all the people saying they've had 7900 problems. Some of my games crash... probably has nothing to do with my 7900gt but maybe it does. i'm fine with it. Sometimes when I alt tab out of CSS i get weird lines on the floor but that has to do with alt tabbing out...
i heard that the leap between the GS and the GT is pretty significant. I'd go with the GT if i were you but if things are pretty tight, i'm sure the GS will suffice.
Hey,
most of the time my avi/mpg/video files have a very distinct pink/purplish hue to them and it makes watching things unbearable. Anyone know why this is and how i can maybe go about fixing it? I've tried downloading all the latest codecs etc.
either get the x1800xt 512 or the x1900gt which i think is cheaper. the 7900GT is also a viable option. either way you should be very happy with either of those three choices
hi everyone,
i was hoping someone could possibly help me overclock my processor. My specs are an x2 3800+ 939, dfi lp nf4 ultra, 2x512 ocz premier ddr400, 480w thermaltake silent purepower. I can get the processor to around 2.4 - 2.6 but i'm used to the overclocking where i can simply say...
