Its a shame the games on the list date back to 2002/2003 and arent worth bothering with. :(

Congrats on you Gainward 7800GS+ :D
Now are we 6 or 7 Gainward Bliss owners here on [H]ard now?
I kinda lost track myself *L*

Terra - Waiting for my new CPU/MOBO/RAM...the old died :(

Can you buy these in the US? I really want to get my hands on one.

Nope, Gainward dosn't sell in the US anymore.
But several dealers in europe ship to the US.
Overclockers.co.uk for one.

Terra - Just beware...we europeans pay more for hardware than you do in the US...(fucking VAT, TAX ect  )

Help me with my stupidity. How much is £269.70 in US dollars?

that's such a ridiculous price for something that doesn't perform as well as a 7800GT in most games.

I paid $275 for my EVGA 7800 GS and unlocked it to 24,8 from 16,6. Not 512Mb RAM though.

?

I thought the 7800GS series cards weren't able to be unlocked. Got any screenshots?

How is the Gainward card different than other 7800GS cards? Which GPU is on this card?
How would a different GPU and 512MB of DDR 3 memory affect performance.

Ok to those who already know. SHHHH Do not give out the answers. lol

From what I have read, the 7800GS+ is a 7900GT in AGP form. All 24 pipes are unlocked.

24 pipe AGP card, impressive. That's essentially a 7900GTX with lower clockspeeds....that thing will probably hold value much better than most vidcards because it is the last, and best of AGP upgrades that are avalible.

you read wrong. performance wise , the 7900GT is much better and is half the price

so.... you've... proven me right? It's not the 7900GT. and it doesn't perform as well. and costs twice as much....
okay then.
This card uses the same core as the 7900GT with 24 pipes. Clock speeds are the same.

One is the 7800GS with a 7800GT GPU.
The other is 7800GS+ with a 7900GT GPU.
Hence the confusion two similar cards but not identical.

How can I tell which GPU mine is without removing the fan on the GPU, that pic above is from the inquirer link I provided?

If you know which card you have the answer is provided. To verify that information you might be able to with Riva Tuner.

Rivatuner displayed this:

20 pipes is the 7800GS or 7800GT
24 pipes is the 7800GS+ or 7900GT
I like others to find there own answers for thier personal verification and piece of mind.

Thanks, I'm off to bed now it's 1:22am. :)

I just added that card to my site the other day.
If you have any comments about it you could share them here if you like.

mine displays the same thing and is the GS+, haven't had a whole lot of time to play on it, but currently stressing out Q4/FEAR atm (kinda limited to 1280x1024, but hey, theres always more aa to be added :D )

also, is this card keeping anyone elses room warm? it seems to pump out more heat then the 6800GT it replaced

I have come from a BFG 6800 ULTRA 256MB and that beast was a power muncher, my 7800GS+ idles at 37 and hits around 53 full load, much cooler than my BFG card.

Not if you try and use it in a AGP slot...

Indeed. However the comment i was referring to implied that the Gainward 7800GS was equal to the 7900GT when that is not the case. The 7900GT outperforms it by a fair margin and also costs half of the price. Also, with me saying that... the extra $200 you have to spend (that you didn't spend on an inferior video card) you could easily upgrade your computer to pci-express. However I'm sure this has been brought to your attention before.
Cheers

Yup, but the point is, with Conroe and R600/G80 on the horizion going PCI-E right now for me would me useless.

I hadn't factored in that my CPU Mobo should ie on me, so right nw I am sitting at my Dell Poweregde 800 Server with my X-Fi on XP(No GFX drivers for onboard E7221 Intel Chipset for XP), but my replacment art will also be AGP.
CPU, Mobo, RAM is cheaper for me than going PCI-E right now...and then still have to upgrade when Vista comes...

Terra - Besides that rig will make for a nice 2nd gaming rig by that time ;)

Let me clarify. The 7800GS+ has a 7900GT core, not that it performs like a 7900GT.....

Forgot to comment on that part myself, good catch :)
