Decided on 7600GS...

I am buying a new card for mostly one game, Battlefield 2. I was set on the x800GTO2 until I heard bad things about open-box's on Newegg, so I am NOT going to take a chance.


The card will likely be paired with:
3000+
1GB Ballistix
DFI Ultra-d

And I can only game at 1024x768. Do you guys think that this card will suffice? I'll be sure to get the eVga, that way if i DO stumble across $75 in the next 3 months, I can always got 7600GT .

Do any of you have any experiences with this card?

Yeah, the 7600GS is fine for 1024x768.

BF2 with all eye candy turned up to max plays better with more main memory. BF2 plays fine with just 1GB though.

i heard that the leap between the GS and the GT is pretty significant. I'd go with the GT if i were you but if things are pretty tight, i'm sure the GS will suffice.

I mean, coming from an FX5200 ANYTHING's gotta be good, right? .

I know about teh big difference, that's why I said I'd get an eVga for their step-up program. .
