i recently got a gigabyte h110-d3a with a dual core celly and 4gb ddr4 for almost nothing
Long story short, I’m having all sorts of trouble getting the sixth GPU to show up in windows, it doesn’t even show up in device manager. I know that the GPU works because I have tested it in another...
OK. Several days of running without Intel speed step in abled and absolutely no crashes. Any ideas on how I can still have the function of throttling down for the power saving purposes but not crashing?
I have only noticed this when the machine was left alone, the less the machine is doing, the more likely it is to happen… For instance I had disconnected my network cable to use on another machine for a moment… as a result neither the graphics cards nor the CPU did much, about 3 hours later I...
i have a rig that is randomly freezing up. There doesn’t seem to be any pattern.
It’s a rather weird freeze too... all three screens continue to display the desktop. But the mining software disconnects and the mouse and keyboard no longer work. Also the computer is not found on the network...
So the plan is to sell 2 motherboards and 2 CPUs. Build one for my kids...(I’ll be snagging them a cheap rx470 and an ssd) then update my current rig to a Ryzen 1700 or 1800... so new cpu, motherboard and ram
Currently I have a i7 2600k that runs solid at 4.6Ghz on air, 16gb ddr3 1600 480gb...
i am considering upgrading my current CPU (i7 2600k @ 4.6) to a Ryzen 1700. I figure an oc to 3.8 or 4.0 would be easy
I figured I would need ddr4 8gb x 2, and a motherboard that can handle at least 8x/8x crossfire
On a side note I’m picking up an EVGA clc 240 today for $40
Any reasons I...
So I am wondering about Powerspec PSUs? They are a Microcenter house brand and from what I can tell they are reasonably well made... kinda heavy in fact
They are certainly not as low of quality as an old Inland or Diablotek... but I doubt they are on par with a high end Corsair and the like...
I would test tighter timings at your current speed... then try looser timings at faster speeds
Do actual test to determine what is actually faster
Sometimes you have to loosen ram timings so much to get stability at higher speeds that it negates any gains you might have got... other times you...
Well I pulled my e3-1220 v2 and dropped in an i5 2400... now the settings are there... can access the +4 BIN... it will hit 3.8GHz easy... but under load drops to 3.6GHz. But I thought I could lock turbo in place to hold it at 3.8GHz
I have been reading that the I5 2400 is capable of A 38x multiplier? I only ask because I recently acquired four of them. And I’m wondering if it would be worth it to toss one in my Asus p8z77-v lk?
Doesn’t make a whole lot of sense since they are a 3.1 GHz processor. And should do about 3.5...
i have noticed that a lot has changed since my last overclock (x3210)
I have a Xeon e3-1220 v2. Ivy bridge, 3.1ghz quad core(3.5ghz on turbo boost)
However back in the day we could run the piss out of the FSB (now seems that is called BCLK) but there were dividers to keep everything at or...
No. I guess luck is the answer. Just ride the wave till it goes down I guess... Thank you for a legit answer... as for the rest of you guys... pass me a beer... lol
I went downstairs to my gaming rig... which mines when it’s not gaming...
I have a pair of XFX rx 580 GTS 8gb. I typically run them with the 1500 timing copied to everything above 1500
Core speed @ 1150 MHz @ 912mV
Ram @ 2020 MHz @ 1000mV
I could never get it stable above that
But I decided...
Reseated the 480s and used DDU to reinstall the drivers... now works.. mostly... but now everything works except for voltage...... but it works with Trixx... ideas?
i have a mining rig with a pair of Rx580 Nitro Plus 4gb cards, a Power Color RX480 Red Devil 8gb and a XFX rx480 RS 8gb
Last night I uninstalled an ASUS Rx580 Dual OC 4gb so I could install the XFX rx480 in its place.
I cleaned all the cards and lowered the memory clocks just a bit as I wanted...
Well I was using bunk software... I installed HWMonitor and with nothing running the hottest core was 31c (room temp is about 26c)
While mining I saw about 33c max
Prime95 showed cores between 37c and 42c with a slight increase in fan speed (PWM fan)
I recently sold some corsair DDR3 2400 MHz ram to a coworker (4 x 8gb). It’s rated 10-12-12-31 @ 2400mhz @ 1.65v
He has an fx6300 with a ga 78lmt usb3 motherboard. Now he tells me he has had weird issues with his pc before
I tested it on 3 rigs before selling it to him, running several...
Honestly, I have had nothing but good luck. In the last three months I’ve purchased nine graphics cards, three of these were GTX 1060’s, the remainder were various RX 580s. All of them have worked flawlessly. In fact most of them were mind on for at least six months some of the best performers I...
