I agree. AMD had the opportunity to learn from nvidia's disaster of a launch but instead they just forged ahead, doing the exact same thing.
For example, if they still wanted to launch, they could have created a lottery or preorder system. Apple's preorder works fairly well - why doesn't AMD...
I agree - AMD launch was a disaster. I thought there would be a flood of 6800xt's that would land on the market and wouldn't sell out in less than a minute but that didn't happen.
After having a Vega 56 and a Radeon VII, ended up with a 3080 as I was able to walk into a Microcenter and buy...
They also have the ripjaws in stock; same specs, no LED, lower price

Probably cheaper to...
Do you even need a fan? I am gussing the design constraints of the x51 require direct cooling.
My Antec ISK case has great airflow going right over my PSU so I have excellent PSU temps.
I know a big downfall of some of these smaller PSUs is that they have no 12V filter. The X51 version...
Nothing is guaranteed by anyone - look at Verizon getting rid of grandfathered data if you want a new device subsidy.
All we can do is take advantage of all the information that's available and make the best decision for our particular needs. Not everyone needs unlimited data, not everyone...

I would wait six months. There are a LOT less Sprint customers than AT&T in this heavy usage/spectrum...
Some people do have Sprint LTE.

I hate to burst your bubble but they won't remove the charge :(
Just remember, every tower they upgrade they are going from a few T-1's that are extremely overloaded to fiber or microwave backhaul.
Again, you should visit S4GRU.com
You are saying a bunch of inaccurate things. Round 1 markets, depending on the size, are starting to really pickup the pace right now. They are still on schedule to launch their first markets in the middle of 2012. Larger markets that they are currently...

30mbit LTE, unlimited data, completely new network being built from the ground up.
Old sprint will be gone in no time. Gone are the days of T-1's and horrible data speeds once network vision rolls out.
Thanks for the very helpful advice.
So at 285.92 for the U2412M vs. 426.32 for the ZR2440w it seems like it's a no brainer to go with the U2412M? No?
So the U2412M at 285.92
The ZR2440W obviously has to scale and can't do 1:1 - how much lag would be introduced?
With the U2412M with the xbox set to 1680x1050, that seems like a pretty good solution.
I was looking at the 2312hm also, that seems like a fairly promising route as well.
So now I am looking at the...
Thanks for the heads up.
With the scaler, how much lag will be introduced?
I am looking at the Samsung PLS and the HP ZR2440W/ZR2740W
Tough picking between the two. The HP ZR2440W seems relatively well priced at ~425.
I've been spending a significant amount of time trying to figure out what the perfect IPS monitor would be.
My requirements are:
- IPS display
- LED (for power consumption)
- Good for console gaming (I want to hook up my xbox 360)
I currently use an older Dell 2407wfp and it is not all...
My ceton (using comcast) is awesome.
I think a lot of those time warner issues have been resolved.
I would give it a try - usually Ceton is VERY good about customer support if you are having any problems.
I am still extremely pleased with the case. I plan to upgrade to a DH67CF + 2100T combo shortly.
It's hard to find such a low profile/inexpensive/thermally fantastic case for my needs - for what use it for (HTPC) it's just about perfect.
Good test of the PSU right there... nothing great, but nothing bad either. Just your run of the mill standard power supply.

It's a great upgrade. Filtered 12V is really a nice bonus.
I can't wait for the intel reference sandy bridge board. The H57 ITX board intel makes is great with power efficiency.
Maybe with sandy bridge we will see sub-15W idle systems. That would be nice :) My i3/H57 idles around 25W, so my fingers are crossed.
small update-
Upgraded to Electrodacus' 130W DC/DC PSU which filters the 12V rail (antec ISK PSU and picoPSU does not :(). I don't want anything getting in the way of my stability :)
I stopped using the dynamic voltage adjustment and just switched to manually setting. Speedstep/dynamic VID doesn't seem to save ANY power and just seems to cause stability issues.
Try setting voltage to .95 and see how fast you can go :) I topped out at 2.4GHz.
Yeah, that's good advice. With stock settings, I can actually fire up prime95 and pull 81W from the wall. I think I'll end up tuning the system to pull a max of ~75W. That gives me that margin of safety. I know 99% of the time it won't go over ~45W, but the system is way overkill as it is...
