All the Ceton does is stream the recording to disk. The e-350 is enough to play back but the MC UI is a little laggy/slow.
What are you going to recerd to - a USB connected disk? If that is the case you may have issues with the two USB devices connected and trying to record 4 streams at once...

The xbox is $199. They can't go much cheaper than that. Xbox has volume and games/market to make up for any losses on the HW. Ceton doesn't have that.
Apple also sells customers to Sprint/ATT/VZ via their store front and also customer service. Apple bricks phones via an update and they are on the hook to replace/repair them.
MS doesn't have this (well they have 12 stores).

I'm sure you are just fine with your 800x480 screen but for me, after using a 720p and now an 800p screen I could never go back to such low a resolution.
There's no common version of ARM that is shipped like Intel and AMD procs. Samsung (Exynos), TI (Cortex), nVidia (Tegra), Apple (Ax), Qualcomm (Snapdragon) all license the ARM design and customize it for their architecture.

It's about the apps and quality of them. WP7 has less apps and the quality is lower.
People won't switch to a device/platform that is 1% less good than the competition.
It's probably a licensing issue and ability to edit. Most cameras use AVI or MOV, none that I know use WMV.
Editing MOV/AVI is supported by free to expensine NLE software and the cost to license MOV must be cheaper than WMV.
