I'm waiting for 3.0 to get released so I can test LIO-target, but lopoetve is right. Default iSCSI initiator for OF 2.99 and below is SCST, which doesn't have SCSI-3 persistent reservations. Now you can CLI configure OF to use LIO-target, but it's a PITA.
For now, I've succumbed to just...
SOLD OUT. Got it for my GF. I'm really surprised that more peeps weren't more interested in this on [H] (unless you already saw the deal on SD or Bens Bargains).
Mind telling us how much? I was going to sell my case to an old customer for his gaming rig, but I didn't want to sell it without getting a replacement or properly pricing it.
Thanks for the review. I take it that when you install the Dataplex software it's only good for use on one PC? What's the maximum cache size you can provision? Can you cache muliple drives? I know I could Google, but I'm feeling extra lazy.
I don't think Readyboost is as advanced as SSD cacheing impementations. Readyboost can only use USB, not SATA\SAS attached storage for cacheing as far as I know.
MSI........................

In all fairness, I doubt you'll have problems, especially since it's an Intel-based board, but I'm keeping away from MSI for awhile.
I already bought a Corsair Force 3 60GB and would like to get one for my GF, who just had surgery and she would feel a whole lot better if she had an SSD. (this is actually a true story) :D
Always leave them longer. You can alway cut back..........you can't add unless you splice/extend, which is a bad idea. My 2nd house, I was lucky enough to be able to install conduit which made it a moot point. Didn't have that luxury on my current house so I left plenty of extra.
I'm running a Cogage Arrow, which is no slouch, and I'm seeing the same temps...........4.8 Ghz wth HT at 1.35V and I'm hitting 80C with LinX. My HS/Motherboard sits parallel to desktop, so I doubt contact is an issue in my setup.
You really should get a bag to carry your case. I tried the Gear Grip handle thingy and carrying it that way beats your rig up pretty quickly. I actually had mine break in the airport..............it was not fun. While a solid-mounted handle may not break, you're still going to beat your rig...
I picked up 2 2600K's and a Gigabyte Z68MA-D2H-B3 and a Gigbyte Z68MX-UD2H-B3 for $695 after taxes. I priced on Newegg and I saved about $200. Both boards were 80 bucks off, so one board came to $35 and the other $60.
Gonna swap one of the 2600K's into my Maximus and see if I can hit the...
This rig doubles as a work rig when needed.

New components are in my sig..........SSD caching has been working good for me despite the problems others have had. I have to run multiple VM environments at one time.
I'm sure this has been beaten to death in this forum but I'm looking for some updated information. Quite a few posts around the net say:
"Openfiler hasn't been updated in years..."
This isn't true. 2.99 has been out for some time now. 3.0 Is pending release
"Openfiler is faster than...
My Maximus IV Gene has 6 internal SATA ports, 2 SATA-3, 4 SATA-2, and two additional eSATA ports for a total of 8 SATA ports. I don't use eSATA.............I use an external USB 3.0 HD docking station......much easier to add/remove drives on USB than it is eSATA and speed is comparable.
It...
So I've got 16 gigs in my rig........just bought the GSkill deal a few weeks ago and got 24 gigs for $134 and thought that was a damn steal, and now just bought 3 sets of these. It was really, really tempting to not jump on 5 sets.
At least I'm one step closer to having a 2-node HA/FT...
