Who would be interested in powder coating?

I'm interested in powder coating, but I want someone local. Little scary sending it off. Years of working in my dads body-shop as a kid taught me a bit of distrust to put something I worked hard on in the hands of someone I don't know. No offence, but I don't wanna spend S+H to find out if...

    Helpful Modding Guides

OK, I'll bite... There's a lot of guides out there. And even more people like me who are not stupid, ( I'll leave bragging out of this, so make up something complex you think I can do ) but I can never seem to find the guides I'm looking for because they are scattered around the net in a half...

Lookin for a case for my server/gaming rig

I agree on the tacky. But like I said... mod possibilities... If i do get one of those 2 I was thinking plexi to "chamber" harddrive / vid card air low, and CPU / RAM / NB by itself up top. Then hide the 140mm fan in a "cannon barrel". Themed "BF2" But back to the original topic... Since this...

Case modding has officially gone ghetto.

Oh my god! Not electronics! This "ghetto" thing could be spreading to other areas of computing too! ( In my best Samuell Jackson voice...) Does Mr. Gates look like a bitch? Say Syntax error one more time! I dare you! I double dare you, motherfucker!

Case modding has officially gone ghetto.

Look, I've heard two really good points here. First, "modding for dummies" will never be cool. But that is OK because we all have to start somewhere. Not that I think he's a good example, but I remember the episode of Monster Garage where Jessie had pulled out the instruction-book for...

    Worst Game Ever?

Ok, I agree with ET. But why, when everyone is complaining about ET and falling in pits, does no-one even mention The Sims and having to take your character to the bathroom every five minutes?

    The Perfect Case

To the person who mentioned the "pigtail" power strip... I love the idea! but go all out with IDE and SATA in there too! ( yea, I know. I want everything! ) on the original question. I like that first case you presented. But I have a sugestion... BIGGER!!!!! I say a huge tower, with room for...

    Back from the dead

Suggestions, hu. Well... I assume your talking about one of the old Dragons ( Chenming 601 ) since you say Chenming/Antec. How dare you spill on a classic case like that! I hope it was at least Bawls and not something weak like diet Pepsi or something! Clean that up! I don't know the exact...

Where to buy just motherboard trays?

A little pricey, but try this... MM EATX They also sell black powder coat ones for 10$ more. They also have regular ones if you change your mind. Dangit - CrimandEvil beat me to it!

    Need some ideas..

I can't see your project, but here's my sugestion. What I did...er.....uh......I mean.....what I would do is make the hole bigger, into a window. Then mount a good fan in the window! Not that this ever happened to me when I was a noobe.... :D

Doom 3 Project Mars City case "mod" - is this really case modding?

I'm curious, why was this brought up? If this is because it's "fab" and not a "mod"; well, I do not see a computer "fab"section in this forum, so it's in the closest section possible. Was this issue was brought on because it outshines a standard 120mm blowhole? Well, we've all seen or can find...

CM Stacker, i love this thing

You can try a 120 in the top, but with that much venting in it already, I was thinking of this Res Hey, if your putting a triple rad in the front, It'll save ya another bay! But you can get either the 80mm or 120mm adapter for it, so it should be cool either way.

    WaveMaster Sucks - Need Help

By ambient do you mean case air temp or room temp? If case air temp, how are you measuring it? I can see those being NB or CPU temps, but not room temp! If those are CPU temps, then don't worry, thats OK for air cooling. As far as I know, there are no factory panels for that case, but I may...

Was it resting on the metal (as in it's no longer resting on the metal), or is it still resting on the metal? Try electrical tape on the edge where it hits. Extreme WC fluids

Please warn the newbies that this is a "do not try this at home" sort of thing. My personal vote would be for cement. No really! Walk outside barefoot in the summer, that stuff can absorb a lot of heat! It would just be great for WC! I just can't decide if it would be better in a...

OK, not to thread jack, but lets expand on the original question. Yea, you can mod anything for anything. But other than mountain mods, any suggestions on cases for Triple rads? This case looks like balls...

Yea, I miss the days of cheep, huge, thick steel cases. they were cheep because they were simple beige boxes with nothing in them, not because they were thin cheep plastic. Those were fun to chop. IMHO, If someone had taken a plain case, and turned it into that one him/herself, then I think...

cheapest way to cut a 120mm blowhole?

I said some of this one the previous page, but I think you said most of it better. One thing though. Just like you can do it with a nibbler and get great results, but the hole saw is still the better choice, I see a prob with your saftey glasses statement. Do your selves a favor, get quality...

How do I make threaded Screw Holes ? (please read)

I think he's talking about metal that has a build up or pressed shape before the threads. If you can get it to work with a pick or nail, let us know. I would use a small nail with soft wood underneath the metal, then tap it. But since I've never done it or heard of it done without a die-machine...

cheapest way to cut a 120mm blowhole?

Use a good holesaw, clamp the metal down so it can't wobble/move, and use a drillpress. If it's a cheep holesaw, the metal wobbles, or you use a hand drill you may have problems. The teeth will catch / bind in the metal when it's that thick, and you could have anything from a mishapped holesaw...

    CM Stacker + Nocona?

Don't worry about this unless it's a "official" Intel board and a nocona ready case. The nocona's heat sink is supposed to mount "through" the motherboard and into the motherboard tray, so that the weight is not supported by the motherboard. This means that the motherboard co would have to put...

cheapest way to cut a 120mm blowhole?

I just used a nibbler to do three holes in AL. My old holesaw got messed up, And I didn't feel like buying a new one. Now I wouldn't suggest it with thicker / harder metal, but it really is surprisingly easy and gives really nice results. The trick is that you take two sets of bytes. One on the...

OK guys, I need people with personal experience on these two questions. 1. I've heard that you should go res > pump > CPU > rad > res to keep flow up for a better loop. I've also heard that you should go pump > rad > CPU > res > rad > pump so that the CPU is getting the coldest water quicker...
