Long story short. Looking for a new/used car for the wife. Visor.vin has been very helpful in doing that with my last couple of purchases. Jumped on their site and noticed it had an API. Set up an account, they gave me $1 credit to start with. The entire project cost me a buck fifty in API...

Topics are split up a bit some so we can organize a bit. If you want a thread moved out of general and into a different sub. Just use the REPORT POST button and tell me where you want it to go.

I know we have all "AI" piled into one sub right now. If we broke it down to its own category, what different topic categories would you like to see?

Linkage to grab your own. No downside that I can see.

Been working on this. Sneak Peek.

Figure this would be a good thread to share information on what you are using locally for AI. I am running the Strix 395+ 128GB machine as my "Home AI Server." Using LM Studio on my desktop to connect to the server over the network using LM Link. I am using Hermes Desktop exclusively now...

I have watched this Strix based agent computers going hugely up in price the last few months. A buddy did send over the deal he found. If you are wanting to give local AI a try, this might be your cheapest option in the 128GB unified memory footprint left out there. No idea on this builder...

I have had three people come to me in the last seven days to report that their account had been hi-jacked/compromised. It seems that all of these accounts shared passwords between HardForum and the EVGA forums. We do know that EVGA forums were hacked, but they did not verify if passwords had...

Bought this here in GenMay and giving GenMay first shot at it, then it will go to FSFT. Selling because I could not get the unit to be controlled by the DISH remote, and Momma does not like two remotes. Worked perfectly fine and had nice sound with my Polk R0s. I have $180 in it. I will sell...

Sponsored by NVIDIA, but this is really good lesson on gaming input latency. Have to say, I learned a couple things. Really good down to earth talk. https://youtu.be/Fj-wZ_KGcsg

Turning back on from a Sleep state, I am seeing this CMD window rather than the expected login page. Anyone know what is going on here?

He got in touch with us this morning, we looked at IPs etc. Also reached out to who was sold to yesterday to advise them. Stay vigilant. And for God's sake, change your passwords if they were shared between here and EVGA forums.

NVIDIA is fearful of losing control of dominating the software space with developers and this is simply another grasp at control.

HardOCP.com: Status Quo is No Mo Primarily I am going to discuss MSRP pricing, and the direction of the consumer hardware reviews industry overall.

GPU MSRP is Not Meaningless "There are a lot of talking heads squawking nowadays about video card MSRP, otherwise known as “Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price.” You might also see this referred to in company slides as, “SEP,” or “Suggested Etail Pricing.”"

NVIDIA’s Miner vs. AMD’s Whiner at HardOCP.com.

PSA: Potential security vulnerability in Elasticsearch and more via Apache Log4j (Log4Shell) Patch is applied. Thanks RoldanLT ! The best forum admin I have ever had. This damn guy is quick!

Who's got the oldest Steam account here?

Put my 6800M on task last night getting 43MHs. Sadly, Asus has limited the Radeon tweaking software and there is no way to downclock in Asus' software to tune it appropriately.

Yeah, I think it is going to be that big.

Not so much Tech News as something I wanted to share as it is a favorite of mine. I have played Hunt for well over 1K hours since it came out. It is not for those looking for a casual gaming experience. It is a brutally hardcore shooter, that now has a little bit softer non-insta-death/loss...

I am not fan of FB and deleted my account long ago, but this is surely a step in the right direction on the topic of deepfakes, which I think is something that could certainly be weaponized in many ways. Reverse engineering generative models from a single deepfake image Deepfakes have become...
