I run every game I own at 2304x1440@85Hz/ w 6xAA...except RBR. It doesn't support that resolution.That's my monitor's max.

1920x1080 for me. Despite what people say, 1920x1080 is better than 1920x1200 for gaming. 1920x1200 is better for multitasking tho IMO.

How is a lower resolution better for gaming?

Oh, and I picked 1920x1200.

i think they don't make 1920x1200 monitors any more because they want to force people to buy the more expensive monitors. that's disonest and rude. i choosed 1920x1200 that's my u2410 monitor... which is a lot more expensive...

what do you mean more expensive monitors? you mean higher resolution ones like 2560x1600 30" if you want something higher than just 1080?

1080p on my 32" Panny Viera, I really enjoy it. I think I just love big screens though. Im wondering if my next display will be 42" 1080p or a 30" 1600p monitor.... Of course i get blazing performance at 1080p and if I went 2560x1600 I'd probably need to upgrade my video cards too... Sigh. So many decisions!

5040x1050 with Crossfire 5770s. It's weird playing on single monitor now.

1680x1050, and thank God for that. If I had a higher-res monitor, I would be tempted to play it at higher res, therefore losing performance.

1920x1080 @ 120Hz. That's perfectly fine with me for now.

If they ever make a 2560x1600 LCD that does 120Hz, I'll buy it.

It's not much of a lower resolution. IMO 16:9 looks better in games than 16:10. Look at screenshots. You generally get wider viewing angles when gaming at 16:9 vs 16:10. With that being said, the extra vertical pixels with 16:10 are better for desktop use.

I game at 1860x1050 on a 22 inch dell ips. It is all I need/want and I don't have to have a bleeding edge system with multiple gpu's to get perfect framerates.

sidenote: to those who spoke of CRT's and various hz's - omfg let go of the past and buy a gd LCD already. I would never in a million years go back to a big ass CRT. 59hz is where it's at. I haven't thought about what refresh rate my monitor is running at in many moons. And only a nit wit would run an LCD at something OTHER than it's native res. /end late night rant

If you do any editing the cost of a comparable lcd with decent black levels start at $900 for a small one and go up from there. I want a LCD3090WQXi or CINTIQ 21UX but the cash simply is not there when I have 22 inch crt that works and reproduces colors better than 99% of lcd monitors. Then again it means I can play at any 4x3 ratio I want really, but I end up playing at 1280x960 at 100Hz 1600x1200 at 100Hz mostly. Now that you can scale the UI in most MMOs I don't really need to worry then again you really need the higher resolutions for fine details, which most MMO lack.

I'm honestly surprised to see more multi-monitor configs than 1680x1050. More people gaming with Surround/Eyefinity than on a 30" too.

1920 x 1200.

I do have a 1920 x 1080 monitor, but I use to basically check on some process from time to time. I did play games on it to write a review on the monitor, but I personally don't like that resolution.

For the Eyefinity versus 30", as long as you have the cards, tri-monitor is usually about the same price as a 30", for a much wider field of view. My three ZR24w's cost me about $1200 total, only a little bit more than a 30" monitor would have cost me, but my gaming experience is much better than it would be on a 30, and I have more screen real estate.

depends upon the game but for the most part 1080p for laptop and 1050p for desktop

its not but 16:9 gives the sensation that you have a wider FOV then 1920x1200 even though its the same. the extra vertical pixel's give a higher vertical FOV plus the same horizontal FOV as 1920x1080. i've checked other then the stupid games that run retarded console FOV's that limit the vertical fov to 1080p/16:9 its the same horizontally between 1920x1080 and 1920x1200.

granted this is [H], but Multi-Monitor a niche market my ass!
