I've seen a lot of discussion about what resolution people most commonly use to game at, and a lot of people quote the Steam Hardware Survey. I think the [H] community probably isn't best represented by the Steam survey, so I'm curious to see what is most common here, as well as the % of people playing on multi-monitor setups.

For the sake of making these easy, I am going to lump all multi-monitor setups into one choice, as otherwise there would far too many variables.

1920 x 1080 unfortunately since asshat Monitor manufacturers mostly quit making "real" 24 inch monitors.

1600X900 or 1280X1024 (native for my monitors) for now. Working up cash for some new monitors.
 
1080p on my TV. I'd love to go higher with some kind of multi-monitor set-up, but the bezels and horsepower you'd have to maintain (which would force me to kill off vsync in many cases) would probably force my hand too often. I'd rather see a TV with higher resolution options instead. I can always dream...
 
1920x1080 for myself only because I cant afford a higher end video card so there is no need for me to go over this Res. I thought about Downgrading to 1680x1050 to give me 4890 a better chance so I can use higher settings.
 
im at 1920x1080 but would love more than anything to game at 2560x1600. just cant afford 1000 for a monitor.
 
5040x1050 on my main setup.

1920x1080 using Nvidia 3D Visio for my 2nd setup.
 
Depends on game. Poll really needs to be multiple choice with more options.

1024x640 @ 160hz
1152x720 @ 140hz
1280x800 @ 120hz
1440x900 @ 120hz
1680x1050 @100hz

Many 120hz LCD owners also run some games at a lower resolution. Maintaining 120+fps is more important than extra detail.
 
1920x1080 for me. Despite what people say, 1920x1080 is better than 1920x1200 for gaming. 1920x1200 is better for multitasking tho IMO.

I would have thought this would be obvious but adding more options for solely refresh rate would have made the poll tediously long. And most people who use LCD only play at one resolution, native. I haven't seen a CRT monitor outside of an office in years, so I think it's a non-issue.

For what? "pro gaming"? That's an incredibly small subset of an already small market.
 
currently on 2560x1600 - i still use my tv at 1920x1080 - im looking to get back into eyefinity

and...

i want to give 3d gaming a try here soon :)
 
5040x1050 for me as well (5292x1050 if you count bezel correction)

I'll drop down to 1680x1050 for games that don't like triple-monitor (or 1400x1050 if they only work at 4:3).
 
1920x1080- Native resolution on my iiyama 22" LED Monitor. I've never seen any resolution in person higher than 1920x1080 so its the best thing since sliced bread atm lol. Is there much difference between 1920x1200 and 1920x1080?
 
depending on game and location

1280x800 on my laptop, between 1650x1050 and 5040x1050 on my desktop
 
i think they don't make 1920x1200 monitors any more because they want to force people to buy the more expensive monitors.
