Anybody that thinks "Washington" rules this country... boy have you folks got a lot to learn.

Damn straight. You know all these "harmless" diplomatic communiques?

Not so harmless.

Nothing like a narcissistic egomaniac with access to a traitor to put so many, many people in jeopardy.

How many died because of this leak? None.
I would say it's inert. Yeah if you blow up insulin plants in Norway some diabetics die, so did children when the IRA were blowing up schools. My point is that the information he leaked isn't needed by those who are already planning on doing something catastrophic. Those people already know what would cause as much damage as possible.
The only ones affected by this were Hillary and Obama and they are the teflon dons. This rolled off thier backs and by election time no one will remember her illegal espianage antics.

Name something on that list you can't get from Googling...

Didnt osama bin laden and bush get that honor? It's not really the same as "best person of the year" more, "most notorious of the year".

I don't really think he means anything to most people. Then again, I can't think of another replacement...maybe Lady Gaga.

So did Barak Obama along with a damn NOBEL PRIZE but for what I can't fathom.

That's true, but that's why it's now either referred to as "classical liberalism" or "libertarianism". Modern liberalism is barely watered down socialism combined with the same kind of morality enforcement that evangelical Christian conservatives get a hard-on for. Have to watch your terminology, sadly.

Once upon a time it mattered what kind of rights you stood for, be it individual or social. Now just standing for any rights at all is a whole ideology.

ok I looked it up. It was for things to do with nuclear weapons. Also he said a load of times he didn't know why he was getting it. So probably a popular candidate. Damnit I want one now.

Put him in front of me.

I'll slice that traitor up like a turkey..

Huh? He's being held in a UK jail without bail...

It was on the TV, local news. The clip of him running out with the imac was just a little clip they played before showing him being backed up in the paddy wagon. I dunno, I just know the douchebag uses a $2000+ 24"+ iMac as his apparent laptop.

Would you want to be a wanted person having to look over your shoulder every second of the day? Guilty or not I can't imagine that's a good way to live.

He made his life that way, are you nuts? He is spreading govt data, he knew damn well he was going to be on the run after that.

What crime is he admitting to?

There was a fucking bullshit international arrest warrant out for him. I would imagine he turned himself in to try and clear his name of these trumped up rape charges that just a couple months earlier Sweden said they had no evidence of. The more he dodged them, the worse it looked.

He's admitting he had some part in this rape allegation obviously. If he did nothing at all, then why would he even take the charge seriously, along with his own lawyers? I mean seriously think... he's already wanted by the US, and many other countries on MUCHHHHH worse fedral charges, those charges are 10x worse than rape. Why would he then turn himself in for a petty casual-rape charge...... it's common SENSE I think, and nobody can answer it.

Hard to be a traitor to the US when you aren't from the US. More like probable espionage.
I know he's not, still is a traitor in my book. At the very least a terrorist, has he released stuff about his home country?

Oh and FFS don't we have assassins? Great time to let them brush up on their skills.

Wha?? He is working with them to clear his name. Last time I checked no one else has charged him with a crime related to Wikileaks. US might talk the talk, but they so far besides talking trash haven't backed it up with anything.

I bet you are one of those people who think that when someone asks for their lawyer they are obviously guilty.

Ya know, only guilty people needs to know their rights. Just like only guilty people turn themselves in when there is a warrant out for them.

Yet he was not even the president yet when they decided to give it to him.
He doesn't know why he got it either? The answer is written all over his race.
I wish I was a token for a multimillion dollar prize.

Because it would have turned into an ugly manhunt where he would likely have been killed. He did the most rational thing by turning himself in. If he is innocent, he clearly has nothing to worry about from the rape allegation.

And he also increased the death potential and hatred towards all of his own fellow Australian troops over in the Middle East.

Wikileaks + instant global news = mass hatred created towards American and its allies (australia definitely included). Wikileaks makes the Coalition forces look bad, and the muslims and other countries who already are skeptical of our military will now see them as even worse enemies than before. And maybe even turn others from a neutral to a hatred standing towards the troops over there. This obviously is increased violence and separatism --- something that will SURELY LOSE THE WAR. ..... get the picture?

I'm not sure how it works in your country, but if you're innocent of a criminal charge you don't get to just ignore it and "not take it seriously."

LOL @ the number of people here who have no problems with their governments hiding what they actually do from them.

You know what else increased the death potential much, much more than these leaks? Sending more troops to the middle east.

So according to your logic....Sweden would put a assassination hit against him for petty soft-rape charges? (and this rape has a $800 fine from what I read)?

... but the USA, UK, Canada (which some politicians have already called to assassinate him, google that) would not try to harm him for spreading and ruining private talks and secret documents that could cause grave harm to many people?

Are you really such a moron as to think you can just ignore rape allegations even if you're innocent?

You're right. Nobody would have died in the Middle East as a result of the fanatacism, dictatorships, genocide and civil wars had "Western" countries not deployed troops.

No, I don't think you get what I'm trying to say.

I believe it was stupid of him to turn himself in on a $800 rape fine.... when he has outstanding warrants for other federal crimes in other countries. He is turning himself in for something he didn't do, and knows damn well he has done a lot of illegal shit that can get him caught and hung for a long time.

Not smart.... he's innocent for the rape maybe, yeah. But do you honestly believe they are going to let him go when all these countries want him so bad? We'll see but I think he's going in the shitter for good. (hopefully) Wikileaks is nothing but a nuisance.

Show me where.

Traitor?

When did he become a US citizen?

Knee-jerk reaction are not flattering. Freedom of the press is a beautiful thing and something the US founders shed plenty of blood creating and defending. This is no different unless you are in favor of the Corporate States of America.

He may be referring to the one who gave him the info

I don't think you know what you are saying.

What other warrants are you talking about? The rape warrant is the only one on the table AFAIK. I haven't seen any other country come forward with a warrant of any kind. They might not like what he has done and think hes a douchebag in general (which might be true), but they also know that hasn't done anything illegal yet either. At least nothing they can charge him with.

All you "someone needs to assassinate him" people need to bring yourself back down to reality. You should place the blame where it belongs: PFC Manning. He performed Treason against the US and will most likely be held accountable. Assange is just the messenger.

When my general feeling is politicians in the USA will do whatever the heck they want with little or no regard for their electorates, I can't really find a problem with full transparency. If they're not going to do what I want or what's in my best interest, I'd like to at least know wtf is going on. Is wikileaks the right way to achieve this transparency? No, most definitely not. It is however by far the best way currently available, mostly because FOIA is a total joke.

But like I asked earlier: Where and how did a friggin' private get that all that information?

What are you on about? You have not grasped "my logic". In my country, if you run from the law, even when innocent, the law comes after you. I would assume it is the same way elsewhere? He doesn't have outstanding warrants in other countries as far as I've heard. Running would just make him look worse and he would be assasinated. If he deals with his problems, he is less likely to die.

This isn't the Bourne Identity.
