Wrong Alarm. I rebooted PC and everything is fine now. Strange

Guys, my save data died. Game stuck on loading screen. Updating from steam cloud didn't work. I guess I'm doomed. I'm not going to start over. Could someone share with me your own save files? Any character 1st play through works. I was just passed the main line level where you need to fight bandits to pass initiation, then you are given a note and there is a bandit going around clapping. Also there was a side quest - shoot me in the face. Anyone have the save around this time? I would be glad if you share with me your save file from:
C:\Users\PC\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\SaveData

I think it was chapter 12 - BRICK, THE SLAB KING

What level are you guys waiting until to use your golden keys? does waiting til level 50 give you good end game loot? i was thinking maybe around 25-30 so i'd have some good weapons while i'm leveling.

Used mine at level 50. Got some really good level 50 guns.

Gear ramps up so fast past 40 that if you use your keys at 25 you'll be drooling over whites by 40.

Use your keys whenever it starts to get too tough. You'll have chances for more.

It's not like you are guaranteed to get anything super great anyway.

Meh, sniper rifles are for chumps. I throw out 2 rocket equipped turrets, toss out a slag singularity grenade and then go make myself a sandwich, pour another beer, read another book in War and Peace and then go pick up my loots.

In another note, badass varkids are a PITA to take out in PT2, and if by any chance one morphs to super badass... well, you better find a buidling in which such creature can't get to you. or you will feel miserably powerless :D:D

Oh, did I say how useful is to show those ninja stuff with Zer0? I think its almost the only way to kill those damn varkids... use deception, throw a few nades where you left the decoy, run away, throw those ninja stuff and keep running until deception is up again

LoL.. you think those are bad wait until you face an ultimate badass varkid or "Vermivorous the Invincible". Vermivorous is even tougher than Terramorphous.

I farmed the varkids one night for Vermivous for almost 3 hours and never got him. The next day I joined a pug and we had him twice within 15 minutes.

first time i went to the caustic caverns Vermivorous the invincible was the first enemy there, just waiting inside the door.

ass handed to me a whole lot of times. I was probably level 18 or so.

thanks for the sheet, I thought corrosive was the best. guess I can ditch all of those.

I'd hold-up on that for a sec because...

What??

It looks to me like Shock is the most balanced/ all around beneficial (for being at least 1x coeff among all targets) element

...yes, while I've seen the charts, something "in theory" can often be very "in practice", as is the case here.

Numbers are numbers, but try it for yourself and actually watch the results, and you'll see the difference. Watch the dmg done in-game, don't just go by a chart.

There are times where the numbers do work out, and match-up with the chart... at times. However, corrosive dmg, for example, has thus far proven to be more effective in situations where, instead, the chart would indicate the electric is the better choice.

Against armor, it's definitely corrosive all the way.

Against flesh, it's a "mixed bag", because I've seen corrosive do far more than electric, but then I've seen vice-versa.

Fire is always best against flesh regardless, but just to make the point.

For the most part, the chart is close, but the in-game mechanics prove to work different in different situations. It's not for me to explain why. I'm not a dev and didn't program the game.

Electric is definitely useful, and sometimes very powerful even against flesh, which generally it isn't. At other times, it's not very useful at all. Maybe there are some hidden "resists" that certain enemies have, but while it seems the most "balanced", as you've said, I've proof in playing the game that it is not an absolute and does always work out as it does on paper.

Hell, there have been times where I've blown-out enemy shields faster with fire, which shouldn't necessarily be the case, than with electric. At other times, not.

Anyway, just sayin'...

Mechro, Deathtrap and electrocuting enemies are both a blast, it'd definitely a fun class.

Given I put over 400 hours into the first Borderlands, and already almost 200 hours into B2, I'm sure I'll be putting in far more over time.

I still haven't hit lvl 50 with any character yet, however. As others have mentioned, the difficulty curve is a little insane after the 35-40 level mark.

Edit: As a side-note, explosive dmg is pretty underrated. It actually does a lot more than what the chart claims. I tried it vs electric, even while Gunzerking, and explosive trashed things far more/faster. Again, things vary a lot more than what's written on the chart.

Corrosive also lasts a lot longer in effect than electric.

Did you join a PUg that had already been there? Vermivorous will never be the first varkid to appear since Varkids have to morph multiple times to become Vermivorous.

As far as your ass handed to you multiple times - I don't believe you could beat him at level 18. I don't even think you'd be able to move his health bar a single pixel.

Found this Yellow/Orange gun today. I'm not very high level, but boy is this gun fun! It's called Rapid Infinity, and outside of the stats apparent in the screen, it has a fun scope and rotating barrel!

i can't tell you, I only play SP and I didn't get more than a few feet in the door when that giant thing came at me.

I did actually kill him but it was near impossible and it took me a VERY long time. it wasn't a badass or an adult. it is entirely possible that he can morph just from the varkids that you first encounter.

On the contrary. The way this game scales, I believe at lower levels the super monsters are far easier to kill than at higher levels. For instance, starting at lavel 38 de guns ramp up SO FAST its not even funny: they double damage every 4 levels, and the creatures double hp every not so many levels, which makes a vermivorous at max level a stomping giant but, at 18, not so much.

Still, it makes me wonder who the heck you could find such a morphed varkid the first time you enter :S

What I don't understand is how there haven't been any news stories about a BL fan punting a midget in RL

i've been doing some reading around on various subjects involving borderlands, and found that people are openly trading dupes on the borderlands official forums. i only ever play solo and with a couple of friends; is duping not frowned upon?

in diablo2 it didn't bother me because dupes were more prevalent than legit items (so it seemed) but in most other games i try to avoid cheesing/glitching, etc. If, however, the developers really don't care (and it looks like there won't be negative consequences) then i maybe using my friends to up my cash or copy great items...you know, when i FIND a great item

Playing Borderlands 2 with randoms is like leaving your computer at a LAN party for several hours with no passwords and then complaining you found gay porn on it.

everyone has been complaining about no gibbing and gore but i noticed that it does gib/splat if you are many levels hire than the enemy and insta-kill them.

It's more a complaint about no decapitations/extremely rare dismemberment.

They apparently did fix gibbing in a patch, though. Previously, when you gibbed an enemy, the body would stay along with the gibs. Looked really silly.

Just Finished BL2 . Level 38 , Will not play 2nd playthrough because alrready invested too much time into first one. Last monster was very good. Loot was good.

Finished the game and joined network game first time for a change and immediatelly found the guy who was opening golden chest like non stop and grabbing all kinds of awesome purple weapons from there.

Not fun. I played like 68 hours to get 3 Oranges and several good purples. This guy was able to get the same within 5 minutes :)

BTW, I found a bee grenade launcher. It fires the boll that flies forward, then stops , flies up and emits bazilion of selfguided missles. That was a killer machine :)

I feel sorry for you, the game doesn't really start until PT2.

I feel sorry for those who plays the same game second time with the same story line just on the other difficulty and with better guns. To invest even more time in this game one need to have no social life :) Game was good though.

Indeed , I could not beat Terramorphous at the end of PT1 but I went there, looked at it and decided it is not worth to spend time to leve up to lvl 50

I'm wondering how many people missed Arena mission with 5 waves of robots attacking you. There was no mission indicator for me., I just went there out of curiosity and got the mission.

That, actually, was the hardest mission for me. I spent may be 4 hours trying to beat all waves and needed to stop mission to level up on other missions to finally do the mission.

Where is that ? Ore chasm?

Where is that ? Ore chasm?

Yes, that one. I didn't have a starting mission about it. I just went there myself.

I'm actually very satisfied with huge amount of areas and location BL2 has in the game. Next step for the development team is to remove loading between the maps thoughon my SSD it takes like 5 seconds.

Also I enjoyed BL2 more then BL1. Last levels in BL1 were meh. BL2 kept all levels entertaining.

The place is called Fink's Slaughterhouse.

I also just walked into it on the way to something else.

I couldn't get past the first wave.:(

I'm level 25 or so and stuck on the 4th wave. I've died about 4 times now, to the tune of about $25,000. I said fuck it at that point. I'll come back when I've got better loot.

There are 2 arenas I found:

Fink's Slaughterhouse - Bandits arena
Ore chasm - Robots arena

Bandits one I spent like 3 hours but I passed it.
Robots arena was tough like my balls ;) I needed to quit it 3 times, level up outside and return later to pass it. And reward for it is not that great. It is just a matter of completing all the missions :)

I passed robots arena after farming a big ass huge giant robot in "Get to know Jack" side mission where I got awesome Bee Corrosive Rocket launcher that was raping robots apart. One shot 3-4 robots are dead garan teed. and Consructors usually down with 2 shots.

When PT1 is done...I'm still not even close...I'll take a break for several months and then revisit an old friend on PT2. PT2 is where the real fun begins, though. Crazy loot shows up. Awesome difficulty. It's a blast. When you beat PT2 if it's like part 1 you get what's unofficially called PT 2.5 and that's even more crazy loot and such.

The game lasts forever basically. ;)

I think you will get the same crazy loot and tough enemies with upcoming DLCs if you continue you level 30-40character from PT1.

The robot arena is where you help the robot "become human". A portal opens up in the building behind him. It is vastly more difficult than the bandit arena. There are 7 waves and the 7th features two constructors continuously shooting missles at you. fun stuffs. also a great place to level up.
