Are they nerfing or strengthening anything in this patch? I heard everyone talking about how a few weapons and the bee shield were getting nerfed.

Something I haven't seen addressed yet.
If someone wants to start a new toon, but have it completely independant of their first one, badass points and all, is there a way to do it?
XP received scales by level. Thats why you level up faster then them. They might be getting 2xp for enemies that give you 150, even though you're only 2-3 levels apart.i was 5 or 6 levels behind my friends, and after one or two days i'm caught up with them already. they're pretty much the same level, but said i've leveled much faster than they have. i've been playing sporatically as of late, and this is the 2nd time i've had to play catch up.
is it just because i'm behind in level? my friend started the day at 21, and i was 17. we did the bandit circle of slaughter mission (which he hadn't done either) in a session i started. when we finished, i was 21 and he was 22.
wtf is anarchy?
So leveled up the mechromancer to 9...a hell of a lot of fun to play. I'm basically running around with my bot and point-blanking people in the face with my shotgun that only has 1 shell in it, with 150 stacks of anarchy. I don't see how any other guns will be usuable with 150-250 stacks; even a few feet away with a shotgun I can barely hit anything. Anarchy is insane...critting for 800+ damage at level 6-7!
It's hilariously fast-paced though, I can see how I get deeper into the tree it's going to just be madness. The bot does quite a bit of damage actually; not sure if I would call it OP, but it will basically run around and kill several bad guys on its own while it is out. Can't wait for blood-soaked shield!
How do you force the game to update on Steam? I started my PC up, Steam started, didn't say it was updating, but I tried to play and it said something like "cannot sync to Steam Cloud".
I tried that and it sat at 0% for 5 minutes. Something weird is going on with Steam.

that's what i figured, just making sure something wasn't weird. most games have scaling xp but i didn't figure it would be that drastic. thinking back, the first borderlands was like that though
Would you say its the more fun character to play with?
Absolutely. I have a level 43 zero, a level 14 siren, and now a level 9 mechromancer. The special ability just feels much more special than the others I've played. Also, each tree just feels much more well thought out. Looking at the trees of all the other classes, there are a few skills I just really don't like, and other skills deeper in other trees that seem like they would fit a different tree better. Each Mechromancer tree I could easily see myself playing, and they complement each other well.
EDIT: Although does anyone else feel a bit like a creeper choosing outfits (skins) for, what, a 14 year old girl with pigtails? lol.
If you make a new character - do you start over at the very begining of the game or what?

Yes, you completely start over. However you do keep all the perks from your Badass points, unless you choose to disable them. Nothing else carries over from your other games.
There is a storage spot that lets you transfer items over to another character. Probably need online/cloud saves though.
Don't see any reason why you would need cloud saves for that
Me either. As long as you're playing on the PC, I don't think the cloud saves do anything for you...unless your hard drive goes kaput or something.
I do it just for that reason, as well as dropping local save files onto my NAS occasionally. Nothing sucks more than losing 50+ hours on a character...totally kills my desire to play.
Happened to my brother 2-3 times with Borderlands 1 before they added cloud saves to the Steam version. Not that many hours, but 15-20 hours lost each time.
After the first time I would start my own backups.
If you have/buy the BL2 season pass do you get the new necromancer pack?

Tried Anarchy. Did not like. Too irritating to manage, and it's a very hard habit to get into never reloading. Especially since you'll often go into a fight with one or two rounds in a magazine. And then one accidental press of R and the 40+ stacks it took fifteen minutes to gather is wiped.
The middle tree's fun so far. The elemental chance, special Deathtrap ability and shock storm thing, though it doesn't occur on every crit like the tooltip implies. Still prefer the siren, the long cooldown of the Deathtrap makes it almost one of those too-good-to-use abilities you end up saving and saving and never actually getting around to using. And you can't reclaim it like the sentry to cut the timer short.
Fun enough.
wasn't the mechromancer free for pre-orders?
how long does deathtrap last for when "cast"?
