The Official Borderlands 2 Thread

Does anybody know if relics that reduce your ability cooldown stack with comms that also reduce your ability cooldown? I'm rolling with a comm that gives 25% reduction in cooldown and +3 to sentry and +4 to resourceful and a relic that gives +30.2% health, but i just picked up another relic that reduces cooldown by 20%.

I would totally trade 30% health for another 20% reduction on cooldown with dual rocket turrets.

However, they made one mistake I cant understand: using shock damage for criticals with your character.

Shock damage does absolutely no dmg to flesh, and not everything has shields, such as skags etc. It's rather a waste, IMO, as when you kill with a crit, the shock storm is useless unless there are enemies with shields around.

What??

It looks to me like Shock is the most balanced/ all around beneficial (for being at least 1x coeff among all targets) element

Dang, don't know if it's because it's early in the game and will balance out later, but Deathtrap is a killing machine. Pretty sure he can solo all of the early bosses.

I tested last night-- Deathtrap can solo a "GOD-Liath". I kid you not, but I was running around like a little girl while he wailed away at the monstronsity. Deathtrap has already soloed two bosses so far.

Note: I respec-ed my Mechromancer to the middle skill tree and bumped that skill that improves DT's melee damage three times. It pushes it to overkill.

the way BL works there is no early in the game. rather it sounds like the character is unbalanced and will likely get nerfed.

Yeah, the Mechromancer seems a bit too OP starting off. Deathtrap I hear is just unreal. And her talents sound like there won't be no down slope. I'm expecting she will be getting some heavy "normalization" lol.

Personally I'm still pretty happy with my Gunzerker. I know Zer0 can be gimicky as well with The Bee and Conference call. The Siren sounds pretty balanced so far, as does the Commando. None of it really bothers me, I don't plan to PvP really, as long as the classes are all balanced enough to clear content, which it seems like they are right now. Just would be nice to see more weapon options at end game than Conference Call.

Also if anyones interested in watching some co-op gameplay with me and a friend, just starting to cover some of my favorite quests and moments, all the funny stuff I see in the game, check it out here!

I hope not. I haven't played as her yet, but it sounds quite appealing. Once I finish my first playthough, I really don't know if I'd rather start a second playthrough with the same save, or start a fresh game with her. Sure, it may make the game easier and more casual, but there isn't necessarily anything wrong with that.

finished the 5 rounds at the hyperion arena today.

that 5th round I was worried about running out of ammo at times.

2 constructors at once was almost killer also but the area affords you a few places where you can just sit there and not be bothered and pick stuff off one at a time.

This is perfect timing for the DLC! I'm finishing up my first play-through and will be ready next week for some new content!

So, I see that if I buy the Mechromancer pack specifically, along with access to the Mechromancer, I get a Golden Key, a Vault Hunter's Relic and a Gold Gun Pack. Anyone know if you get these things if you purchase the Season Pass instead, or would the extra perks be worth the extra $10 I'd be spending overall to buy them each individually?

All of those items were part of the Premier Club, that is not part of the Season Pass.

the relic and gold guns become useless from the start or soon after. not missing anything.

Yeah, I'm actually a little disappointed in the pre-order bonuses (other than the Mechromancer, which in and of itself was worth it). The "Golden Gun" pack was a bunch of Level 1 low-end weapons that you replace with something literally twice as good within the first 15 minutes of gameplay. The relic is pretty much useless from a lot of testing (basically, using hacks and upping it to 10000% or something only makes it so enemies always drop greens, never whites, but blues/purples and up have the same rarity regardless), and the Golden Keys have been given out for free via Shift like candy.

You should really tip a lot of money to miss Moxy. She gave me that way 3 guns. 2 so so SMGs and one excellent shotgun.

Also I spent today 2 hours on the bandits arena clearing 5 waves of bandits. That was intense. Leveled from 25 to 27 staying in one single room killing bandits.

Moxxi doesn't give anything other than the good touch and bad touch when tipping.

If you received anything else from her it would have been from a side quest

Oh, probably yes. Still shotgun from sidequest is much better then those 2 SMGs given for tipping.

The SMG's scale to your level, if you got them at level 3 they are level 3 SMG's, if you got them at level 48 they are level 48 SMG's.

if you got them and didnt use them right away, especially at a low level, they would have been obsolete pretty quickly.

zero has the escalating critical hit multipliers with a sniper, using them I can usually take out a constructor within 10 shots @ 1200pts + 180% crit, 5x mutiplier, + crit stacker, first shot does 10k damage and it climbs 1200 pts each time. Insanely OP.

Sooo, you were disappointed with the pre order but it was worth it....

determined-fumanchu-computer-stare.png

I didn't say it wasn't worth it, just that the pre-order incentives other than the Mechromancer ended up being disappointing. That's all.

You can still be disappointed in parts of something but the thing on the whole is worthwhile.

To elaborate, I guess my point is that with the Golden Key, they made it seem like some unique, special thing where you could unlock a "rare item", when in reality they gave a ton away, and not only that but you were able to have an infinite amount for a few days before it was patched. Plus, the "rare item" is just a completely randomized purple (or multiple purples) that you can theoretically find from a drop. As for the Golden Guns, I was expecting at least a rare-ish set of weapons. No. It's just a set of low-level "white" items with special skins, nothing more.

I love the game and I think it was totally worth the money for the pre-order and the Season Pass. However, I had to admit that I was disappointed with some of the pre-order bonuses that sounded a lot more special than they really were.

Oh crits get better, highest crit I've done on a training dummy was 4.9mil, and that was when I only had a 14k sniper. I never tested it when I got my 26k purple in pl2.5.

Then the bee shield changes everything, I'm not going to use it for expansions because of how breaking it is.

Once you get to around level 40something and have all the melee bonuses it's insane, i've taken out a constructor in a few swipes if you do it right.

My level 50 Zer0 with as many points in sniper I can put has a 32K sniper rifle. By about the 7th or 8th critical hit the Constructor 2.0 is scrap metal. :D

Yeah, I think they ned to change his buff a bit. I understand thats the point of being a Sniper and all, but killing things almost instantly in a game when others take much much longer doesn't quite work out right.

purchased season pass.

I hope the DLC at least scales up correctly when it comes out. it would suck to have it not.

with my siren and the sniper rifle I have, I can sniper the critical spot 7 or 8 times and take them out.
like a 2.3k damage with 9 round mag, very fast rate of fire and a 98.X accracy.

Isn't that the whole joy of using snipers though? One shot, one kill etc. etc.

I think all that needs to be changed is the accuracy over long distances with all guns. You can shoot people from miles away with any gun!! And those physcos that throw axes, they can throw them as far as guns shoot.

Clearly you have not used many Bandit weapons or basically any shotguns...

IMO, that feature is totally useless. Crit stacking works very slowly... yet decays VERY FAST. Also, its only useful when using snipers and, let me tell you something, snipers are not good for everything, nor you have any ammo-regeneration mods which means that you need to use other weapons.

Snipers are for enemies that move slowly or when you are far away from them, which is a scenario that doesn't work all the time. In this game you require a combination of different weapons (aka SMG, shotgun, sniper + whatever else you use) so that you always have ammo for something.

All in all, the badass ultimate for zero is, without any doubts, the second tree: it shoots those ninja things that make a ton of damage + elemental stuff, mark the creatures, heal while in deception, etc. Much more useful than any of those other trees... since the close-combat tree doesn't autokill, which means that you have to shoot them first and your dps while shooting are kinda poor.

At least, to me...

Things might get a little hairy at times but I have no issues with using the (mostly) full sniper tree.

My only issue is NOT ENOUGH SNIPER RIFLE AMMO.

LOL yeah I agree. If these weapons existed in RL wars would last only 17 minutes. 19 minutes with Torgue guns due to reload times.

Agreed. I've actually thought about respeccing and putting that point elsewhere. It's slightly helpful when you first enter an area full of bad guys, however the highest I've ever gotten it is only around 18x-20x stacks, which quickly drop off. That isn't all that much extra damage.

Same (for me) with the extra crit when you stay zoomed in. My style of sniping is to acquire target unzoomed, scope, and take them out with a HS. I'm just simply not as good tracking them down scoped. I'm actually having a bit of difficulty sniping in pt2; my 6k sniper rifle just isn't doing enough damage and I'm taking out most bad guys with my shotgun.

The hardest things to snipe are the rat thingies, everything else is pretty easy to crit with some patience.

I think the limited ammo is in place to prevent using it like a single burst assault rifle. My highest non-element damage rifle fires at like 4rounds/sec. It's really good damage and if I become careless I can drain my ammo with so many shots to kill an emey without crits. When I steady my breathing, take my time, and get those crits in, ammo is hardly an issue.

Meh, sniper rifles are for chumps. I throw out 2 rocket equipped turrets, toss out a slag singularity grenade and then go make myself a sandwich, pour another beer, read another book in War and Peace and then go pick up my loots.
