Cyberpunk 2077

If nothing for my personal future review, this was my pre-2.0 end-game character that rocked out crazy orange tier armor. Now it's just silly looking.

Yeah chooms, this was the last thing you saw before being blown away. Geeze.

i looked absolutely ridiculous on my first playthrough at launch.

it was like a high vis construction vest, motorcycle helmet, mini skirt, ugg boots.

i was the most meth'd out looking skank that could literally kill everyone in a building in seconds by hacking a vending machine and making everyone's head light on fire

Ok.. ok.. I got some nice special yellow jacket and cargo pants. All dressed up for the governor's ball in Dogtown.

Wrapped up the DLC and was 210% amazed at the story line, completeness, and added experience. I can't remember a game that really laid into the DLC with the full brunt of their writers and carving out an compelling story. I should have bought this at full price, but good on me for the half assed discount.

While not a super difficult DLC (after I got my feet under me from the 2.0 update) I added in another 41 hours of side and main mission game play.

I won't be going back for the other three missions as I am super satisfied (satisfied like a half dead cyborg shot to the moooooon!) with my ending, and I have a few things to mop up, but damn. Just.. damn. If you dug the main game the DLC is right up that alley and then some.

Putting the game down as I am pretty sure I've done all the things, mopped up all the missions, and darn near completed my weapons wall.

Seems I borked Jackie's gun and Lexington X-MOD2. Oh well.

In case there's a new update that trashes my skill tree here's my load out.

Ugh, one last dive in to get a few weapons I missed, but mostly for this big fella. Reminds me The Violator from Saints Row 4.

Done with 2nd playthrough and Phantom Liberty.
I have to say, I thought going through Dogtown in the beginning was going to be something like Escape from New York, but it was so much more and than some and I loved it.

I did every main, NCPD scanner, gig and side mission that I could find. Did every single ending as well except The Devil and Panam's since I did that one the first time around.

For the same reason that modi123 pimped his skillz, I'm doing the same.

CAD4466HK - nice loadout! I am still hopping in the game just to mindlessly murder gang folk because dang it I'm McGruff the Crime Dog cleaning up the city! That and I need one more perk point to open up my extra 'hand' slot so I can fill it with the tattoo added. ha!

Also found a number of amusing things while murder-hobo'ing around.
A dead "Mr. Anderson"/Matrix homage under a window washing scaffolding.
A reference to GTA over on some train tracks to a tunnel near a trailer park.
A Fallout vault 101 reference in the south east desert area.

I think it's safe to say that any good sci-fi movie/anime/show has easter eggs somewhere. One of best reasons to check every corner.

I am never a fan of Lego-adjacent sets or companies, but this looks a mix of really goofy looking figures but interesting construction. Odd to see LEDs right out of a box.

Certainly not for me, but someone may get a kick out of it.

Too bad it doesn't include the complimentary Tyger Claw, flopping around on the ground like a dead fish after a rogue BD or some rando saying you stink of junk food.

Nothing of value was added, and it likely broke all the mods. Meh...

Redesigned camera mode is not enough for me to reinstall the game.

I never uninstalled it, but this is not even enough to want to load it up again.

I didn't play it after the last major patch. The thing about being able to scan color schemes from other cars and apply them to yours is pretty awesome. A lot of mods I installed in the game previously were all for car related stuff. So this is pretty awesome to me. The character customization is also nice, though I'm not sure how much I'll personally get out of it.

Tried it yesterday and Silverhand is around more as a vehicle passenger but his random quips started to become a little annoying or distracting. Who asked for this?! I think may use the motorcycles from now on, lol.

Basically the game has already been completed (years after release!) and these updates are just a bonus imho.

man too many games ahhhh.... Dan_D yeah the new car scanning + applying stuff is pretty trick. I gotta get back into this game for a night or two. It's so gloriously beautiful with the 4090/OLED combo.. so much amazing great side quest content too.

My first thought was literally: OK, but can it be turned off? When they revealed this feature.

Cyberpunk 2077 - Patch 2.21

https://www.cyberpunk.net/en/news/51296/patch-2-21

This update adds support for DLSS 4 on PC and introduces various fixes, notably to SmartFrames on Xbox and Photo Mode across all platforms. For details, check the full list of changes below:

Photo Mode

  • Nibbles and Adam Smasher can now be spawned while V is in the air or in water.
  • Fixed the Facial Expression option for Adam Smasher.
  • Fixed an issue where Adam Smasher's glowing chest cyberware was missing.
  • Fixed an issue where, if Johnny's Alternate Appearance was enabled, both options to spawn him (default and alternate) resulted in the alternate look.
  • Characters spawned while V is in the air or in water will no longer snap to the ground.
  • Characters will now be properly saved in presets.
  • Spawned characters will now be visible after adding a background.
  • V's rotation and position will now be properly saved in presets.
  • Fixed an issue where adjusting the Up/Down slider for V wouldn't change their position between certain values.
  • NPCs that turn invisible after disabling the Surrounding NPCs option will no longer have collision.
  • Fixed an issue where loading a preset could cause additional light sources to appear even when disabled, or spawn them in incorrect positions.
  • Fixed an issue where the camera could get stuck on walls after setting Full Collision to ON.
  • Fixed an issue where camera settings would only apply after loading a saved preset twice.
  • Enabling a background will no longer change camera position.
  • Rotating the camera will now work properly with a background enabled.
  • Fixed an issue where the prompts for Move Camera and Rotate Camera would appear when the camera cannot be moved (e.g. when using the First-Person Perspective camera).
  • Fixed an issue where it wasn't possible to move the camera after spawning a character while highlighting the Edit Character option.
  • Disabling Chromatic Aberration in the Graphics settings will no longer affect the ability to adjust it.
  • Fixed an issue where some items in scenes disappeared after setting the Surrounding NPCs option to OFF.
  • Fixed an issue where enabling PhysX Cloth would unfreeze NCPD vehicles.
  • The rule of thirds grid will now properly adapt to the selected aspect ratio.
  • Fixed an issue where the image in a SmartFrame wouldn't be visible if accessed while V was not facing it.
  • Fixed an issue where opening Photo Mode simultaneously with Wardrobe or Stash caused the game to become unresponsive.
  • Fixed an issue where it was possible to access Photo Mode before a save file fully loaded, causing it to open without UI and block any further action.
  • Fixed other minor Photo Mode issues related to spawned characters, camera movement, controls, and more.
  • Fixed various UI issues in Photo Mode, SmartFrames and Gallery menus, including slider inconsistencies, localization errors, missing sound effects, incorrect behavior when interacting with certain features, and more.

Vehicle Color Customization

  • Fixed several texture and color inconsistencies for vehicles that have CrystalCoat applied.
  • Fixed an issue where the explanation of the spray paint icon was missing in the Autofixer tutorial pop-up after a vehicle contract was completed.
  • Fixed several minor UI issues in the CrystalCoat and TwinTone menus.

Character Creation

  • Randomizer settings in Character Creation will now be preserved after advancing to the Customize Attributes step.
  • Fixed an issue where the Piercing Color option would not be available in Character Creation after enabling piercings if V initially had none.
  • Fixed other minor issues in Character Creation, including appearance options not applying correctly, visual clipping, inconsistent UI behavior, functionality issues after using the randomizer, and more.

Miscellaneous

  • Run This Town - Fixed an issue where, under certain circumstances, it wasn't possible to deactivate the Aguilar imprint after meeting with Bennett.
  • Fixed several instances where Johnny could appear duplicated in the passenger seat during some quests when he was already present in the scene.
  • Fixed an issue where Johnny did not appear as a passenger often enough.
  • Introduced several fixes to NPC and vehicle behavior for various small events throughout Night City.
  • Fixed an issue where some vendors were not interactable as intended.
  • Fixed an issue where voiceovers on TV news channels could be missing or too quiet.
  • Fixed an issue where the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech used a description of Quadra Turbo-R 740 instead of its own unique one.
  • Fixed the missing 2.2 "check what's new" pop-up in the main menu.

Console-specific

  • Fixed an issue where screenshots appeared as blank in the Gallery on Xbox if they were taken with HDR10 enabled.
  • Added a pop-up in the Gallery to notify players when access to screenshots is blocked by the console's privacy settings on Xbox.
  • Screenshots deleted on Xbox outside the Gallery UI will now be correctly marked in the Gallery and will disappear from occupied slots after reopening the Gallery.
  • Fixed an issue where the Graphics Mode on Xbox Series S could be set to Quality instead of Performance by default.

PC-specific

  • Added support for DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation for GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards, which boosts FPS by using AI to generate up to three times per traditionally rendered frame – enabled with GeForce RTX 50 Series on January 30th. DLSS 4 also introduces faster single Frame Generation with reduced memory usage for RTX 50 and 40 Series. Additionally, you can now choose between the CNN model or the new Transformer model for DLSS Ray Reconstruction, DLSS Super Resolution, and DLAA on all GeForce RTX graphics cards today. The new Transformer model enhances stability, lighting, and detail in motion.
  • Fixed artifacts and smudging on in-game screens when using DLSS Ray Reconstruction.
  • The Frame Generation field in Graphics settings will now properly reset after switching Resolution Scaling to OFF.

Trying it out on my RTX2060 and a guide would be helpful if I can find one as it either looks weird, glitchy or performs bad when I enable frame generation and ray tracing. Ended up turning off frame generation and ray tracing restored to where I originally had it.

The new transformer model with ray reconstruction is super impressive. Running with DLSS quality on my 3080 the worst parts of the image is very close to native with TAA and some parts of the image is far superior to native with TAA.

The old DLSS was always more blurry on a lot of fine details and edges than native, from my limited testing I feel the new transformer model is overall better than native with TAA. Especially fast motions and stuff that would shimmer on the CNN model is much improved on the new transformer model.

There is a performance penalty though on older hardware so for the 3080 it is more like DLSS Ultra Quality as the frame rates seem to land in the middle of native TAA and the old DLSS Quality. E.g. if native runs on with an average of 45 FPS, then transformer would be around 60 FPS and CNN would be around 75 FPS.

Now that the new Nvidia driver is out, do we expect any improvements that we've not already seen in DLS 4? I'm personally not expecting much with my 2060 but was curious.

Coming back to check out DLSS 4 in Cyberpunk made me realize how unimpressive Stalker 2 looks.

STALKER 2 is only using software ray tracing...hardware ray tracing is coming in a future patch...which should hopefully improve the visuals
