Cyberpunk 2077

I've been holding off properly playing this for that very reason, want to be able to play at 4k at max settings and get good frames, which my laptop cannot do. The new AMD and NVIDIA gpus cannot release soon enough. Ditto for playing STALKER 2.

You will probably have to wait for 6090 for max settings at 4k. Even a 4090 is around 20fps with max settings at 4k without using some form of DLSS/Frame generation.

Beat me to it. Though I think the RTX 4090 is closer to the 30FPS mark than 20FPS. You could get about 22FPS on an RTX 3090 and a 12900K at the time.

It’s worth it. This game is phenomenal on state of the art hardware. RTX 4090. LG G4 65 inch OLED. Sonos Arc, sub, and rears. This game just makes me so happy when I’m playing. 250 hours so far.
Environments, lighting and shadows look phenomenal but I was pretty disappointed with the character models. Some of the NPCs walking the streets look pretty terrible while other main character NPCs look great. I levelled up my hacking abilities which I kind of regretted as all my fights became hacking as opposed to shooting.

It's a great game but I don't think it looks as amazing as everyone makes it out to be... I guess I'm not as easily impressed by graphics these days. I think Red Dead Redemption 2 impressed me more...

I played it on 4k HDR monitor everything max except DLS at balanced and was getting a steady 60FPS.

what you mean

Extremely hard to do, a giant 3090->4090 type of jump would push it at 40fps, that can be playable... as the game could have had updates to make it easier to run by that time....

DLSS Quality + Ray reconstruction could get over 80 fps too (while looking better than native in many ways).

Damn, oh well
I'll still reinstall it once I finally build or buy a new system, it will probably seem amazing after gsming for 6 years with a 2070powered laptop

I still haven't played this yet...the parts for my new 7800X3D build are on its way...so I might fire it up soon...I didn't want to play it on my current 5800X, RTX 3080 system as I want to enable path tracing...I prefer my first playthrough to be as ideal as possible

the longer I wait, the shorter the wait for the Cyberpunk sequel :geek:

I just realized it still have the 1.0 launch cyberpunk still installed on my system. I never patched it, because I stopped playing it before they fixed it.

That was probably before they added path tracing. Max settings with hybrid RT should be doable on a 5090 at 4k, but max setting is PT which is a different beast.

As soon as I finish Days Gone I will be ready to re-play this with Liberty City!

The worst FSR 3 implemenations so far.

"FSR3 FG in Cyberpunk 2077 being completelly dysfunctional, only interpolating a small circle in the middle of the screen because Vignette is now UI element that disables FSR3 FG.Removing vignette via mods reveals a plethora of issues underneat, it's ridiculous."

It's really like that. I just tested it. It looks horrendous and FSR upscaling (I have read it is still FSR 2.0?) itself looks really bad too. How something like this can even be published is fascinating.

I cannot wrap my head around why CDPR took nearly a year to implement FSR FG and they stuck with the earliest, worst version of FSR 3.0 instead of a current version of FSR 3.1
Truly baffling stuff.

Please stop bumping this thread… I think I might actually have a Cyberpunk problem. I lose two hours of my life every time I launch this game to ‘mess around’ in it. lol

Holy moly this is a harsh new learning curve. Last played 2021.08.20 at 136 hours so sure, get the DLC and fire 'er back up. I mean it's the reason I jumped from 1660 to a 4070super, amirite?

Oooooh boy. Yeah I probably should have watched a few 'hey you are going into 2.0 so here is what you need to know' videos. I vaguely remember being an angel of death at the end of my play through and now I am all weak as a kitten. Took a bit to get to a ripper doc and started burning through credits and orange upgrade parts to bump up my implants.. let alone trying to vaguely remember what my stat tree looked like.

At least with that all done I was able to meander around relearning the controls and game while killing tiger claws.

I still don't quite have a handle on vehicle combat and was getting roasted by Asaka SUVs.. but that'll be tomorrow's issue.

I just finished Phantom Liberty for the first time. I played the base game at launch and I started my second playthrough of the game a couple weeks ago and loved the changes that 2.0 made. It kept the character building interesting and added some new challenges and balance to the core play mechanics of the netrunner build that I'm using. I focused on intelligence and technology and then started to focus on the "cool" attribute. Crafting has been changed up as well. Phantom Liberty really blended well into the base game and I found myself doing missions from both the base game and the expansion at the same time. Really great story and acting. I liked the set pieces as well. This is one of the better game experiences I've had over the last 5 years. The game is more polished now and I only experienced 2 crashes out of 150 hours of play. No game breaking bugs and the visual bugs were minimal. The game really runs smooth and feels responsive at 4k max everything with a 4090. The game remains one of the best looking games on the market.

Yeah, CP2077 is a game you can enjoy getting lost in. I'm still slow pacing my second play through. So much more to do now since my first.

I'll do a 3rd play through when I upgrade to a new PC with a RTX 5080 and a 4K monitor hopefully next year and can really turn up the eye candy.

If nothing for my personal future review, this was my pre-2.0 end-game character that rocked out crazy orange tier armor. Now it's just silly looking.

Yeah chooms, this was the last thing you saw before being blown away. Geeze.

He looks like he jumped into a laundry basket and back out again, and that's just the clothes that stuck.

For sure! I wish I had taken a few screen shots of the stats in 2021, but all of that was high armor buff threads. In post 2.0 game now I look like a three year old was allowed to dress me. Unless something really cool comes along I think the deadly reputation of Johnny Moonboots-Sparkle will live on.

At least you didn't have to burn up any eddies dealing with some gonk doughboy trying to impress their mainline.
