Pretty short game.
The presentation was fantastic. But the dumbed down gameplay kinda sucked.
BS1 a better game. But Infinite is still a worthy game.
How many hours is it taking you guys to reach the end? Just curious.
Make sure you have no video capture software running, launches fine then.
If you want to stream/record it still:
Close capture app, run as admin, close steam, run as admin, launch game, launch app
If you are not running any capture app, test newest beta drivers then newest non-beta.
Took me like 10.
I have no programs running in the background. Using nvidias newest drivers which is supposed to fix Bioshock and it still crashes. It seems to be random. I can play for hours with no issues and sometimes it'll crash after 15min. The worst part is the stupid autosave, it's twice now where it crashes and I have to replay the same 10-15min section.

Does Infinite have the same mouse problems that the original Bioshock had? As in, piss-poor-excuse-for-a-PC-title mouse movement?
What is "dumbed down" about it? I'm curious.
I'm pretty close to the end I think. I was going to finish it tonight, but I kept crashing during the same battle, so I'll just finish tomorrow.
Only 2 weapons
No different ammo types.
No health / eve packs ( replaced with use on pickup + recharge shield )
No Hacking
The list goes on.
Its still a solid game. But BS1 is much better imo.
My only gripe was the sensitivity slider. On the lowest "tick", it was too slow for me, but the next tick up was too fast. I had to create my own mouse profile for it.
But that is, of course, purely subjective.

No Hacking
No hacking? What do you expect to hack in a game set in 1912, a potato?![]()
I tried the poolsize and memory margin tweak but it still stutters alot when it loads stuff up into vram. I tried a tweak I saw over on the Steam forums and it works a whole lot better. No more stuttering here.
Go to the file XEngine.cfg (Documents\My Games\BioShock Infinite\XGame\Config)
change "bUseBackgroundLevelStreaming=true" to "bUseBackgroundLevelStreaming=false"
First one was set in 1960, sooo....

Gosh this game is beautiful. It's just so slightly short of locked-in 60 fps with a 680 though. Anyone running with 680 SLI? I'm debating whether or not to get a 2nd one.

Seems like glass half empty kind of thinking, no offense.
And actually, the Early Bird gear is kinda cheap. Like you get something that makes you have a high chance (I'm guessing like 75%+) to electrocute someone on a melee hit. Which is basically a one-hit kill, nearly every time. Kinda makes it too easy. I'm playing on Hard as well and it seems easy
I never notice any considerable slowdown on my single 680 at max settings and 1920x1080. I wouldn't buy another card just for this game.
It was replaced by hitting E on a lockpick. It's dumbed down gameplay. Sad fact.
Regardless tho. It is a great game. The presentation sells it alone.
Yeah it's @ 60fps vsync'ed about 98% of the time. I have shadows set to very high and post processing @ normal instead of alternate, everything else on ultra. I also have FXAA forced in the control panel and on in the game. What is weird is that this applies the FXAA effect twice (I tested to make sure), but it doesn't seem any blurrier than one FXAA pass. Edges are super smooth though, looks as good as downsampling to my eyes.
I'm getting 83.4fps average on the DX11_DOF benchmark setting @ 1920x1200. If anyone has run it on that setting with 680 SLI I'd like to know what you got, thanks.
I don't have the Early Bird Gear and I found something similar early on in the game just by exploring...something like 75% fire damage with a melee hit...just further evidence why most pre-order bonus items suck and are not worth it

You guys realize you can grab hold of the slider for mouse sensitivity in the settings and move it left and right? THe first tick was too slow for me too. And the next tick was too fast, so I just moved the slider in between the first and second ticks. Perfect.
