After doing some more trial and error I came across the specifications that state this board does not support 3000. I am not sure if this is why this is causing problems I am going to back it off to 2933 and see if that fixes the problem. I am surprised it does not support this speed.
I was hoping someone knew if there was a setting or something that I was missing that would help me understand this problem.
Here is my setup.
ASRock Z170 Extereme4+
Intel Core i5-6600k
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) pc4 24000 (3000)
EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 512MB 256-bit DDR3
Nothing is...
I have the memory in slots A2 and B2.
I went into the DRAM Information and it let me select the parameters that I wanted so I chose all of the XMP Profile settings and exited it and I noticed that did not change the "Write Recovery Time" (tWR) to the correct value (17) it left it at 16. So...
I built a new skylake system using an ASRock Z170 Extreme4+ , Intel Core i5-6600k and Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000 2x8GB kit (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15R). I have upgraded the motherboard to the latest bios 1.50 but can not get this memory to run in XMP mode (3000 15-17-17-35) it refuses to even...
I have this same memory in an asrock z170 extreme4+. It will not post if I enable xmp but if I tweak it to 2800 instead of 3000 it works fine. Not sure what the deal is but I have seen a lot of people having problems with this memory.
Ignore them SD11, if they don't get it by now they aren't going to and there is no sense in wasting your breath any more. Those who get it, get it, those who don't, never will.
For those of you who want to hear from an industry insider how about Bethesda talking about skyrim...
Had some problems viewing the slide deck. Looks like the query string is getting to long as you progress through the deck. Haven't seen this problem before in any of these types of image lists.
I am using Google Chrome (Latest) if that helps any.
The 360 console really isn't in that bad of shape. I think Microsoft could do themselves a favor to upgrade their hardware so that it can continue to compete for the next few years with some minor changes that would not take a lot of development/testing training and increased cost.
Here is a...
I've been reading reviews and watching prices on these two new SSD's and from what I can tell the difference is the number of IOPs that each one can do.
Vertex 2 - Random Write 4KB (Aligned): 50,000 IOPS
Agility 2 - Random Write 4KB (Aligned): 10,000 IOPS
My question is, what kind of...
I actually have 5 hard drives in this machine. The other drives are other manufactures (WD,Hitachi, Maxtor) and have had no problems with any of these drives. I wonder if this could possibly be a heating problems with these hard drives not being cooled enough. I am using a Antec True Power...
I have 2 of these drives that I have had for almost a year now and one of them just failed AGAIN! This is the 3rd time I have had to send them in for RMA, of course I always have to pay for shipping to them (like $15) and last time I had to send in both of them. Are other people having a high...
In the article the reviewer states "
The speed of the display was JUST noticeably slower than the primary display attached to the video card but even though I could notice it if I tried, it did not affect my productivity at all."
I wish he would have given more information about this, as I...
My current setup has a 8800GTS 512 for the primary video card and a FX 5500 as a secondary video card for the 3rd monitor (Heterogeneous Multi-adapter). Well I come to find out after upgrading to the 8800GTS that I Vista only allows you to use 1 driver for all video cards.
The article about...
I had a friend using G-Archiver to do his backups of some local files and thought I would look into it as it seems to be an interesting way of doing things. Then I came across this http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/archives/001072.html . I couldn't believe what I was reading but thought I would...
Has anyone heard of this compression or seen any information about it? All I can find is references back to the program but no comparison on file sizes etc. Has anyone used this?

I use to love to play Tribes 2, the mix of large battlefield, useful vehicles that weren't too strong and the ability to pick up speed quickly by skiing and jetpack made it a blast. I use to love to get up behind you snipers or heavies that weren't paying attention and zap them in the back. I...
While Powercolor refused to help me and told me it was my fault. Newegg went out of their way to help me and is letting me return it. Shame on Powercolor for their shoddy product!
I don't have any pictures of th inside of the computer but its only a few months old and there is hardly any dust in it. None that I can see. Wasn't sure if there was something i was suppose to do.
OK I got a PowerColor Radeon X1950PRO 512MB card back in September and it started making a hell of a racket a few days ago so I contacted PowerColor to figure out what I could do as its obvious that the fan was about to go out. Their technical support started off nice enough but after they...
I continue to have this problem. Does anyone else have these errors? Is there a possibility that I have a bad disk? Whats the chances of both disks having problems?
I seem to keep getting the error message that "A drive in RAID 0 is failing" This keeps flipping back and forth between one drive and the others. I this common in RAID 0 on Intels RAID chipset? I could understand if it was one drive, but flipping back and forth between 2 drives is kind of...
My setup is currently like this:
Gigabyte Controller:
0: SATA 250GB System drive
1: SATA DVD-RW
Intel Controller
0:SATA 500GB --
1:SATA 500GB | RAID 0
2:SATA 500GB |
3:SATA 500GB --
4: Empty
5: Empty
Now I don't want to back up everything in the RAID arry only a...
I have looked around but haven't found anything on this. I have a new motherboard with the ICH9R south bridge and was wondering. It has 6 SATA headers now if I want to use 4 for RAID 0 and one of the remaining 2 for CD-Rom or another Hard drive in non-raid configuration, is this possible?
I...
Does anyone know if you can take any PCI Express graphics card and stick it in your x1 slot.
I want to add an additional graphics card to my pc and all I have open is PCI Express x1slots. I saw that there are x1 cards out there but they are over 100$. So my question is will a standard PCI...
I am working on building a machine to take over for my old server (Gateway 6400 for those of you who got in on that deal 6 years ago). I use this thing with snapstream to record shows, file storage, NewsLeecher, Bit torrents, webserver, vpn endpoint. And want to add a few things to the new...
That is correct. The PC has 2 addresses.
Public Address [Interface on the Internet]
Private Address [Interface for the VPN Tunnel]
By default, all Internet connections go use the public address to the internet.
But for some applications, Yahoo Messenger for instance, I want to go over...
Yes that is correct. Although the VPN still goes through my ISP it would go through the VPN tunnel to the VPN Endpoint and to the internet that way instead of directly through my ISP.
I have a pc with multiple connections that looks like this:
[Internet] -- [Router] -- [LAN] -- [PC] -- [VPN Tunnel] -- [remote network] -- [Router] -- [Internet]
Ok by default on the PC everything goes through the LAN to get to the internet. The routes specify that the LAN interface is...
Have you seen this?
StarSiege 2845 Website
Its suppose to have an Alpha Tech Release on Wednesday. Hopefully this will be more like Tribes 2.
I probably spent more time playing Tribes 2 than any other game in my life. Was going through a divorce at the time and really helped take...
Did you look at it with CPU-Z, this is what my GA965PDS3 looks like:
I wouldn't think the 965G and 965P chips are interchangable on a motherboard but someone else should probably confirm this.
Before you buy a G I would recommend you check out this thread.
Ananadtech Forums Topic - Accidently got GA-965G-DS3 instead of GA965P-DS3
This thread has a ton of information about overclocking this board problems and something Intel did to this chipset to protect the operation of the...
