Just got a 4090 FE from Best Buy. Looks like there has been a couple of drops that lasted for 2 minutes so far today. I saw a blue bar that says "see details". I was able to add it to cart but it then told me it was sold out. I kept on adding it to the cart anyways and after 4 attempts in...
I just got this case to replace my ancient Haf X. The temperatures for the CPU went down 10 to 15 degrees. Same cooler, Arctic Freezer II 360, mounted in front for the Torrent and was on top for the Haf X. Temperatures for my GPU, RTX 3090, went up around 10 degrees. I just did a FurMark...
Took a week to get the LGA 1700 bracket from Arctic Freezer for the Liquid Freezer II 360. I just ran Cinebench and my highest temperature was 80 C with no overclocks on the 12900k. Prime 95 showed 50 C on the blend test. So the cooler seems to be doing fine. It took me a while to get...
I had a Noctua NH-D15 chromax.Black with the LGA 1700 conversion kit but decided to send it back to Amazon based on the high temperatures in the reviews of the 12900k. I replaced it with Artic Liquid Freezer II 360. The LGA 1700 conversion kit is on order. Hopefully it comes soon. I got the...
I was going to use my Corsair liquid CPU cooler but their LGA 1700 conversion kit has been out of stock so I ordered a Noctua NH-D15 chromax.Black. I just hope it fits next to my RTX 3090. Looks like it would be a tight squeeze. I got a cheap motherboard, the GIGABYTE Z690 UD AX DDR4 since...
I got mine today from the Best Buy drop last week. Edit: Here is a picture of the box like everyone else is showing instead of my dusty case. My computer did crash and restarted when playing MS Flight Simulator 2020 but with no other games. I might have to upgrade my Corsair HX 850 watt...
I wonder if 10 GB of memory would be enough for a Pimax 8KX especially if used for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. I heard that game is using more than 10GB on one 4k screen. I have an Oculus CV1 right now but I want have the ability to upgrade to a Pimax 8KX or something similiar in the...
I wonder if this would work for VR LCD screens:
https://www.cnet.com/news/look-out-oled-hisense-unveils-dual-lcd-tv-tech-aimed-at-lower-price/
It would give you the benefits of OLED (black levels, contrast), and LCD (less screen door effect).
Would your GPU have to drive both screens if this...
Based on the pictures of the accident, looks like the truck driver was backing into the dock and his cab swing around and hit the bus. If the bus was operated by a regular driver, he/she would most likely have stopped several feet back to give the truck driver room to back into the dock. Most...
I tried to get to 5.0 but couldn't. The highest voltage I tried was 1.35 but the temperature got to 99 on AIDA64 stability test and vcore showed 1.394 on HWmonitor. After 3 minutes the computer freeze up. I was able to overclock to 4.8 using 1.2875 volts and it was stable but I only ran...
My temperatures are getting high also but I'm using a corsair hyrdro H100i v2. If I use the new Prime95 ver 29.3 I get around 89C, and if I use Prime95 ver 26.6 I get around 69C (small FFT) This is with no over clocks. I installed the cooler with the stock tim on the cooler so I'm going to...
Yes, that was with SSAA 4x on and Direct x 11 for Tomb Raider. Still I expected more improvement in the other benchmarks compared to my old computer. At least cpu intensive games such as x plane showed a huge improvement and future games that take advantage of all the cores will run better.
I finally upgraded my computer from an i7-920 to an i7-8700k. I did a few graphic benchmarks to show the differences between the two processors. 3dmark showed barely an increase in frame rates except for the cpu test, Superpositon benchmark showed about a 7% increase, and Rise of the Tomb...
The AMD K6 with 3DNow! was the worst processor I had to deal with. It had most blue screens of death and computer crashes I have ever seen. Constant integer divide by zero errors. I believed I figured that error out but by that time I had enough dealing with it and got rid of it after owning...
I use to work for American Express travel in the MIS department way back in the 1980's. We had an open office environment with large desks and your closest colleague was at least 15 feet away. I enjoyed the layout and didn't have any problems concentrating. The other day I saw a picture...
Being that HARDOCP is out of Texas, Kyle owning a Dodge Viper, and reviews based on performance and overclocking, it is my assumption that this website is most likely right wing. If HARDOCP was headquartered in Silcon Valley, Kyle owned a Prius, and the website only reviewed laptops, tablets...
I'm still running my I7 920 but upgraded my memory to 16GB since last time I posted about it because Just Cause 3 was running a little choppy. I was going to upgrade to Kaby Lake but after seeing the disappointing reviews I'm going to wait for Cannonlake. I have a Gigabyte G! 1080 video card...
I'm still have a I7-920 running at stock speed, 2.66 GHZ with only 6 GB of ram and just got a GTX 1080. I played Rise of the Tomb Raider, Doom, GTA 5, and Witcher 3 with everything maxed on a 2560x1440 Acer Predator monitor and every game runs smoothly. The only game I had some lag on was...
@aeonrevolution. Using the beta version of Origin fixed this problem for me. To opt in to the beta version click application settings on the origin drop down menu. On the general tab, scroll down to update to beta when available and click it. Restart Origin.
The XB1 is guaranteed to launch on day but the PS4 is not guaranteed to launch on the day it's released. This may be affecting the sales of PS4. Day one PS4's sold out except for the bundles.
According to an update on the article if you install the game on a different console it automatically deactivates the other install. So you couldn't split the cost of the game. Unless you don't connect it online?

When I first started I forgot to turn off adaptive vsync so the frames were stuck at 60. Could that be the reason your score is low saturnine2?
Edit: someone posted a better deal in the Hot Deals forum. Sorry for posting a deal in this thread. Just thought people would like to save money. I guess not.

Seems like others have the same problem with battlefield 3. No real answers from this except theories of cpu scaling, driver problems, or just the game itself.

Was hoping for UT 4. Not sure what kind of game this is. Like Minecraft? I could see Epic copying all those other free to play games like Blacklight Retribution and charging you money to upgrade your equipment.
I have Windows 7 upgrade installed on my computer. If I try to install this version I bet I will get an error similiar to this, "Windows 8 has detected your using an upgraded version of Windows 7, please..." I know there will probably be a work around just like I did with windows 7 upgrade...
@Particleman. Nexuiz just got released today for $10 on steam. It's a fast paced shooter but it's poorly optimized IMO. I can't max it out using sli 460's (1920 x 1200) and somebody else only got 60 fps on a 680.
Back on topic: Gigabyte or ASUS GeForce GTX 670 Direct CU II TOP for me...
According to the article you will have the option to watch the movie at 24fps or 48fps and in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D. I bet each will be price accordingly. Example:
2D 24fps $8
3D 24fps $12
IMAX 3D 24fps $14
2D 48fps $12
3D 48fps $14
IMAX 3D 48fps $16
