The half that couldn't be retrieved is due to the system restore you attempted.
Future reference:
System restore will not delete or restore User Files. Never has.
Actually it is a driver...
Of course the OS can communicate with the CPU without it, BUT it can also communicate with a video card without a driver on a basic level.

The NTFS version is not the issue. It shouldn't be reading it as a Dynamic drive coming from XP. I would first - make sure you have it backed up before doing anything else!

Odd indeed. I don't think being headless has anything to do with it specifically. Mine is headless and works fine, also it is designed and should be to run as a headless server.I would suspect a settings issue.

That must be some crappy disk!
On my gig network switch I get anywhere from 70 - 85 MB/s transfer speeds from any of my PC's to my WHS. Netgear G105 5 port switch using CAT5e cables.
I say you have an issue with the network setup of bad network cables etc...

I think that the file association was changed somehow... See this site which is for Vista but I think it is the same for win 7.

Or this from technet...
Do you mean that WHS cannot connect to the internet?
Make sure that the modem is connected to the WAN (or sometimes called an uplink connection ) Connection on the Airport. I'm not sure if this is applicable to your specific "airport" or not but the directions I have seen imply that it...
The exact key is not entered into the BIOS it is on the CD. WINNT.SIF for Windows XP, PID.TXT for Windows Vista ( Iwould have to look for the Windows 7 location, but it is different, but it is there )
No this will not work. The code I know for a Dell for example For Windows XP the BIOS code...
Not an issue as the login changer will compress and convert any image file and place it into the proper location for you basically with a couple of clicks of the mouse.

1. The Volume License Key that Dell uses is in the WINNT.SIF file for XP on the CD, This is automatically entered for you during the installation.
2. There is a set of files on the CD that is OEM Specific and it includes a Microsoft Trusted OEM Certificate file *****.xrm-ms this has the...
You can't do that without the proper files and key on the disk. Period. Esp with a "Non-OEM Disk".
I guess because you do not know where to look. I can find it.
Three requirements for OEM automatic activation:
1. XXXXXX.xrm-ms certificate file for the applicable Trusted OEM.
2. VL OEM...
The installation will never accept the Dell OEM key on the sticker until you obtain the correct OEM installation disk. It doesn't have to be a Dell disk just an OEM disk.
To do a factory restore on a Dell:If the partitions have not been buggered with.
When you see the DELL Banner on booting...
Nobody " encodes " the key inthe BIOS. Nobody. The BIOS will have an OEM string in the BIOS SLIC and RSDT tables that will correspond the the license certificate file from the OEM installation disk, these along with the correct volumn license key when they all jive together will cause activation...
Typical. Linux is set to GMT and when you logoff it will sync the hardware clock to it. Fix the linux install to use local time and you will be fine.
** No need to update to Vista or 7, your XP is working correctly. You can edit the registry to lower the NTP Sync interval to a very low value...
" Since most features in Home Premium won't work as is on a netbook,"
I am running Windows 7 Pro on an Acer Aspire One with no problems and everything is working just fine.

Then again the reality is if you do just a little homework for your hardware Win XP 64 bit will work just fine. I have been using it for years with no issues whatsoever.
Now the question is why not just get Vista or Windows 7 X64? Without knocking Win XP; Vista and Win7 are much better and...
