Having Trbl Backing Up Files

I have an Acer Aspire 5517 Laptop that didnt come with a Restoration Disk. I'm trying to make one on my own, but the backup seems to be stuck at 46%. It sits here making this intermittent grind noise, while the "Backup in progress" indicator sits there. Its been sitting like this now for over an hour!


What shouuld I do?
 
What I would do is, sleep on it and then restart in the morning if nothing changes.
