Sounds like Journeyman Project could be what you're describing. Here's a playthrough video to further spark your memory (they don't wait around in the beginning apartment to get killed in the video, but I do vaguely that being a thing in this game). The copy of thegame I had was on a cd that...
Sorry. I was wrong about that. I had a broken micro usb cable that was giving me trouble before I realized it. I looked on the xbox support site, and must have misread a support article and just kind of figured it was a bizarre design choice. I popped out the batteries of my xb one controller...
The XB one controller has no wireless support for the PC. You need to connect it to a micro USB cable,
The biggest improvement is the dpad, but they improved that on (wireless) 360 controllers sometime in the past year or two, so new 360 controllers have much nicer dpads.
I like the XB one...
This was apparently some kind of test for being able to play part of a game while the rest streamed in the background. The preload only included some basic bits and pieces, and the rest of the game fully unlocked and began to download upon release. This did not work all that well and pretty much...
The store page is still an ugly bloated mess, but you can now customize various sections of the Steam store page so it no longer shows early access games, DLC, and other things you're not interested in.
This is a fan-made product, nothing official. I was really perplexed for a moment until I read the article, as at one point Interplay wanted to make an FO MMO, but that got canned a few years back after a legal tussle with Bethesda.
I would love to see a new isometric Fallout with more modern...
I've seen jobs posted on Amazon's Mechanical Turk service where you get paid a few pennies to watch porn and come up with unique titles for videos. Sadly I don't think it was possible to make more than a couple bucks an hour doing it, and such job postings were pretty rare however :(
What add-ons do you have enabled? That can make a huge difference as well.
AdBlock Plus, for example, has an automatic ~60MiB+ overhead, with an add'l ~4MiB per iframe on the page. (regardless of whether the iframe contains ads or not). More details on ABP here
I've got the same thing going on. I signed up when they first opened and got a free year of service. They extended it and gave me a second year free. That expired a week or two ago and I can still get free delivery from Dominos.com (which is the only thing I've ever used the service for). I...
Steam will automatically download them in the background if you leave the client running. It only updates one title at a time, hence why the others are all paused.
I would assume that Microsoft charges universities significantly more for providing Office on MSDNAA, otherwise they would be giving the software away for free and never get anyone to ever purchase the student/university editition.
A quick look at various MSDNAA pages for organizations and...
Over reaction much? They did this exact thing with the first DLC release for Fallout 3 and Fallout NV DLC as well. This wasn't unexpected, and it'll only be exclusive for about a month.
Not every game has to be a AAA title to be enjoyable, and just because it's not a AAA title does not make it a piece of shit. I feel bad for people unable to enjoy an experience for what it is. It must get old always waiting for the next big thing, only to be perpetually disappointed.
If you don't mind an entirely generic, linear action RPG, Gothic 4 isn't a terrible game. Just don't expect the open world of Gothic 2/3, or anything particularly unique or memorable.
If I had to guess, I'd say your average [H]ard gamer would probably hate the game because it was decidedly...
Did you have the authenticator setup to require the code each time you log in prior to being hacked? If so, you may want to point that out to Blizzard, as they're still claiming there have been no instances of hacked accounts with authenticators...
Something very similar to what we're seeing here happened on the Diablo 2 closed realms 8 or 9 years ago (or maybe it was a decade+ ago? Damn, I feel old...). I don't remember the exact specifics, but it involved creating a new account with the name of the character who you wanted to steal items...
Than we would be seeing issues with WoW and other Blizzard games. The session stealing issue that's been mentioned previously is almost certainly the culprit.
THIS is how accounts are being hijacked (or something very close to it). It's got nothing to do with poor password practices, and authenticators will not protect you. There are malicious users grabbing your authenticated session IDs from games, and using that to access your account without...
The original official wireless receivers would frequently blow a fuse. This is one of the few cases where the official product did worse than the cheap Chinese knockoffs. I'd presume they have since fixed the issue, but it's something to keep in mind when making a purchasing decision.
Facebook itself may not be around forever, but social networking as we know it today has become an integral part of how people connect and interact with one another, and it won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
I loved the story in the Max Payne games, and that was enough to convince me to play all the way through both games, but I really don't think the game play has aged well at all. The whole bullet time idea was pretty cool and enjoyable for the first few hours, but after that the game play becomes...
Does Nintendo still tie your purchases to the console rather than an account? With Wii and DSi purchases, if your system died, you were at their mercy whether or not you could get your purchased content moved over to your new console. If they're still trying to pull those shenanigans, there's...
The term "self-defense" is just a poor translation of his claims--he's trying to claim it was a necessary action in order to stop the spread of 'liberalism' and 'multiculturalism'.
Kind of like stealing a life vest in order to save a drowning person, except it involves bombing a building and...
There's 50 posts in that thread. The post he made can be understood clearly as saying the copy he downloaded did not have the fix, and therefore he was not going to buy the game. It is only his previous posts, which was the ~40th post in on the third page, that put the post into context as...
Have either one of you been a moderator of a forum that gets dozens or even hundreds of messages marked for review in an hour? It's not feasible to read an entire thread for context, particularly when the post itself can very easily be understood (incorrectly) without context. It was an honest...
It's pretty clear to me how that could be interpreted as admitting piracy: "The version of the game I downloaded did not include the fix . . . I'm not buying it."
It's pretty understandable that Steam has a zero policy discussion on piracy - their entire business is based on selling people...
The java runtime only runs when you're using a java application (or applet in a browser). A small program that checks for updates runs once a month. This can be disabled if you really want it to for some reason, but it's not recommended.
If you're concerned about security, simply disable java...
I was looking forward to playing EQ for free, but alas, the free/silver ($5) accounts are way to gimped. Not even going to bother giving it another shot.
PS3 players will be able to use a mouse+kb.
(And yes, you can still use a mouse and keyboard just fine from a couch. I do it all the time.)
*Edit: Hasn't this been common knowledge for months now?
Unless Battlefield 3 includes a 64-bit executable, it's not possible for the game to utilize more than 4GBs. It can certainly make a difference if you plan on keeping memory-intensive applications open in the background, but otherwise going above 4GB is going to make a negligible difference.
ElastoMania (PC) is still awesome after all these years (if you don't mind playing a game that's 15+ years old). It's not as fast or as easy to play as Trials HD by any stretch of the imagination, but once you get the controls down, it's incredibly addicting.
Trials 2 is available on Steam...
Has anyone experienced weird cookie issues with using various Google services after disabling the history tracking? I'm not sure if that's actually when it started, but if I log into GMail with my Google sites account, and then go over to Google Groups, I'm logged out and need to log back in...
... you would disassemble it? You can probably find adapters that work for a single controller that might be slightly smaller, but you'll still have to disassemble it and try to fit the PCB inside the case, and you'll then have to get two if you want both controller ports to work.
If you're the type that loves to study theory and proofs, these books are great. Definitely some of the best out there even.
If, however, you're really into the application of computer science theory, you're almost certainly going to find the texts a bit dry and you're better off with textbooks...
