I've bought quite a few refurbished things before, but never a pc component. Geeks.com seems to have quite a few refurbished drives for fairly cheap. Is there anything to look out for when purchasing a refurbished drive? Will I get about as much life as retail or OEM drive? Any info is appreciated.

Nevermind I actually went and bought an e6700 I found on eBay. I'm really new to the Core 2 CPU's so I really wasn't sure what was compatible with what. Thanks again for the help guys!

So my new e7400 just came in this morning and after installing it my pc won't POST. All the fans and cathodes are working but no video or any motherboard error beeps. I upgraded to the C2D from a Pentium D 820 and when I reinstalled the Pentium the pc ran fine. Any help, ideas, or suggestions...

haha wow a little off topic but i wasn't really expecting to see other people within the general area of PA i live in. small world.

Specs are: Corsair 400W PSU 2GB Crucial RAM 9600GT OC 80GB Seagate 160GB WD C2D E6750 4 80mm case fans 1 120mm fan Creative Labs sound card. And i've also tried unhooking the 160GB WD drive and leaving the HDD in question still plugged in which ends up with the same results.

Alright here's the deal. I have an 80GB Maxtor SATA HDD and whenever the drive is plugged in to the pc I'll turn on the pc and less than 2 seconds later it shuts itself off before it can even POST. I don't have a different machine to test it on. Anyone here have any ideas as to what the problem...

It's an Antec Sonata. The PSU doesn't say Antec on it anywhere so i didn't want to jump to conclusions. I bought it from a local PC shop also so I'm not sure that it's the original PSU.

Yeah i cut out bigger holes and put the grills over them. And by removing the heatsink cover i went from 46C full load to 44C and 38C idle to 36C idle. Please some one explain this to me.
