There's also the Asus PA246Q, which has DVI + HDMI and the wide gamut like the U2410. I believe they're the same panel, but the PA246Q is $100 cheaper and supposedly a minor improvement on the U2410.
This is also true (actually seems to be a lot of variability), but if you're also upscaling the picture using the monitor and/or working at a non-native resolution its going to look even worse.
I'm in the same boat - I imagine it looks bad because because AFAIK XBox360/PS3 Games run at 720 and 1080, which are unfortunately respectively smaller and larger than the native resolution of the 20WMGX2.
Unless you are using programs that use that much RAM (read: not most games), you won't see that much of an advantage. If you use 32-bit Windows (XP or Vista - doesn't matter, it's still 32-bit) you will not be able to use all the RAM anyway. 32-bit OS's have the ability to use 4GB of memory...
That's happened to me on several orders - on my last order I didn't get a tracking number via email until AFTER my package arrived. Usually though the shipment information page on newegg's site has a tracking number within a day of ordering or less.
I still bust mine out to play mostly shmups. Thunderforce V, Galactic Attack, the Parodius Series, Battle Garrega, Soukyugurentai etc, plus all the obscure fighters I can shake a stick at. Truly a 2D-lover's paradise. I still have a new boxed Saturn just for eternal backup purposes (Segata...
No. Not yet at least. There is nothing to my knowledge that only maxes out your equipment in Vista and not XP. The only exception being DirectX 10 games. And there aren't that many of them yet.
I can't believe Logitech pissed my cheerios so bad. I used UBCD4WIN (not to be confused with the Ultimate Boot CD) and Password Renew to create a new dummy admin account with no pwd and uninstalled the Logitech drivers and lo and behold the PS/2 keyboard worked...I reinstalled the Logitech...
zacdl - Ah, I didn't think of that - admittedly I guess I figure people would have better things to start flamewars over ;)
And no, I didn't forget the passwords - I can't type them in, the keyboard doesn't work on the login screen.
Thank you for your replies - Out of habit I have password protected all accounts, so I cannot login into Windows to remove the drivers. I'm in the midst of creating a BartPE disk and seeing what I can change from there.
@zacdl - What title would you suggest? I can't think of a more specific...
Windows XP Pro 32-bit
So I installed another 2GB of RAM, bringing the total to 4GB. System posted fine, but once I get into windows the keyboard stops functioning (although the mouse works). I tried this with my regular Logitech wireless keyboard, as well as a legacy PS/2 keyboard with a wired...
Same here, he said the site would be back up within an hour as well. I'm surprised he didn't sound more irritated, I know I would be with, I assume, everyone and their dog now calling them. *sigh* I even had my CC stuck in my home row ready to go.
I RMA'd the mobo. My gut instinct tells me that its that rather than the PSU or CPU - I'm blaming the hot as hell northbridge. I'll check the rails on the PSU with a voltmeter though. While I don't know if the Conroe is different, when I've had a dead CPU (as opposed to a dead mobo) I still get...
Apologies over the lack of details.
Thank you for your reply.
I'm cooling on air, fans aren't silent - I can watch them spin in any case. I had (oh past tense, why are making me so sad) a moderate overclock @ 2.4 GHz. I did try reseating the power connectors, but I don't have any spare...
Specs: Asus P5B-E, C2D6400, 7900GS, X-Fi XTreme Music, 2Gig Buffalo Firestix, 1 Seagate Barracuda, XClio 450Watt PSU
My system had been running flawlessly for over four months - tonight I reset the computer after installing some software and now it won't POST. Not just a normal no POST though...
You're correct, NEC is releasing the LCD2490WUXi (24")using the same panel as the larger LCD2690WUXi (26"). One caveat though is that the 26" covers 92% of the Adobe RGB gamut, while the 24" only gets up to 72% - or so I've been told.
Right now all the 22inchers are PVA.
Short answer: yes, and you need an adapter. Things may have changed in recent years, but as far as I am aware, while possible, it is cost prohibitive as the adapters are quite expensive and specific to the laptop model. You'd be better off buying an LCD specific for that purpose.
I've been monitoring this form for a while, trying to glean what information that I can from the threads already posted, however, most of the information that pertains to my interests are for panels way out of my budget.
I have a budget of around $500, I'm going to be using this primarily for...
EDIT: I think I misunderstood your question, I interpreted it as a solicitation if you should find an alternative or just go with the X-Fi. My apologies.
I was in the same position as you a few hours ago....yay for 5AM purchases.
My final decision was to get the X-Fi XtremeMusic, which is...
I mean...what? Basically, whenever I try to delete .wmv files, the screen will blank out for 2 seconds and then come back. Just .wmv files. I have experienced no other issues other than that (in games or video playback) and It's not really an problem, but it is bizarre enough I figured I would...

Haven't found much information on this. Seems like it could be better than traditional slot cooler exhausts as you could potentially replace the fans (well...I have yet to find a substantial number of 45mm fans)...
At my folks place for the holidays, my dad was repositioning their LCD TV and did...something to it, laid it down wrong, he's not sure. Anyway, he cracked one of the internal layers, but strangely the glass was unharmed. Just wondering if there are any fun projects or anything to do with a...
I would go with the LCD. From wikipedia:
Pros of Plasma
* Slim, wall-mountable design
* Larger maximum practical size than LCD screens
* Wider viewing angle than LCD screens and better color consistency throughout this range
* Better contrast ratio than LCD, though LCDs...
There were several announcements in 2004 and early 2005 that implicated that several manufacturers would be building CRTs with slimmer electron guns. See here and here. What happened to those? I haven't seen ANY announcements about their release in the last year or so. Were they abandoned in...
Clearly it is inaccurate :D I should have clarified, I'm trying to see if it is consistently inaccurate in respect to what I set the vcore at in BIOS, at or if the numbers that it gives are just its own whimsical fantasies with no reflection on reality. I'm mostly interested to see what voltage...
Long story short, e6400@3208 with a P5B-E rev1.01. System was unstable until I bumped the vcore to 1.4125.
Going over 1.4 was an uphill moral battle for me ;).
Anyway, BIOS/ displays the vcore at 1.35 idle (@40c) and Speedfan/Core Temp display 1.32 under load[@49c (vdroop I know)]. I...
Thank you for your quick response. I was mostly concerned after hearing dissension as to the legitimacy of the chips used (whether revision C was still Micron based...I've gathered that they are D9GMH's).
So just for clarification, what you are stating is that CPU-Z is reading the BIOS...
Long time lurker...I did have an account back in the day but I let membership lapse...ANYWAY.
Purchased some Buffalo Firestix 2GB DDR2 PC2-6400 from the egg on the recommendations that I read here. I'm using it with an Asus P5B-E (rev. 01, damnit), e6400, Arctic 7 Freezer. I'm the in midst...
