Has anyone used 1000v with Linked Mode? How would it work if you added a second vCenter later and then wanted to extend the 1000v?

I have several clients on 5.1 and they keep asking about 5.5. In the past we would wait for U1 to upgrade but I'm not sure anymore. If U1 is coming soon it would make sense to wait but if we're going straight to 6.0 then I'm thinking upgrade now. Suggestions?
