Recommend storage for HA two-node VM cluster

Designing a two-node VM cluster for a friend, his facility will use it for RDS and Citrix. Hyper-V would be cheapest, but they are not against Xen or ESXi. What is the absolute cheapest HA shared storage for two nodes? Dell MD3200 has a dual controller option for HA but at that point I might as well get a VNXe 3100.
 
If you're not afraid of used you can get a fully decked out MD3000i. We also have an AX150i, it's our older array; also used. Drives for the AX150 are becoming harder to get though.
 
maybe not absolute cheapest, performance can't be terrible and it needs to be expandable fo the future.
 
Take a look at iQstor (www.iqstor.com) and JetStor (www.jetstor.com). I have sales contacts at both places that have just recently gotten extremely good pricing for a number of our customers that were asking for hardware recommendations without breaking the bank.

I got a fully decked MD3000i w/15x450GB 15k SAS and dual controllers for $8k with a non-dell 1 year limited warranty. You can sometimes find them with dell warranties still going for 2-3 years. Some you can even re-instate the warranties.

You should be able to toss on 2 x MD1000i's configured however you like for additional storage.

The controllers are Active/Passive though, with 4 x 1Gb ports you really only vet 2 x 1Gb usable, still plenty for our needs. I think with the MD3200 series you can get 8 ports now.

Never forget - interconnect is never the limitation on a shared environment - although 2 hosts is pretty small and you might encounter line speed before iops (jf you have SAS disks).
 
I may need to speak with an EMC vendor and see exactly how much the VNXe will cost before I rule out cheaper solutions.

We use HP P4000 G2/3 SANs with multiple clusters on them. We opted for these over the MD3000i due to several internal factors. We do have a regular MD3000 for a clustered database setup, and it works ok...we like the LeftHand (now HP) stuff better.
 
what about dual controller MD3200 DAS? You can connect up to 4 nodes in HA mode and should be much faster than 1gbps iSCSI.
 
We love our NetApp FAS2020's. I run NFS rather than iSCSI & it's a lot more flexible for the same performance.
