Has anyone used 1000v with Linked Mode? How would it work if you added a second vCenter later and then wanted to extend the 1000v?

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but,
The 1000v cannot extend beyond a single vcenter.
Linked mode is only to extend the "SSO domain" or management domain for vCenter. It allows you to see more than one vcenter in the thick client. Linked mode does not allow you to do cross vcenter migrations, movements or extend any objects between vCenters. Minus permissions but this is more of a copy.

If this question is for a production environment, do not plan on linked mode to exist "be supported" in future releases.

You are correct in saying that it can't be extended beyond a single vCenter as the VSM is "registered" to a specific vCenter instance.
 
I have 1000v's with 2 vCenter servers in linked mode. Have a pair of VSMs and VSGs in the one vCenter and 4 VSMs and 4 VSGs in the other. Like Nick said, a VSM can only connect to one vCenter at a time, depending on how you have things configured, you may need more then once pair per vCenter.
 
That makes sense, thanks for confirming.

Assuming they use one vCenter for both sites, is there any reason to use more than one 1000v?
