World of Warcraft is meant to look like Warcraft 3... which it does a VERY good job of doing.

Can anyone in the beta give some insight on how the game runs? Frame rate wise.
Man I cant wait till the final game client is released... amazing graphics not to mention the gameplay blows away WoW.
I hope you are right, but I doubt itHopefully I can get in on the open beta and see for myself. AoC ruined the "listen to beta players" view for me. That ended up being

The fact that the "open" beta really just appears to be a few days for preorders also supports that view for me. Wish they went for an actually open beta like WoW. Feels like MMOs that keep it closed off as much as possible until launch, are just trying to hide all the flaws. Who knows though, might still end up being good.

The open beta is a week long. This is just a preview weekend.
Anyone know if this WAR supports Mac's? My wife will want to play also I'm guessing and she's a Mac fangirl. It's about time she learns to stop carebearing too.
Game is beautiful, but I don't feel like I'm getting a good fps. It feels to me like ......32-35 fps on high 1920x1200.
Whats the command to show fps?
It doesn't look like WoW. Sure, there are some similarities, but that's kind of where it stops. Someone posted a link to some screen shots earlier in this thread, maybe a page or two back. I suggest you look at those.
edit: here, found the link for you:

Will there be any differences between preview weekend and open beta?
More people? There will probably be some patches between now and then but Mythic hasn't said anything specifically.
Hmm, and do you know if the preview characters will be wiped for OB?
Oh and one more thing: Is there any incentive in starting another career as you already played?
For example I'm really having fun with DoK right now which I plan on making my main once WAR goes live, but I'm afraid that I'll just be bored of it because I will see the same things and exprience exactly what I did during this preview weekend/OB while leveling (at least in the newbie zone which I'm in right now).
Every company that has ran a beta test for their MMO has always wiped all beta characters prior to release. This one is no different so yes, don't expect to keep your beta character.
There are no incentives or bonuses for playing in beta. Once the game launches, everyone's characters will be on even ground. The advantage beta players have is that they typically know the layout and mechanics of the game more than someone that's new so beta players usually level up faster as a result. I've been in beta a while and my characters have been wiped multiple times per week in come cases so I know all of the starting areas very well.
Most times though, people play different class/races for the fact they don't want to become bored of their preferred class. I've been limiting myself to playing only classes I'll probably won't play in retail.

Can you play this preview weekend if you just have the normal pre order and not the CE?
I pre-ordered the standard box from GoGamer.com yesterday afternoon. I received an email from GoGamer with my Open-Beta and Headstart codes a few hours after I ordered. I setup my Mythic Master and Game accounts last night. I also registered my Beta key with FilePlanet so that I could download the beta client. Woke up this morning and checked my account and it was flagged for the preview weekend.
I'm not sure, but I think the fact that I registered the key with FilePlanet helped the whole "Preview Access" flagging process along.
Just waiting to get out of work so I can go home and try to play![]()
Lineage 2 did not wipe from beta to retail. Pretty bold statement there hoss.
Gotta say, my first scenario RvR is disappointing. I made a DoK, got to rank 6 and tried it for the first time, same results every time I went in (about 10 times total)
We got steam rolled every single time I went in. There is no clear teamwork in this game, some idiot may run into a group of 10 people, while most stand 50 yards back and just seem to move around but not cast any spells or try to do any damage.
Yeah the no teamwork thing frustrated me when I first joined but it's to be expected for a while until people learn some tactics. Right now it's new and everyone is zerging and trying to do the most damage and whatnot. People still fail to realize that RvR is team-based and not 1v1 PvP. Most of the time healers won't do anything but stand there or only try to DPS. It's going to take a while for people to figure out the basics.
