I was also referring to installing drivers, updates, etc. That takes several hours.
Perhaps on Windows 7 and earlier but not Windows 10.

An elitist? Bwahahahaha! He’s a college kid allegedly majoring in CompSci who can’t even build a freaking computer. What exactly does he have which allows him to be an elitist? The moron didn’t even know the difference between zip ties and tweezers.
His PC isn’t better than mine or probably almost people’s on [H], so if he’d like a free serving of humble pie, we should have him over. Maybe Kyle can interview him. Lol!
I did feel bad about the people continuing to troll him on Twitter, but not now. I wouldn’t hire that asshat to sweep up dog crap in my yard, let alone build a PC.
The difference is (to my knowledge) you didn't make a how to video that was posted by a major company, with major errors in the build and with erroneous statements made.To be fair, I went to a pretty good engineering & CS school, and knew plenty of CS students who couldn't even figure out how to install RAM. I'm not kidding about that either.
And if half of you even saw my PC, you'd probably demand Kyle insta ban me from [H] for how terrible my cable management skills are.

All said and done, The Verge really needs to get their act together regarding examining their content before posting it, and appropriately responding when they are called out for mistakes.
It's on YouTube:what ever that twitch link was, its gone now, just a black screen.

and do not forget your live strong wireless anti-static wrist bandAnd that twitch clip damns him even further. Pride commeth before the fall. Makes for some good laughs though. Is he really in college for a computer science degree?
So don't forget your tweezers, two tubes of thermal paste (always have lots of lube), and anti shock pads when building a computer. Most especially an elite one, with yeah that's right, a hexacore confidential intel processor!
yeah the cable management isn't a real issue, everything else and the way they've handled it is.
Meme it up baby! Woo Hoo!

It is if you're trying to convince others to build the same or similar $2000 PC. With that kind of money it better look good inside and out when finished.yeah the cable management isn't a real issue, everything else and the way they've handled it is.
I think only you took it that way. other than looks, cable management doesn't really mean shit and isn't really a fuck up.It is if you're trying to convince others to build the same or similar $2000 PC. With that kind of money it better look good inside and out when finished.
Back in the day with low airflow cases and flat ribbon cables, it was more important. With a giant case like that, you're right it's pretty much only about looks. But then, why bother buying a case with lots of glass windows if not to look at it?I think only you took it that way. other than looks, cable management doesn't really mean shit and isn't really a fuck up.
yeah i remember the hours i spent origami-ing lde cables. I get that but its only ascetics and wouldn't hurt anything. that was my point.Back in the day with low airflow cases and flat ribbon cables, it was more important. Well we're talking about a $2000 PC. What happened to taking pride in your work?I think only you took it that way. other than looks, cable management doesn't really mean shit and isn't really a fuck up.
are you intentionally missing the fucking point?!Well we're talking about a $2000 PC. What happened to taking pride in your work?
He puts on thermal paste like my daughter puts on hot sauce.Wow that's a lot of paste , like holy crap. Does he think the whole tube was supposed to go on one CPU.
You mean it doesn't matter? Everyone has their preferences so I won't argue about that. As long as you have good airflow it's all good.are you intentionally missing the fucking point?!
If they didn't know they never should have released it in the first place. The written article, with many of the same dangerous errors, remains up and unchanged. They only took the video down, but corrected nothing.
Again, they didn't know any better. This is why the video was released. You're still assuming they should have known .... they didn't, clearly. You're trying to lay fault. And I don't blame you, there is this constant human need to do this .. to blame and fault others ... regrettably. Look, ... put your sister in front of this video. Or, someone who doesn't know a damn thing about building a PC and ask them what they thought of the video. They are going to say, "looks good to me!" ...
It's entirely plausible that no one at The Verge knew any better. I personally think this is what happened. No one was hurt, it's really not that big of a deal and everyone got their little laugh. Since I don't try and fault others or escalate situations, such as this .. it didn't phase me. I was indifferent to the video. There's an awful lot of PC builder doing a fair amount of Chest beating and peakcocking and that's fine too ... but I don't think for one minute that they should have known better. No one is going to harm themselves in this way. I mean, there's a lot of pie on their face right now. No one is going to choose to do this. That's just not logical. The better logic being, they were all idiots and no one knew any better and the video was release and they also didn't know any better to not release the video.
Again, they didn't know any better.
The Verge PC build in 4 minutes:
I posted lyles vidI didn't know who they were either. I highly recommend the video posted earlier in the thread, with Lyle's reaction. It's golden.
Oh lol. Keep up the good work then.
My favorite critique on this video.
"He don't have two thousand! Look that cheap shirt!" lolI'm actually watching this. I never made it very far in the original video. Its cringe inducing to say the least.
nice pics, didn't read.
