How is this game lasting? I got really bored of the repetitiveness of the last one, so i was waiting to see if this one would bring anything new to freshen it up, or if it's just more of the same--which i'd probably get bored of very quickly.
 
How long is the pirate DLC?

It is pretty much more of the same, but improved.

Well, I know I am going against the trend here, but I really enjoyed the first borderlands. PLayed it through many times. But with Borderlands 2 I highly doubt I will play this one after I finish it once and I am struggling even to do that. Maybe I played the first one too much or something. The second one is more of the same with a little more humour and a bit better storyline, oh yeah and more guns. Another thing that's changed is that it's really geared towards CO-OP play, I only play solo, so that might be a reason I am not liking it as much as the first one. It's something to take into account, will you play solo or with friends?

If you got bored of the first one, then I think you will get bored of this one even quicker.
 
My brother hated the first Borderlands. He found it non-compelling, and didn't like the fetch quests. He loves Borderlands 2.

It's pretty much all I play these days.
 
pirate dlc is about 3 hours if you only do the main quest and are overpowered (ie: PT1 with a PT2 character). Humor again is pretty good.
 
the game varies so much it is annoying. example, @ level 42 I was shooting down the stupid planes easily, @ 45 they are a massive pain in the ass again. one thing though, the pirate dlc, the weapons are much better there.
 
I'm still wanting to smash something because I can't get the fucking game to remember my god damn key bindings or load my character.

Oh and I found out all my badass points/perks/tokens are GONE. All the progress stats are there on the right side showing what I've completed - I just have zero perks listed, zero tokens, and yes I've already made to check if everything was "enabled" on that screen to use said badass perks.

I was having a super blast when everythign was working great, right after that DLC stuff (which I did not buy) the game went to shit in terms of bugs.

Basically the 40 hours I have invested in my gunzerker are instantly no fun because what's the point of having no badass ranks/tokens/perks, AND having to reassign my key bindings every god damn time I load the game up.

I don't mind starting a new character - but living in constant fear I'll loose everything sucks too.

If i play with one of my nephews I will suddenly look at the clock and 6 hours have passed and were still having fun. "Uncle I'm going to take the day off I think. Let's get one more quest over here done!"

If I play by myself I last about 45 minutes before I'm bored to death. The game is garbage solo to me.

If I play in a pickup group I'm pissed off the entire time as everyone is somewhere else on the map, nobody wants to resurrect, whomever is left alive on a boss fight loots everything. I was about to pick up a purple gun and I got ported out of the area. You know how mad I was?

So I'd say I have 3 different opinions on the game depending on the situation I'm in. :)

I haven't played Borderlands (or any game like it) with randoms... I imagine it would just suck. Playing with friends is great though, and does indeed hold my interest longer than rolling solo.

Sadly, with schedule conflicts though, I play mostly by myself. I've got two games going at the moment. I'm about 30 hours in on the solo one, and about 5 hours in on the other (just started it earlier in the week).

a friend last night tossed a lv50 bee on the ground for me to pick up in sanctuary in the building the golden chest is in...and it fell through the floor!

normally when they fall through the floor, their color line is still popping out and you can get a look on it and then swipe it. Thats really a big bug that hasn't bugged me too much, but it's pretty bad when the basis for this game being pickups, and they are falling through the floors. lol.

One time i sniped a badass rak far away, not thinking, and he dropped some eridium in the ocean. :S

Any good deals available right now? Cheapest I've found on Ebay is $28. Found it on play-sc.com for $25. Is that about as cheap as it gets?
 
I've found purples in the lava after killing the warrior several times (actual items not eridium), seen a few under him too so gotta wonder how many oranges got lost either in the lava or under him -_-

Honestly bro, this game is the best game I've plaed in a few years. Buy is asap. $25 is a steal... I've locked $65+ into this game and don't regret a thing.

I'm thinking the same thing. I'm taking ME3 and MP3 into the equation as well. But this is some fun stuff. Just got to Tina Tina. Get outta here! She's awesome.

Direct2play.com is selling it for $24, but personally I don't trust these russian key websites, mainly because they require using a VPN to activate the game, which is against Steam's ToS.

The cheapest 'legit' website currently is GreenManGaming at $40. I'm waiting for it to get a bit cheaper only because my prepaid card only have around $35 left, otherwise the game seems to be worth it.
 
Aww yeah, deifnitely the game is worth it, I absolutely am amazed at this game. Even though, I'm capped at 50 for now, and have to wait to save up money to get the DLC, it's still worth every penny.
 
Hmm, thinking about a new 670 or 680. Looks like if I buy from Evga directly I can get BL2 for free. Very tempting.....
 
I pre-ordered the game AND bought a 670 with the game code. heh... Now i got a GTX670 + GTX450 for PhysX, runs like a dream.

I'm loving my 680. It didn't hurt that I was able to sell my 480 for a surprisingly good price. If you can afford it, go all the way IMHO.

Do a little more digging on that Sig 2 version in your second link because I've seen more mixed feedback on those vs cards like in the first link. :)

This is the one I bought. It's basically the same thing as in your first link. It really kicks a lot of ass, runs quiet, and considerably cooler than my 480 did. I can max everything out on any game and not even think about it. Max PhysX, too. :)

So has anyone else glitched out on both bloodwing and bunker? First time playing against them they both got stuck and would not end sequence. You couldn't take that last little bit of health and ended up having to exit out and re-enter the game. Second attempt went just fine but I thought that was a bit odd and a PITA.

the first time i fought bunker he was stuck on a buzzard (or it looked that way), and didn't move the entire fight

First time I fought BUNKER on my Siren, it glitched out and got stuck at the waterfall. I thought I had to dislodge it. Lol. So, I got up to the waterfall and jumped onto it. It didn't work, I phased right through and had to redo the fight.

I think it took me five tries to beat BUNKER because it glitched out 3 times. One of the other times it glitched, it had no life left but just hovered there above the central area, and it didn't do anything.
 
Bloodwing glitched near the end of the fight and got stuck half-way through a wall. Made finishing him off easier. As for the Bunker, same as the poster above. Froze and took damage near the waterfall and when the health bar was empty it wouldn't die.
 
First time I fought BUNKER, it glitched behind the waterfall and would simply twitch about.

Had to restart the game to finally work.
 
I had Bloodwing get stuck on something to. I got him weakened to the point where the next sequence triggered but wouldn't progress because he was stuck. After about a minute though he got unstuck. Glad that it cleared itself up for me.
 
Bloodwing glitched for me too. Whatever it was he dropped was stuck in the ground and I couldn't loot it soI had to restart the game and clear the entire level again. When I did get back to the fight area the drop was sitting there and the doors opened for me.
