Oh, just finished the DLC (main quest line) and found out about the new raid boss :D :D :D :D :D

Don't think you can solo him since he lowers your shield with an AOE (that hits you no matter what... at least I couldn't avoid it), and kills you shortly.. and has 4 bots around that you need to kill first because he is shielded.

Couldn't get past killing 2 bots... and that was because I had my ass against the wall and the boss couldn't see me

Yep, you need better weapons. At this stage, you should be getting 7-9k sniper rifles. I struggled in this area too until I found a random corrosive sniper that did 10k at 45... then I started raping until I found the skullsmasher.

Using the skullsmasher with the bee shield makes me so OP that I barely even have to scope. I can kill most mid-close range enemies with one shot, no scope.

Skullmasher is rather bad at long rage, unless you are aiming at something big that has very big critical spots (hi warrior :D ).

Still, the skullmasher is sooooo boring to farm that is mostly useless. I'd rather have "magpie" all day long, as it shoots damn faster and although has bigger spread I find it much more useful.

And yes, you shouldn't use bee whatsoever except for bosses because you are not enjoying the game ;) BTW, the bee shield will make any weapon super good as long as it has decent accuracy, shoots fast AND has multiple pellets per shot.... its normal, though, the 5k damage per pellet of magpie are nothing compared to the 50k the bee shield adds... so, even a level 1 shotgun with 10x7 would be astonishing (as long as the bee is charged, mind you :D and would be coold to use hahaha). That said, it only works good with Conference Call against certain bosses... because the ability to "ping" perpendicularly is rather useless if there is nothing to hit on the sides. It works with Terra because of the amounf of tentacles around him.
 
The framerate issues are really bad in the DLC. They need to get the performance patch out asap.
 
Holy crap those are amazing rifles. I tried gambling for a while, no sniper rifles. The 6k is by far the highest damage I've found yet, all the rest are around 4k so...damnit, I need a new one. :(
 
I think I'm pretty close to the end (only 1 mission left) but I have an undiscovered quest I can't figure out.

It's listed as being in the Badlands and the only clue is "Skags Eat Everything..."

Anyone know how to activate this mission? Google gave me everything from suggesting I kill random skags (no luck) to killing everything on the whole level (they come back?).

I think that's the mission where randomly killing Skags will drop an Echo recording that triggers the start of the mission. Then you have to kill more Skags to recover weapon parts IIRC.

I get these in certain areas. Especially during heavy encounters, maybe a physics set to high issue? Nothing like it in the standard game.

Nice purple sniper, haven't seen beyond 13K myself yet.

Loving the game -- have a level 27 Gunzerker -- but I've run into an issue that's PISSING me off.

So I had my PC crash on me in the middle of a game, no big deal, I was experimenting with some overclocking. But now anytime I fire up borderlands 2 - I Have to manually (EVERY TIME) reset my key bindings, and also manually select my character to load. (i only have one character)

This is seriously annoying -- I've already re-verified the steam game files. Did some googling but it's just damn annoying. I don't want to lose my character but I'm at the point where I'm considering wiping the game out and re-downloading.

Any thoughts?

You don't have to lose your character if you clean your HDD.

C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\Borderlands 2\WillowGame\SaveData\76561197985591481
the saves files is in that folder.
backup the *.sav files and profile.bin file


The number in bold differs for each user. Or just copy the willogame folder in its entirety.
 
sounds like you are having file permission issues. try running as admin, you also could try finding where the game config stuff is stored, deleting the folder, starting a new game, copying back your stuff.
 
Anyone know when the 50 level cap will be raised? I seem to remember the first or second DLC in BL1 raised it.

pretty sure this mission is triggered from the first shack you see by the entrance. there's an echo on the roof, from the same gunsmith who used to live there about some skag eating his gun. start it from the echo on his perch, then kill skags to get the parts and marcus will assemble them for you.
 
I have encountered a very strange issue with this game. After I visited the quick change system to try on a new skin my character Salvador voice changed. He is my only character so i'm not sure whose voice he is using but he sounds German now. I tried changing my skin back, but my old Salvador voice has not changed back:(
 
The accent sounds german. The voice is in english. It sounds like it might be zero's voice. I'm not sure because I haven't played the character.

I wouldn't say Zero sounds German at all. Zero's voice is very "mechanical", though. His enunciation is deliberate and devoid of emotion. And it's somewhat muffled since it's supposed to be coming from inside a helmet.
 
Are you sure it's not the voice of Handsome Jack? (He doesn't have a German accent but...)

Anyway to reset missions, or restart them or something? I was doing a mission for Hammerlock that involved injecting a varkid for him. The mission went well and I killed the badass adult varkid and I had to collect what it dropped, but, it dropped into an area I couldn't get to. I tried everything to get to it and couldn't. Then I tried leaving the area and returning, but it was still in the same spot. next I tried restarting the game, the mission log is telling me to pick up the objective, but it's not there anymore and I cant inject the varkids again.

It's going to annoy me if there is no way to complete this mission now :-(

You do know that there's no falling damage, so you could jump down.

Erm, yeah I know, but it wasnt below me, it landed somewhere above the big skeleton outside any reachable area of the map. I can't even see it. You know those invisible walls you meet when you cant go any further, well it landed beyond them.

And it doesn't matter where it landed now anyway, because I restarted the game hoping the objective would spawn in the playing area, it didn't. It didn't respawn at all. So I have no mutated varkid sample, no way to inject the varkid cocoon again to get another one to drop. Yet my mission log is telling me just to pick up the mutated varkid sample, even though there is none.

So that's why I asked is there any way to reset a mission?
 
does PL1 stop scaling at some point?

The DLC seems to stop at level 30/31 and I'm 35 so I'm just walking through it no problem. I vcould move on to PL2 but then I think the DLC will be WAY to hard and I dont want to play through the whole game just to get here again.
 
I tired the DLC on PT1 last night with a 38 Axton, Enemies were about 31. Used my PT2 save and the enemies were about 38 so a better experience as it wasnt a walkover. When you change between the PT's you stay where you were in the other one, for example I loaded PT1 and was where I had stopped in PT2 so zoned to the DLC saved and selected PT2 and was in the DLC zone still.

can you get directly to the DLC when you start PL2?

In BL1 you could as soon as you get into Freystone. So I assume I have to get into the Claptrap hangout so you can access the Fast Travel?

I currently play the DLC (in TVHM) and that is at level 50. It is by far the most challenging part of the game so far. Enemies scale just beautifully all the way to insta death from Cursed Pirates and Rabid Stalker domination. Need better gear to deal with these :D
