MP is fine. But if you're just playing a game alone or SP game.. zero point in day1.
So you've been following a games release for months, talking with others about it, getting hyped to play it. You're just going to sit it out while everyone around you is enjoying and talking about it? The good and the bad?

I guess if you aren't really excited about it and you have no friends, this method works. Otherwise..

No my friends do the same.. I'm not playing the game with them.. I could careless... Plus im tired of broken ass basic shit at launch on games and so are they.

You a hype man i get it.. I am not.

So yes.. I will wait a year for a game I really want.. to get fixed and patched.. Before i play it.. I want the best experience with my game not broken or buggy or missing features in my games. The game will also be half price in a year.. As a bonus..

You wouldn't watch a movie with missing CGI would you? Same concept.

What I meant was, people are clearly passionate about Star Wars… whatever that means to you.

Maybe you’re a person who thinks the initial trilogy was great. Maybe you’re someone who loves Andor.

People don’t get upset about things unless they actually care… so, yeah, all the heated discussion in this thread is testament to Star Wars and how much people care about it.
The passion for Star Wars has died. The only elements of the Franchise I'm still interested in ae contained in the Expanded Universe that Kathleen Kennedy says doesn't exist. Anything pre-Disney is still interesting to me. I have found there is a lot of material I haven't seen yet too. Disney pretty much annihilated the fanbase and destroyed the brand. There's nothing to argue about anymore other than the obvious initiatives of Disney to make every franchise they own a divisive political platform for screaming DEI / DIE and virtue signaling. That is what sickens me and most people that once loved Star Wars.... Star Wars was a part of the pop culture, a part of the fabric of EVERYONES upbringing. People of all races, colors, creeds and sexual orientations (why the FUCK we have to even talk about how people like to FUCK these days is messed up) loved the franchise. Disney has destroyed the entire franchise in the name of their agendas. I recall reading an article how Disney hasn't made their money back from the acquisition of the property in the past 12 years or so because they destroyed the fan base, their projects keep getting cocked up and re-shot and delayed and their toys sit unpurchased on discount shelves (and in many cases are disposed of en masse - World Class Bulshitters had an entire piece about that).

It's just so sad to see the scraps we are getting in the form of video games and movie / universe content. Lots of us had high hopes when Disney acquired it. Little did we know they would burn it all down and squander the good will that the community had for the property.

If this game is good it won't be because it's star wars or be because of Disney. It will be because someone wrote a good story and that's about all any of us can hope for.

LOL.

You’re arguing as though your opinions are facts, and as though everyone thinks and feels exactly as you do.

“The passion for Star Wars is dead… there’s nothing to argue about.”

Well, if you say so!
My opinions are mirrored by many. That would make them facts. Those facts don't have to apply to everyone in order to be valid.

Hershy Not really sure what your point is. That the Star Wars fanbase is a galvanized group of combatants or that what I just stated (all of it factual) is not factual when you have presented ZERO evidence as to why other than your own opinion.

When it all comes down to it, if you can actually read, is that I stated an opinion and it's based in reality. Go to any youtube talk show that discusses Star Wars and you will hear them mirror how Star Wars is dead to them. Even people like Star Wars Theory, who make their livelihood on their 2+ million subs talking about Star Wars will express how checked out they are in Disney Era Star Wars.

Legendary Gamer… you’re way, way too invested in this.

lol...he's saying that if a group of people agree on something it makes it a fact lol...so if a large group of people think that the Earth is flat, it becomes fact...

I'm saying that opinions count and there are a lot of people that think Star Wars is dead. That's factual.

You're just trying to twist my words with out presenting any evidence to the contrary. I have seen this earlier in the thread. You like to dismiss anyone that doesn't hold your opinion. You and Hershy are made for each other. You both seem to think the same.

There is a difference between something that can scientifically proven and opinions about entertainment. As I explained in an earlier post, fans rejecting a specific installment in a franchise can often get that installment ejected from canon. Thus, enough people agreeing on something being shit may eventually lead to change in the canon to appease the fans. There are numerous examples of this in film or TV shows already. So while Disney may say all this garbage is canon today, enough fan rejection may result in that changing some day.

That's far different than the beliefs of Flat Earthers which are demonstrably false. No one argues that Disney says the sequel trilogy and the Acolyte are canon today. However, much of the fan base rejects this trash and refuse to simply consume this shit.

the only thing I know of being removed from canon is animated content from the comics...nothing from live action has ever been removed from canon...even with the Extended Universe they are bringing back elements into the canon with Grand Admiral Thrawn etc

The Acolyte was Disney+‘s biggest series premiere of 2024...so the majority seem to be watching it...if you hate it so much then why are you watching it every week?

"Star Wars Expanded Universe of novels, computer games, and comic books would no longer be considered canon"
https://screenrant.com/star-wars-sequels-expanded-universe-legends-stories-copy/

"as soon as Disney bought Lucasfilm, an official Star Wars canon was established, and it only considered the first six Star Wars movies and Clone Wars as part of it."
https://screenrant.com/george-lucas-star-wars-expanded-universe-rules/

so they are now pulling in stuff they considered non-canon and ret-conning it to be canon?

When Disney and Lucasfilm announced that old EU stuff was being put under the Legends banner, they said that creators will have the option to pull concepts from the old EU. Thrawn was brought into the new canon with the final two seasons of Rebels.

You've got it all wrong man. Buying games when they come out ensures you're paying the most and getting the least And sends a signal to game publishers everywhere that they can continue to release broken buggy incomplete games.

That's unfortunately the way it is then. I'm still going to enjoy the release with my friends.

I wasn't talking about Star Wars specifically. Pay attention and actually try and read (and understand) what I'm telling you. I'm simply pointing out that when fans absolutely hate a given TV show or film, it's sometimes removed from canon. I gave several examples of this in the Highlander franchise specifically. It's also happened in the RoboCop franchise and others as well. Hell, within Star Wars the Last Jedi was so unpopular that a good chunk of the Rise of Skywalker spends time retconning and fixing issues that came from the previous films in regard to canon and fan backlash.

The hope is that if we all vote with our wallets and tell Disney what we think of this trash and that the garbage they've been putting out will be decanonized and replaced with something better.

You are still confused. Disney is bleeding subscribers and being the biggest premiere of 2024 isn't saying much. Viewing numbers for the premiere should not be confused with current viewership numbers either as I'd wager each episode loses views compared to previous episodes. We've seen countless examples of this with other shows. Unfortunately, its hard to get actual figures for the Acolyte as streaming numbers are usually not reported unless they choose to. Obviously, when the ratings are shit they won't do that. Some drop off after the premiere is normal for any show, even good ones. In this case, I'd bet if we had the numbers they'd rival Batwoman's ratings and that's not a good thing. Even so, the ratings on aggregate sites are pretty telling. The Acolyte literally has the worst viewer ratings of any Star Wars TV show or film. It's rated worse than The Last Jedi which made half the money that the previous film did. It was not well received by any metric that matters.

Nice try. If you're gonna argue with people in a thread , you don't get to do then do that.
I’m literally not arguing with the guy, because he’s obviously either off his meds or just plain unstable.

Anyone who gets this defensive and aggressive about… Star Wars… and then denies that he’s over-invested in the franchise… and then proceeds to attack people by claiming they have multiple accounts and are trying to up-vote themselves… LOL… is quite clearly… I won’t say it, but the dude has issues.

It just depends on what you want. If you're just super excited to play a new game and willing to put up with it being less than optimal, nothing wrong with that. I've done both. Played games day 1 that were poorly optimized (but still enjoyed them) and I've also waited.

I'm mean, who really cares? Only issue is when people jump in day 1 knowing it may be a $hit show and then moan about it for days and weeks on the internet. Need to set realistic expectations.

but that's symbolism...Kylo is biologically a Skywalker...big difference
Not according to Disney if they choose to make Rey a skywalker instead by proclaiming it.

No.. they are included in this.. and they release the worst PC ports ever.. I wouldn't pay more then 30$ for there games now. They will continue to release broken products.. If you keep buying them.
Their games are vastly overrated to begin with. Their CEO saying adding easy mode would break their games is true, it would break them because people would realize there is nothing else to them.

Not really that obvious. I played them all on day 1, along with my friends and had a ball. Miss out on those opportunities just to "stick it to em"? No thank you.

Game comes out and my gaming buddies are all hyped, i'm not going to be that guy. $70 or $30 for a game (like Division 2) that I've been playing on and off for 5 years? Inconsequential.
This is why we can't have nice things. Those "opportunities" are manufactured specifically to blind you to your own interests. Pre-order bonuses are cancer, and by going for their ride you are making it worse. First it was just some cosmetics, then it is in game items, then "time savers" (worth another post in of itself) then it was early access, now whole missions? If you keep drinking it in, soon half the game will only be available if you pre-ordered it.

Mcrotransaction are worse if you ask me and more addicting. At the moment in game all you see is the screen and the game in front of you.

Randomized "difficulty" or making simple actions exceptionally hard (like making an enemy require 200 hits) is something that just doesn't appeal to me. I recall watching some gameplay from one of the Dark Souls games. You could essentially take two paths. One would result in the floor opening up and you die instantly. Zero skill could avoid that outcome. It is just a coin toss. Then you have to replay 20-30 minutes of gameplay to get back there and choose the right path. I don't see the appeal, and have never bothered with a From Software or "Souls like" game. I did play and enjoy Armored Core 6, but it felt dated in many ways. In the absence of better modern vehicle shooters I recommend it, but it was a mediocre game at best.

And Ubisoft is the worst with this. They have dozens of editions that may not include something a lower priced tier will include. Example: $70 game. $90 Deluxe Edition. $110 Extreme Edition that does not include Deluxe Edition content.

Fromsoftware games are basically QTEs that don't even have the common courtesy of showing you the prompts. You have to memorize the patterns of the enemies through dozens if not hundreds of repeated attempts of trial and error. I think it is just awful game design, not predicated on skill, but perseverance and tolerance for frustration.

Good action game design to me means that if you are skilled enough and read the clues right you can beat the entire game on the first try. Because nothing is predicated on guesswork or a cointoss.

Now before some sycophant says but what about the people who beat dark sould in one go? They don't do it on their first try, do they? They have spent thousands of hours memorizing every section and every enemy and then combining all that experience can attempt doing it in one go.

And the problem for me with this type of difficulty is not just that it is unfun, but it breaks immersion. The design is a 4th wall break in of itself. In a real situation you only get one attempt at everything, no chance to learn patterns through failure. So you'd die at the first unreadable attack and that would be it.

More or less. You essentially have to fail at first, a bunch of times, before you figure out what combos it wants you to use. Then it is largely memorization. With lots of back tracking (pointless repetition). If the game is actually difficult but allows the player to think through a plan and use tools to fight I don't mind that. But From Software seems to do the opposite.

Sorry you feel this way Flogg. I'm sure Outlaws will be right up your alley. No pun intended.

They're creatively bankrupt and the nuggets of the EU (Thrawn is totally bastardized here) aren't enough and they're not done right, which is even worse.

The Acolyte being the biggest premier of 2024 has been debunked already. That was shill media sites saying that. It's already come out that it's the biggest flop of the year, beating out Ashoka and Book of Boba Fett for the lowest viewership numbers.

You're the kind of person that likes to throw shit at a wall and see what sticks. Anything you get push back on isn't yours anymore the moment it was thrown, or in this case, left your mouth/fingertips.

I'm just stating facts and you're attempting to start a fire.

As for the multiple accounts thing, you sound just like numerous other people on here. You're like a clone, for lack of a better term. It's the attack of the clone's in this thread.
